Soon enough you'll be rolling out frapples if you aren't already.Picture gives me an idea & even a howto. Kinky, I like it.
Now figuring out what to do with ribbon kanthal wire, the picture helped.

See this is why I just buy coils for my RSA's or coil-heads for Tanks.Nope not there just yet. This darn crud is being a malingering pain in the caboose. Know damn well it's the weather & pollen. I was over it but then woke back to it this morning. My left eye is crying all day. Blasted sinuses.
Will get to making up some staple coils though. I hadn't quite thought of the why to my getting some sample lengths of ribbon wire. I kept piddling in making fused Claptons but thought "there's gotta be more to this". Now, I see there is for sure.
I'll get there.
Hm, got a spool of 32 awg Kanthal round & one of 0.1*0.5 kanthal ribbon. Thought I had some 28 awg round, bugger to find it at the mo. Prolly need to order some more, that or 26 awg. ah well reckon the 32 awg can wrap the ribbon.
-- Nope, gonna end up wasting wire. Not that I mind too much in learning but it's not beneficial, as in I'm not seeing a 'product' out of it. Might need different gauge of wire/s. Figure I do, also figure i'm setting about it wrong headed. More likely I do need a machine of some sort to adjust tensions more precise than I'm doing by hand and hope.

Fasttech coils? Really? With the shitty Chinese Crapwire, totally miss/false labeling such a waste of money. Just get quality real Sanvick wire and make basic, twisted or parallel coils and get significantly better coils cheaper. They're so cheap and easy to make its boarder line brain dead unless you have a physical limitation. Hell I even met someone that was legally blind who made his own coils.*snarfs, clears throat* "Pussy." *grin*
Yes, I take your point. Some times buying the already done up 'solution' just is the better way to facilitate. Sure as Hell beats flogging that dead assed horse. Know that from using $3 a pack 100 piece Kanthal 24 awg at .50 ohm coils shipped from Fast Tech. I couldn't make those up given what I figure cost of my labor & then consistant accuracy, just not gonna happen until I set up a full on mechine shop with full CMS. *cough* As if that's coming out o' my ass any time soon.

You have physical issues (yeah I'm old and it's creeping in also) so yes there is a a reason. Even with that I think you'd be better off getting coils from our resident suppliers here. Like Advanced Vapu, Raymo2u or Crazy Chef. Hell for basic coils I'd shit you out a bunch for only the cost of shipping.I normally do get Temco wire and wind up a bunch of simple coils. What I was getting at however was it is cheaper to use the Fast Tech coils. I've not had any issue with those I got so far, all read to .50 ohms as labeled. I could spend $6 for a 100 ft spool of the Temco Kanthal, but not get a guaranteed 100 pieces to come out consistently at .50 ohms if I used a metric of $10 hrly to make them up. I do have some dextarity issues between arthritis and nerve damage. Granted, I do have days I do well, other days it's just not happening. There again comes back to consistancy. In that case to me, even if there's risk of getting degraded product, still better odds with them running the computer/controlled machining system and popping out 100 coils in ten minutes as to me taking a few hours with no guaranteed consistancy.
There's a new unlisted vendor for coils also. Captains coils. @peglegmeg. She makes some great stuff. And with awesome pricing. You have physical issues (yeah I'm old and it's creeping in also) so yes there is a a reason. They have a wide variety, besides the coils will last months so it's all perspective. I spin my own and I have a couple that are over 6 months old unlike the cheap Chinese shitwire coils that'd last maybe a monthSome of @raymo2u's & I figure @CrazyChef v2.0 's coil artistry, well, wow it's just that artistry. I can indeed see how they can charge nice prices for coils. Would like to eventually make coils as such as they do. But not all of us are the artist nor can we all afford art. Awful pretty to look at though.

And definitely not bad price for someone who knows how much work goes into making coils. Like staple staggered fused clapton to me is a pain. Others whip them out. I don't mind buying them for said price because it's easier for me than making.I dont think I charge extravagant prices, about half the cost of what I see most companies charging....Now people put in the time and effort and they can charge at any cost they think is suitable but Ive never seen the need to charge more than what I would consider necessary but thats just me, but Im not running a business that I solely rely on. I also always throw in spares/samples of other coils with every order.
$14/pair of Aliens with a sample pack of coils is almost as low as Chinese coils of the same type, with it being handmade and a better supply of wire... Just wanted to state my case, I understand it may not convince anyone and everyone has the right to choose what they decide on. Just wanted to share my thoughts/plugg but dont feel shamed or obligated
I know your claptons are priced at $25 for 10 coils and come with a 30ml bottle of e-liquid @V³.I dont think I charge extravagant prices, about half the cost of what I see most companies charging....Now people put in the time and effort and they can charge at any cost they think is suitable but Ive never seen the need to charge more than what I would consider necessary but thats just me, but Im not running a business that I solely rely on. No shit??? I just ordered a 100ml to try it. I like the fact that the description says it's a lighter strawberry flavor. I'm not a fan of most strawberry cream type juices - they're usually to heavily strawberry and not enough cream for me.Ive vaped atleast 10 of their 16oz jugs of StrawberryMilkshake.
Their Strawberry Cheesecake is also good, its not overly potent like most mainstream juices....Its a bit less "In your face", which allows you to vape it much longer without the flavor becoming muted/unnoticeable.No shit???
