Too hot

Hi, begginer here :)

I bought evic vtc dual ultimo kit, i used ceramic coil,

juice: 12mg 50/50 vg/pg + Journey SHAKE Brrrr

For testing i did 1ml Journey SHAKE Brrrr and 9ml of 12mg 50/50 vg/pg

On evic vtc dual i didnt do any modifications except setting low airflow and set it to 70W and my mouth is sooo hot, so i lowered it to 40W its better but still hot.

My question is, how can i solve this "hot" problem?

Thank you

Turn down the power. If you get it so low that the device isnt working for you and its still too hot, you are using the wrong device for you.

Maybe open the airflow some. Coil needs air to stay cooler. It happens.

Its written on coil to use minimum od 40W. Is it safe to use is lower? 5-10W?
Airflow is same, more airflow and in 1 time my mouth are hot, minimum airflow and i can feel heat, and 2 times with minimum airflow and its hot in my mouth. I cant vape 2 times with full open airflow, but i can with minimum but still forcing myself to heat mouth, so when i turn on device and 1st time inhale coil cant be heated that much.

Before this i bought joytech aio d16 but same thing... its hot... i really dont know what is wrong... if am using wrong device, well 2 devices and you inhale 3 times more heat then average ciggarete then are 99.99% people vape with this kind of heat because i read alot of vaporizers, watch youtube videos etc and no1 mention anything about too much heat.

Is 12mg 50/50 vg/pg have anything about it?
In d16 i changed 3 coils 0.5 ohm and same thing its too hot.

Is there something wrong with evic vtc dual settings? I really dont know what kind of questions to ask what is wrong..

Are you trying to drag in it like a cigarette. Maybe pull more air into your lungs with the .5ohms coil. More like direct to lung

I've vaped at less than 10w since 2014. It's ALWAYS safe to use LESS power! It might not work at all, but yeah, it's SAFE! If you want it to feel more like a cigarette, then sub-ohm really isn't for you; you need coils that are at least 1 ohm or higher and FAR less wattage -- my own coils (which I make) are just under 2 ohms, and I vape them at 9.6w to 10w, because the sensation of hitting a cigarette (suction) is EXACTLY what I want, just not the nasty taste/smell of a cigarette, or burning my lips.

Oh and also, @aaaaaa21 -- to feel more like a cigarette, you need a driptip (the part that goes between your lips) MUCH narrower than the current crop of "huffing tips" that are popular nowadays. Dunno about you, but I never ever huffed my cigarettes... only that other smokable stuff. ;) With higher resistance, lower wattage, a narrow-aperture driptip, and if you're real lucky a tobacco-ish ejuice, you can VERY closely approximate the feeling of smoking -- I vaped an ejuice called "Virginia" when I started, and it was very close to the taste of the VA Slims I smoked for 30+ yrs; sometimes I'd take a hit and nearly panic, "OMG, I'm in the house!" Then realize "Oh yeah, I'm ALLOWED to do THIS indoors!" :giggle:

hmm....2 devices and nothing^^

Before i do anything else is someone know where to get 1.5/2 ohm coils for evic vtc dual and 1.5/2 ohm coils for d16 (EU)? i just want to try every single thing because i cant tell you how dissapointed i am :/

I have all default what i got with evic vtc dual including 0.5ohm coils and d16 aio

https://imgur.com/a/6qscr3p

edit: d16 aio with it i ordered 3x 0.5 ohm coils thought i wont order it for a month but...

Maybe you got good eu webshop link which sells coils for evic dual and d16?

When you take a pull or drag do you do it like a cigarette? Don't make a sucking action like a cigarette. Try like breathing through a straw. Directly into lungs. Not into mouth then inhale. Other than that I don't know. More airflow less heat. Coils probably aren't the issue. It's your airflow. All the .5ohm coils will hit the same.

But those who are using vaping to quit smoking usually WANT something similar to a cigarette, and if it's not, it';s not going to satisfy that urge -- as I pointed out, I NEVER huffed a cigarette, and if you try to breathe directly into your lungs thru a straw, you're gonna drown!

