New here, and fairly new to vaping. I bought an Aspire Breeze 2 and quit smoking more than two months ago. I quickly realized I wanted more out of vaping, but I was extremely intimidated by mods. I ended up buying an Aspire K4 several weeks ago. It's decent, but leaky and I'm ready to step it up

I've been looking at Voopoo Drag mini and Geekvape Aegis Mini, but I can't decide, and I'm not knowledgeable enough to make an informed decision.

Anyone have suggestions for me? I'm open to anything that's going to give me a quality vaping experience. I want something that isn't too heavy, and is user friendly. Help a girl out!

I do not have either but have handled both. From reading they both perform well, again from reading. From handling I can say the Aegis is built extremely tough. So if you are like me and have a case of the dropsies? I would opt for durability. Someone with actual knowledge will come by soon though. And welcome.

Welcome to VU and congrats on quitting. It can be tough to make a recommendation without knowing a bit more. What are you looking for, flavor, clouds, both? Do you want a complete kit, or a mod and then add your own tank? Do you want to stick with internal battery or are you willing to go with removable battery(s)? Of the two you mentioned, either would be a good choice.

Pretend I know very little about mods lol. I value flavor over cloud production, but like both. Internal battery isn't a must. I have been looking at mini mods simply for convenience, but I really just want a good device that isn't too heavy. A kit would be what I will buy, and I'll consider adding a different tank later.

After viewing lots if threads here, I'm also looking at Vaporesso Luxe, and Smoant Naboo, but they seem a little on the fragile side. Sturdy is important, but I don't want a brick either. Asmodus minikin v2 looks decent... Smoant Battlestar as well.

I am fed up with this leaky Cleito tank, so I am looking to buy a mod kit or mod and new tank this week. Getting desperate!

Welcome to VU and congratulations.

Do you like the draw and/or the flavor you get from the Cleito?

Ok, after much research and some consideration on what i actually want, I've narrowed it down to either:

Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 DUAL 230W or the Minikin V2.

Anyone help between these two?

I have the tank sorted, I'm going with the Horizon Falcon

Minikin. Wismec has 510 connector issues. (Thing the tank screws into on the mod).

Good choice on the tank.

Pick up some VTC5a batteries from IMR or Liion Wholesale to be sure you are not getting counterfeit batteries.

Welcome to VU, congrats on quitting!:confetti:

Congratulations on switching and welcome to the forum:wave:

I know for a fact that the regular voopoo drag V1 and V2 are very heavy so there is a good possibility that the mini's are unnaturally heavy.

The Geekvape Aegis Mini seems like a great choice but it depends on how much more you want out of vaping.

Before choosing a mod you should think about the tank you are getting.want.

If you end up with a tank that takes coils that need 80 or 90 watts of power you will be nearly maxing out the chip on the single battery mod.

Not only will you get poor battery life but you are stressing the chip and battery to the max.

If you see a tank you like that offers 0.4 ohm coils and up then you'd be good to go.

I have a single battery mod with a 0.5ohm coil set at 34 watts and the battery life is great..

Also there are many mod kits that come with a tank, mod, and a couple of coils that may be something to look into because it's much easier to make a choice if the tank is already paired with the mod.

Isn't that Minikin V2 a dual cell mod?
Agree on choosing a mod that has more power available than the tank requires.

Is that not a good choice for the Horizon Falcon?

Any dual cell mod would power it fine. Single cell, not so much. From everything I see, the minikin v2 is a dual cell mod.

Past that, just depends on which dual cell you want. Minikin is all metal so it will not be lightweight but I'm sure it not the heaviest dual cell mod either. Maybe people have a suggestion for a compact, dual cell, plastic or some kind of composite body with a good chip and not a ton of money... if not, the minikin is a good mod. A friend has one.

So I can’t find a color in the minikin I want from a seller I trust. And quite possibly, I may try to hunt down a Kodama since @MannyScoot keeps flashing his around and giving me serious mod envy :teehee: But that will have to wait until after The holidays.

I did order a drag mini in Prussian blue because it’s purty and I need a mini to replace the K4 I’ve been using.

Unless it's a single 21700 I agree. I use a Falcon on one. The battery/mod fires it right up at 80W and lasts quite a while. It hits immediately and hard. There's very little ramp with mesh coils.

I also have a Gen3 Dual. It's a solid very small/short device for a dual 18650. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 510 connector. It's not press fitted like the Predator. It works great.

Got the wife a pink eLeaf Pico Mega a while back. It's a single battery, but it can use 18650 or 26650.

She seems to get pretty good battery life with the 26650, vaping at 40w with the Melo III tank.

Elementvape has them at $35, but you can probably find them cheaper (and in other colors) if you shop around.

