Squonkers are Bonkers

I've run 30ml thru it already and it's pretty easy to fill. The bottle cap on the mod is a little finicky getting the first thread started but once you get it going it seals tight. I haven't had any juice leaks on the bottle or 510 end so it's working effectively for me at the moment. The battery door/bottle cover is also a little finicky in this one, there's a spring loaded connection near the hinge that completed the circuit from the door to the mod body that seems to want to get in the way of closing the door smoothly. Other than those little niggles it's been performing pretty good.

It's a tall mod and got a nice hand feel. The squonk hole is large enough for a two finger squeeze if you like. The fire button is easy to fire no matter how you have the mod oriented in your hand and it doesn't fire your mod or change your wattage due to accidentally pressing the buttons while squonking on these side style squonk holes.

I've only used it in wattage mode and have no interest in updating the firmware to get Temp control but from what I've heard, updating the firmware is a PITA with arcane button press sequences while plugging in the usb to the computer. Those who updated did mention that the TC read a little high but was smooth and very good.

So if your on the fence, there's more good to it than bad in my book, to me it's worth the money.
Thanks for all the info bubba.
Looks like I'll be spending some money soon on this thingy...Cheers!

It's the Simple Ex squonk.
Oh how you liking it.
My single gripe about is the seriously low built in battery 850 mah
I know it is supposed to be for newbie vaper's but I'd crush a 850 mah battery in about half an hour or less.Which is the only reason I haven't gotten 1 yet.

This is built for MTL salts. You use a coil at around 1.25 ohm so 850 mah is easily a day of vape. You cannot chain vape 25 mg salts for long - trust me.
Ok, now I really like it:vino:
How tight is the draw? Cyclone v1 tight?

It is very adjustable atomizer. You can go extremely tight or you can have a restricted DL. I am in the middle running it at 3.6V ... it is a decent MTL draw. Restricted but not too much there. I might drop to 18mg salt at 3.9V in fact. It still maybe 3 amps and is around 11 watts. So 850 MaH is a lot for that.

Cyclone v1? Yup! The original ones are among the best MTL rdas. I have a couple of them and along with the Nuppins, they are definite keepers. Many Cyclone v1s have been drilled more or less so finding one in pristine condition is difficult but not impossible.

hmm, need more pictures of this...but if its a true single coil similar to the full sized, this might be interesting.

upload_2018-10-28_8-12-58.png

Base is still 22 it seems, but the chamber looks to be 16mm.

Renderings are stupid I know...by looking at the base, the top cap doesn't align with the well wall...so I'm thinking it drops down inside the well wall and the "Beauty ring" thingymabob has an O ring to secure to the cap... really would be weird if it was compression... meaning twist the beauty ring to tighten down the cap. Hell the top cap could be all one piece and the o rings still on the well walls like normal...speculation lol

I deducted 16mm chamber by looking at the 22mm base (Assumed) then the 1mm ledge (20mm) 1mm thick ledge wall (18mm) then 1mm thick cap walls, 16mm ;)

I figured I'd just load it up with my usual stuff (6mg)
Not sure where I could get my hands on coils that high in resistance though.
I just can't make my own anymore.Last time I tried to roll up my own coil it took me 48 minutes to make a simple single coil.My hands hurt like crazy afterwards too.
If you know where I can get some decent hi-res coils let me know.Otherwise I'm gonna have to shelve the idea of getting that Simple EX.

In an odd way it reminds me of the Derringer.

Just saw this cool looking cheap RDA from Innokin and no it ain't that weird Thermo.
Not sure if it is a squonk though.Still looks nice and at just $15 bucks for an Innokin product well the price is hard to beat IMHO.

Here's a decent review below.

No worries I found some while searching for a decent price on the device in question.
$32.81 for the device & $3.25 for 100 coils. So I should be good to go for quite some time.

well that was close, but no banana :|

Browsing ole Faceslut adds and come across a NarDa Deck being sold below RRP... was missing the positive pin, but otherwise in great shape.

