How many puffs typical on a coil?

Hi. Pretty new to vaping, and a non-smoker. I have a Smok with at V8 Baby M Core. I run it at about 60 watts. After about 800 puffs it seems to get rather harsh. I was just wondering if this is typical and what I should expect. Thanks much!

I had a baby smok tank but not sure of the coils. I did try 3-4 different ones. I ran mine well under the recommended watts and got 700-1300 puffs before I had to change them. Are you running any nicotine? You said you are a non smoker so I hope not.

In my Baby Beast I run the X4 Coils and get an average of 5,000 puffs on a coil firing 25-30 Watts maximum.

A lot depends on flavor choice. If it is a sweater flavor the coil is not going to last as long. Nicotine is going to make the hit have a harsher flavor as well. Wish my coils lasted that long steveS45. That is why I started making mine. I can change cotton out between 500-1000 puffs and not waste a coil. Burn off the gunk and re wick it.

Thanks. I'm playing around with wattage. I'm at the high-end of the recommended wattage, but I can surmise that a lower wattage would tend to burn the coil less.

Old thread i know but irun a smok alien with a baby beast tank and T8 coils running 70 to 75 wats. I can get 15,000 to 20,000 before i can taste the need to replace the coil. Am i the only one doing this?lol not sure how you could only get 1000 or so

One huge contributing factor to a short coil life is the Color of the juice. It seems to me the darker color the juice the faster the coil gums up and fouls. I don't keep track of the puffs I just use them till there bad. And I have noticed the darker the juice the faster I have to change them.

:yes:Matter of fact at the moment getting ready to make some fused Clapton wire. It'll be 2*30 awg wrapped with 36 awg Kanthal A1. Made some plain Clapton 30 awg wrapped with the 36 awg and found the wire was just too thin and fine. I figure fused ought to give it a little more rigid feel.

And it did. :)

I tried the 2*30 wrapped with 36 awg Kanthal coil. It just was not "up to snuff" as far as production for me. I swapped it with a 24 awg Nichrome 80 reading at 0.50 ohms. These have been consistently good producing coils for me.

It seems to me the darker color the juice the faster the coil gums up and fouls.

Sweeteners in juices also add to putting gunk on coils but agree darker juices do as well.