True but for subohm tanks asking for 80w+, dual is the better choice IMO. Most single cell mods are still 18650 and 80w is a fail with that battery choice... for now. I expect more mods will be 2x700 in 2019 and beyond.
My wife runs 60w with a single 2x700 mod and gets through the day just. fine and I'm sure could run 80w running out of power just at the end of the day but getting through the day none the less. So for sure you do not have to have a dual cell mod to power a high wattage subohm tank... but generally, that's what I would suggest.

I'm still a fan of Kanger toptank mini. 80w, removable battery (1 in mod, 1 on charger = no down time)
The included tank comes with a 0.50ohm and 0.30 ohm factory made coil PLUS an RBA mini coil that you can easily replace the coil and wick at any time. Like any tank, close the airflow when not in use, such as overnight.

I cant speak for rtas because i havnt owned one but i jumped straight from a nrg tank to a dripper and havnt looked back i suppose rta if you want to go for tank but honestly all this stuff isnt overly technical. Id just have a gander at the 150w plus duel 18650s theyv got sum pretty good veriety ranging from size, weight and style as long as you grab something you like the look and feel of within your price range you cant go wrong. But make sure its up there in power so youv got options. As for battery life duel vtc 6a (3000mah = battery life) and 30 amp for utter safety and determine the life youl get before recharge everything else is quite subjective. Im currently running the asvape michael pretty good looking mod high power output for a modest price the asmodus and vicious ants are great mods dont get me wrong but your lookin at 300 plus for the stabilized wood versions were my michael was 100 bux lol so yeah. My viking tubes a bit of fun but it requires learning how to use a calculator LOL so yeah my ohmboy rage was great but its 150w doest cut it for my .09 builds and my switcher is not asthetically pleasing see were im going with this?

I recommend acquiring both because eventually you will have them both since you are already looking at them.

Good Luck and Vape On Safely~! :coffee2:

Going to add.. if you want to spend your money once on a good product.... Aegis 200w by GeekVape...and RDTA combo.. (by ijoy)
RDTA combo because you can get 6 deck set ups, with the build features of an RDA plus the added tank feature for when you are out and dont feel like dripping..
Next..
Aegis 200w.. 200w power right up until low battery shut off
Drop resistant up to 2M (about 7 feet)
Dust resistant
WATER resistant

I posted a vid on here where the tester actually hit it about 40 feet with an aluminum bat. Battery door came offf and power button, but when he put the battery door back on and put in batteries.. IT STILL worked!
photo_00001.jpg photo_00002.jpg photo_00003.jpg
now if you could attach a snorkel to the drip tip.. underwater vaping? lol jk

I concur sir sounds like a home run with the bases loaded.
Underwater vaping ayeee sounds like a winner. Could have clouds bro bubble comps see whose bubble releases the most vapour.

It's not so much about the clouds. Some of my coil builds are quite heavy for flavor. Example, a 26gax3 core clapton is a pretty heavy coil. Basically 200W will push nearly any coil you want to build. Mind you, you can build even heavier coils, that need more power, but 200w is usually plenty.

Where is the Logic in recommending an RDA/RDTA to someone new to vaping?
There is none. People forget that. If you are looking to turn someone off to vaping right away lets go ahead and put more on their plate than they can handle.

Why do people make it seem like were learning newtonian physics? Its not the general theory of vapeativity or a unified cloud theory its wires wrapped in a circle around a pole atatched with 2 or maybe 4 screws to a post (most the time coils are premade) so you just have to no how to use a screw driver and how to stuff cotton in a hole. Wait you guys are the kinda people that call a sparky to change your light bulbs huh? Regulated mods are safe as houses and the rest is fidgety but its not neurobiology.

You realise when your eating steak AND veg you require a knofe AND a for aye? Or is that to much on your plate better to become a vegan and eat out of a plastic cup with a spork haha

That isn't my point at all. I didn't say it was too difficult to learn. I said put more on their plate. When I was new to vaping, trying to quit smoking, learn how an rda works, what kind of juice i like, what kind of coils work best, what batteries I need, what brand of cotton I like, watching videos on how to make coils, reviews on which rda is best, was a little more than I would have decided to stick with.

Emphasis on knofe and for
Lol I like comparing vaping to eating a steak AND vegetables though. I also like how our disagreement was taken as a personal attack because differing opinions BAD! Look at the end of the day, if you look at her post up there, she said she was buying a kit. So, I think based on her attitude alone trying to get her into an RDA now is not what she is looking for. I only vape RDA/RDTA at this point, but it took me a year to get to that point. I don't see the harm in trying to keep her with something simple that she will enjoy rather than giving her something more difficult that she may not and then have her go back to smoking.