As I've said over and over, the vaping industry has just fucking run off and left smokers who want to switch to vaping, and this is a perfect example.

Oh yeah I agree with you. MTL is hard to find now for the beginner. Either pods or rtas like the berserker and such. Kinda throws you off

Yeah I'm thinking something like a Juul would be a much better intro for someone wholly new to vaping -- which doesn't mean that the hardware you have now is useless, @aaaaaa21, but simply that it might be better to put it aside for a while, and get a Juul for now. Once you get more used to vaping, you may actually WANT to go that "huffing" route, a lot of vapers do, these days. It's just not really terribly suitable for brand new vapers who just want to replace cigarettes -- the hot "huffing" hardware is more about making those obscene CLOUDZ BRO.

No idea about that 2nd one, but they probably don't exist, for the first one. It's meant to be a sub-ohm atomizer, so probably no "over-ohm" coils are available. (ETA: I gather you're talking about the Ultimo atomizer? the "evic VTC dual" is the mod.)

I don't agree. I started with vape pens at 18-24 Mg/Ml, and it didn't do much to make me quit, I didn't even really want to quit, but after getting my first VW mod, and Aspire Atlantis, I never bothered buying another pack of stinkys.

Yes, it was different than smoking, not similar at all. Which is probably for me at least, why it was effective. By not mimicking and reinforcing the habit, it provided me the opportunity for the first time to be sure that I need not worry that I was not getting the Nic I needed, and gave my deadened tastebuds the opportunity to taste the flavor of the juice. New vapers think they want MTL. They also think they want tobacco flavored juice.

Some people prefer MTL, some don't. The CE5 clearomiser would never have induced me to quit. The Atlantis did the job. I'm really happy that the manufactures improved the hardware.

Vaping technology has come so far so fast, and thank God it has. The amount of starter kits, really good starter kits has never been so plentiful. Why? because the manufactures realize where their new customers will come from.

Nature abhors a vacuum. If there was a bonafide shortage of MTL devices, believe me, some Chinese company would fill that void. Fast.

Are there more choices available to the non MTL majority? I think so. Is that in some way wrong? Only if somebody feels that others are doing it wrong, and should have to vape the right way, like they do. Classic passive aggressive behavior.

As in all things, over time the market is the best indicator of what people want. Vaping is so much more common than it was 5 years ago, and I think the manufactures deserve a great deal of credit for providing better, and better hardware all the time.

I don't have a problem with the industry making cloud-chasing stuff, but they should NOT have stopped making good MtL stuff, because the real strength of vaping is being able to customize it to one's own needs. But nowadays, unless a vaper started vaping back when good MtL hardware was available, one just can't get a vape that resembles smoking at all.

If I hadn't been able to vape in such a way that it CLOSELY RESEMBLED smoking, i'd never have been able to quit -- because I didn't want to quit smoking, I just wanted to be a non-smoker without any of the suffering that goes with quitting. Vaping, tight-draw MtL with an ejuice that resembled the taste of Va Slims, gave me EXACTLY that.

Sure, there are a FEW MtL devices available... a FEW... and none of them are very good. The only one I've tried that even came CLOSE to the greatness of my Achilles RDA is the Caiman v4 RDA... but it's still just a mite too airy, at 1.7mm internal airhole (the tightest option it offers). I fixed that by cutting off a 16ga blunt needle and putting it down the internal airhole -- but it would have been better if they'd provided a 1mm or 1.2mm option. the flavor... well, it's better than any tanks, but still not as rich and saturated as the Achilles. I've got 3 pf the Caimans now, so if something happens to my Achilles, I can keep vaping... but I won't be very happy.

But neither RTAs nor RDAs are suitable for new vapers. There needs to be some new tanks with replaceable coils, the kind of hardware that's suitable for newbies, which offers an adjustable tight-to-moderate draw, and decent flavor. Right now, that critter does not exist. Except for maybe the new version of the Nautilus.

LOL, Whenever I used to try to get my girlfriend to try a new flavor in my mod she'd look down at the drip tip and say "the hole is too big" :giggle:

She knows that the tanks that have drip tips with the smaller hole in the center are the ones that don't make her cough.