Pm'd him 2 minutes after the person who bought it. Add was up for 4 minutes when I saw it...

Retail for the deck is $69

Guilty as charged :D

My vaping style has evolved to something with more air and lower ohm coils so unfortunately my beloved Nuppins have been shelved :(
Understandable. I seem to remember you know a guy that could make a cap for the Nuppin, dual coils ought drop the ohms to your range....:vino:

Still can't fit a Clapton coil in a Nuppin even if I make a larger chambered cap with more airflow.

Been diggin single Clapton's in the .12 to .2 ohm range lately. I've been needing more heat and denser clouds to get satisfied anymore.

I've also been rocking the Freemax Mesh Pro tanks when I'm not squonking and those tanks with the "mesh" coils are the bomb for my current vaping needs.

The Wotofo Profile RDA looks promising too. I've been looking to get a couple to try on the Topsides but my regular US venders currently don't have them in stock and I'm not going thru the China route again.

It's a shame, I've amassed quite a collection of expensive vaping gear over the years that just sit cause they don't do it for me anymore due to my evolving vaping needs.

I think most of us are in the same boat to some extent, tons of gear not being used because our vaping wants/needs change over time. Oddly enough, my vaping goes in circles it seems, I seem to be slowly going back to MTL (though I never left it really ). So hang on to your favorite gear, you might just rediscover why you liked it at some point in time.

The profile is very good.It is my first try with a mesh rda,but it is by far the best rda i have used. The draw is very smooth, and it puts out great flavor.
Eightvape has them in stock for $24.99 plus shipping, mine came from them, first time ordering from them, but i bought it Thursday and got it Saturday.I'll definitely be picking up a few more of these,it's the only rda i want to use now haha.

I had just pulled out my very first setup ever.Namely a Volcano Inferno (an ego type that doesn't have the outer ego threading:crazy:)
I was honestly surprised how much I still liked it even if it was way too tight to get even the slightest lung hit on.At least not without feeling like my lungs were going to implode. That frigging super-tight carto-tank dang near got me.But it still works and is a good little piece of gear.So long as you only use it for MTL vaping!
Oy Vey...Sigh!
Yeah I'd say for me at least it's been a long strange trip.

Drexel VI NET. Smells good. This tobacco is mostly latika, with some oriental and Virginia

19fd1e57a27171fe85cb3083d42b3884.jpg
Back when I smoked pipes I probably would have wanted to reverse that recipe.More than 10% Latikia would be quite soapy tasting at least to me.I can handle about 25% Perique though. But I'd never mix the 2 in a blend ever. They wind up fighting each other rather than playing nicely.Funny thing is I had no problem with 100% Turkish.Or 100% Red or Black Virginia.Although I preferred to cut either with some (Old Belt Carolina) but I'm just weird and old fashioned that way.

I don't think you'll be disappointed at all.I have a lot of rda's,and i don't want to use any of them now except the profile. The airflow wide open is smooth as butter,no turbulence at all.The mesh that comes with it is good too,it's kanthal at .18 ohms.I've been using SS wire the last few years,so i wasn't really interested in the kanthal, but it's actually very nice.I want to get some SS mesh to try out too,but i'll stock up on their 10 packs of mesh also.I'm definitely buying at least 2 more of the rda's too.

Try my luck at the list for the Day-Won RDA or just suck it up and use what I like (NarDa) rather than succumb to the Shiney lol

I do like the single sided air flow though, reminds me of the Le Concorde, which is second for me to the NarDa $87...decisions

Strangely, i'm using the RDA everone knocks on my I'm ... the layercake. I have no leaking. I made sure there was enough cotton to soak up the juice. Flavor is good and it looks sleek. I'm 3.jpg

Layercake looked interesting til it was pointed out that if yer coil legs slip to the middle....kablam, there's no insulation protecting the center-thing from conducting a short. But I see they added notches to help prevent that...I might give it a shot one of these days (when I start buying RDA's again)...

Build it correctly and the coil legs won't touch the middle. I never had an issue. It's like saying a battery can tear and short.
