How do I prevent the room from filling up so much that the smoke alarm goes off?

I'd bet against her. Being intelligent does not make one an expert in everything. The smart and humble ones should know that. The smart and arrogant ones don't.

She's definitely arrogant but I trust her when it comes to a lot of shit, especially legal and medical. I hate Psychology though, which is what she got her PhD in.

She is certainly no expert on vaping. I would trust all of the well informed gardeners and store clerks on here before your anti vape pseudo-doctor-psychology-wife-overlord.

People around here put in the time and do the research dude, your wife likely read an article and thinks she is an expert. Folks on here can tell you all kinds of fun shit, if you are willing to listen.

A part of me still thinks you are screwing around.

You're very sweet jwill. I don't have much more to talk about though. I'll let her know about the formaldehyde thing and post what she says.

Is there any other side effects of vaping that I should be aware of that are detrimental to my health? Any more suggestions as to how I can keep a room clear of fog?

Without windows, your next best bet is a fan or vaping outside. If you have AC in the basement turn on the fan when in it when you are vaping.

Kind of a shit setup for blowing clouds, frankly.

I am sure there are some contraptions that the 420 folks use but I dont know what they are or are called. Might do some research.

He only side effect I’m aware of is that Vaping can give you the labido of an 18 year old frat boy.

Nope. She is a 3rd degree judo kickboxing head doctor, with a penchant for assaulting people and controlling those she can dominate.

But does she wear stilettos, fishnets and carry a whip?
Uhhh. Wow you just made me think of the days when we first started dating and she was sending me pictures of her stiletto heels and fishnet leggings... uhhh what did I get myself into?!!?!?S:??

She had to declare her limbs as deadly weapons at one point in her life.

Nope. She said that burning liquid above 8 watts causes a chemical reaction that results in formaldehyde..

Ask her at 8 watts what ohms would the resistance of the coil need to be to produce formaldehyde.

She'll either give you the deer in the headlights look or quickly make something up.

If you get an answer post it here.
Many. many, scientists across the world would love to know;)

So she says that it's heat that produces formaldehyde. She doesn't remember the exact temperature but once the coils reach that temperature you are getting formaldehyde (as she says).

I got it!
Get a temp control mod and keep the temperature set at a little below that temperature.

Nobody except Chuck Norris has to declare their limbs as deadly weapons. Now you just are not telling the truth Poppins.

Formaldehyde is also a naturally occurring chemical in the brain/human body. It's found in diet soda, apples, bananas, onions, some meats, etc. So if i'm running a fever, I guess the natural formaldehyde in my body is going to "damage" me. And if I saute those onions with a well done steak, I'm signing my own death warrant. o_O

Nice try. Your scientific facts have no power here!

She has a PHD Teresa! DUH!

There's nothing you can say that she hasn't already chosen to ignore.

ha...word play is fun.

Ah yes, the old formaldehyde. :)

There is a professor from Graz, Austria ... a very well known and respected guy, who made a good comparison.

This is a rough translation:

Measurements have shown that 10 draws from an e-cigarette (they say "with the usual power") contain about 0.004mg Formaldehyde.
1kg Bananas contain 16.3mg Formaldehyde. That means eating 1kg of Bananas equals roughly 40750 draws from an e-cigarette.

i've been taking stealth hits of formaldehyde all morning in my office. I can't get enough. I need to up my formaldehyde levels.
So all this time they've been warning us that nicotine is addictive, they were WRONG...it's the FORMALDEHYDE we're hooked on! (***takes mega power hit from squonk mod, collapses in a heap of banana nut bliss****)

Nope. She said that burning liquid above 8 watts causes a chemical reaction that results in formaldehyde. I wouldn't bet against her either. She's really smart... like incredibly smart.

Thanks for the links Andria. I don't have the time to go through all of them, right now at least. I don't want to confront my wife on this though because she will get loud and it will hurt my eardrums.
Above 8 watts in a clearo that was used in many of the early tests may well produce some bad stuff.
Since those attys will burn the eliquid at above 8 watts due to their limited design anf being designed to work on dinky little batteries (ego).
However it is not the same in a larger coil/wick atty.
It is about coil temperature not watts.

10 miles an hour on a tricycle is kinda dangerous, not so in an automobile.
30 watts in a new atomizer can run at a cooler coil temperature than the tiny clearo coil did at 8 watts.

Your wife may be very smart but believes the wrong fake news.
I take it her PHD is not in material sciences? ie engineering, etc.

More mass of the coil requires more watts to heat to the same temperature.

And even if you do overheat ejuice it seems to produce far less bad things than does smoking.

Ahh that explains it not a technical/materials PHD.

I know people with PHD's that are hard pressed to change a lightbulb.

Not sure how being married to someone with a psych PHD would work out for me....

Idk what it is with people these days, but the majority of college kids are not very intelligent.

We've had 3 people come to my work straight out of college and they frustrated me to the point that I wanted to rip my eyes out.

They might have a degree but they have zero common sense, critical thinking or problem solving skills. Those 3 people no longer work here lol.

My 14 year old step son is the same way. He couldn't even hook up a computer the other day. I told him, each cord is shaped to fit into the corresponding hole lol. uggggghhhhhhhhh

Because of this, I make it a point to let my 3 year old daughter try to figure things out and give her pointers if needed; As opposed to just doing it for her.
