Go with the 36k x 24s this way you have a clean crisp flavor and if you ever need the option for temp control you can get temperature control
Hybrid material coils using SS and NI80 are pretty close in flavor, the difference being SS can be used with temperature control, the readings of both are pretty close with each other。

Will be the odd lot and devil's advocate. 
I like the idea of the 24 awg SS as wraps, or even the 24 awg K as wraps. Although I also might turn it around and use the 36 awg as wrap but SS/K. Might even do 36 awg x 2/3 for the core. Did a triple core 26 awg SS w/ 30 awg SS recently and found it did well. Yeah, I know that's not exactly an Alien. Leave me be. *chuckles* I can calls it a turd or Holy poo bomber coil if'n I want. *chuckles & grins*
I been dodging away from N wire, it simply has had an "off" taste for me and recall something of a caution from welding. Nickel doesn't settle well in the lungs & Chrome gives the liver a lot of loving. *grin* YMMV of course, and not telling you what to do merely expressing my own experience and opinion based on that, take or leave as you see fit.

Well a tri-core fused clapton rocks, I like it as much or even more as an Alien depending on the atty.
I've been assuming the 24 and 26ga being the cores by the way
A 36ga core with a 24ga wrap sounds interesting, but could put a bit too much strain on the core imo.
After all that thing needs to heat up the wraps.
A triple or even quad 36ga core with a 26ga wrap might be awesome though, possibly even staged, I'll probably give that one a try!

the outer wrap will dictate flavour on single core
higher awg [thinner] = sharper flavour
and i'd avoid kanthal [the k] to avoid ramp up, go either ss or ni80

9 wraps will get you around 0.5 Ω, which is pretty decent.
Apologies not checking back in earlier. I kind of drifted off into that odd thing some folks call life, or something, it gets kind of weird. *chuckles*Life? Pah, Humbug
I would try to fit the wraps to the airflow, so the whole coil is hit by the air. 9 sounds about right, depending if you go spaced or micro.
So bottom airflow. Wrap the coils so they are just as wide as the airflow holes ?
Yes for your RTA you will need to make them just as wide or a bit wider to keep cotton from making contact with the air flow holes and spit back. I usually always make my coils cover bottom air flow on any atty. Sometimes you even have to go bit bigger, i.e the reload atty as they are narrow. If the resistance is too high you can always space them out.
I been doing anywhere from 10 to 13 wraps. 10 puts cotton right on edge of airflow even 13 by the time cotton swells it is on edge of airflow holes... I never have spit back. Any leaks is over drip...
I use either a Wasp Nano or a Gorge now mainly. Switch out to a dead Rabbit SQ every so often. Not used some Goon clones, or Velocity clones in a while. I did fiddle with the Velocity the other day. Wrapped up a bit of 26gx2 with 30g SS316, Fused Clapton.
At first I sat it onto the velocity deck and thought, "alright it'll go vertical". Then I just tweaked and nudged it over to come between the posts horizontally. I used 5 wraps around 3mm ID, let it drag around 0.17 to 0.20 ohms. Took a few hits and the battery just chucked out. *grin*
So, while I might like that the build didn't get so hot, I don't like it killing a battery charge to get a few hits. I'll take the build off later on, swap it with something more reasonable. For now, Mr. Gorge is running a 0.5 to 0.7 ohm SS316 Fused Clapton and enjoying it. Off for that

Want to see what the Orange Emperor spouts out for today's quotable quote. *chuckles* Can't be as bad Julianne's, "The truth isn't the truth because it's not my truth or Mr. Trump's truth." Bah, silly suicidal circuses for the masses of molly addled brain pans buying up the flim flams.

I took that top ring off....

Sounds great. I don't think i would want 2 hits killing battery's either...
Yep, it does dampen an otherwise pleasurable vaping experience.