I solved it by putting a few smaller drip tips in my bag so when I want her to try a flavor I just put a smaller tip on, turn the wattage about halfway down, and turn the airflow to the lowest setting before I even ask her to try it.

I also set her up with a Coolfire IV w/ Kanger TopTank with 1.2 ohm coils.
At around 15 to 20 watts she's able to vape without coughing.

The Aspire Nautilus AIO is sold ad a "pod style" device but it uses Aspire Nautilus 1.8ohm BVC coils at 12watts is a great new beginner device

No settings or flashy shit you don't understand or won't use.

Just, install coil, fill, charge, vape, Repeat.
Easy Peasy.

And for the record, I'd like to point out I've never once said anything about how the world would be a better place if everybody incapable of understanding Ohm's law succumbed to stinkys. Not even once have I said that. That would be very mean.

Or even hopefully before they reproduce. Never said that either. :D

I hope you didnt forget me :)

Got Nautilus 2, put 0.7 ohm coil (dont ask what happend with 1.8ohm), 18W, 280°, max airflow, thinked about everything including driptip so i realize nautilus 2 driptip gets warmer vapor because of design
41FTlxbZPqL._SY355_.jpg

So i put driptip from aio d16 which gives more space (like last one but without these things inside)

5f9ac4f25ec6375152701ef9cb94df0f.png

Fits perfectly, then i changed way how to vape: inhale->power->inhale->power->inhale inhaling in 1 time ofc^^ but its like 0.2 sec delay between bold text because i read somewhere or watched i dont remember anyway to inhale first then press power button, and last bold text power->inhale is delay just to get again more cooler vape.

I used 12mg nicotine because most of ppl recommend 12mg when switching from ciggaretes so i got heat again, then i ordered 1 with 6mg 70/30 and 1 with 3 mg 50/50, when i got it i put 3mg 50/50 and its sooooo much better. I also ordered more 0.7 and 1.8ohm coils (1.8ohm just to see difference). Anyway now its almost perfect :)

Geez, you'd have to be a master of coordination to inhale that way, that's ridiculous. Press button, inhale. Simple. If you can't do it that simply, the power or heat setting is too high, or the resistance too low, or both.

I'm gonna say it was the nicotine. Went from a 12mg to a 6mg and even 3. Subohm some 12nic That"Burns like hot fire." In my best Jamaican voice. Well I may be wrong. Drip tip probably helped some. . Maybe going from .5 to a .7 ohm coil was the trick. Spinning in circles here. Lol

Using 0.7ohm coil, this is from mod:
Power: 18W
Volt: 3.70v
Coil: 0.76
TEMP SS316 280°
TCR 120 M3 280° 18W Coil: 0.78 (this part is confusing, i have no idea what is it, manual is disaster).

Yes, problem was nicotine.

I don't think you should be in temp control mode. There should be a way to change to watts or power mode not 280 TCR. Unless I'm thinking of the wrong coil

Start LOW then increase as needed my coils say 30-60 and I'm at 25. Those numbers are more of a sweet spot for the coil

I can't believe the mod would even fire the coil. Seems like mod is in Temp Control mode and those Nauti 2 coils are Kanthal if I'm not mistaken.

OP: Mod needs to be set to Manual or Wattage mode, and you should be somewhere between 15 and 22W, using juice that is 50/50, 40/60, or 35/65 (all pg/vg ratios). You should be able to find out how to do this by using the manual that came with your mod.

The sites I just checked do not offer any coils for the Ultimo tank with a resistance higher than 0.5 ohm. You can generally run a 0.5 ohm ceramic coil at 28-32 watts, though, and if you are inhaling properly, the vapor won't be hot at that wattage. Open your airflow on the tank, and draw the vapor into your throat and lungs, rather than into your mouth. You have to sort of open up the back of your throat to do this.

I hope this guy finally understands that he needs to get out of temp control mode.

I did what he's doing by accident one time a good while back and it wasn't pretty to the tune of a single hit and a coil gone.
