Yeah, sound like I've had too much wick all 3 times. This is what I have now.

I've mentioned this before but it's been awhile...

I had trouble with the exocet wicking until i found this trick...

When you put the top/chimney on the exo trim the wick flush with it. Use your needle nose tweezers to fluff and tuck the wick inside the chimney. When you install it in the boro put the wick facing the boro glass, not the sides. This allowed me to vape tanks bone dry without dry hits.

Try it...

*Found turning the insider with the juice holes facing the glass helps with it's wicking also

I'm not a smoke nazi. I smoked for 25 years and I really did enjoy it. Sure, the gross aspects of it I don't miss, always stinking, yellow fingers, health wise feel waaaay better, and haven't spent almost $25K on smokes in 4.5 years. If I new I could have a smoke here or there, and not get hooked on it I'd be ok with that. But I'm afraid it's a slippery slope so best I stay away from it and huff on my vapes.

On a related note, my EUC coils have landed in Canada and are at customs. So looks like tomorrow or Monday/Tuesday for those. The MF bridge is lost in tracking hell, I have no idea where it is.

Oh what was it? Opus X? Cuban import?

Sent from the Death Star

As much as I enjoyed Arturo Fuente it wasn't an Opus X...was a Davidoff Platinum Z -Perfecto

Many Cuban cigars are over rated although my favorite was the Cohiba Siglo 4...so hard to get though, and cobs are counterfeited a lot.

If you trim the wick flush with the chimney, wouldn't there be no cotton left to tuck into it?

Ok, my noodles are cooked! Details, where, who, how much?
Let me find the post again... was a guy who converted a DNA40 to 60 and milled out the battery area to barely fit a 20700... I didn't see if he had to mill the door also, or how much of the back side of the battery area...

he mentioned he is going to try and add USB to it too lol

Sounds awesome!
I had a nice Cuban Cohiba about seven years back. Very smooth.
My favorites were usually Maduro... LaGloria Serie R, Partagas Black Label, CAO Brasilia, etc. The cigar bar I used to go to would carry Fuente Short Story. Perfect pairing with two fingers of Bullet!

I don't see how there would be room for your negative contact lol

Not sure... just looking at the picture, I would think the amount of Aluminum he milled out that the factory negative isn't being used anymore and he made it probably similar to the positive.

I think its a bold endeavor to chop up a 40, but I don't think its really necessary in the grand scheme of BBs, I get a solid 2 days on 30Qs... and its not like the 20700s there is much better mAh out there compared to the 3000mAh now... I mean there are 4000mAh 20700 15a batteries, but all that smash for 1000mAh ;)

Yeah I enjoy Maduros... some of my favorite cigars are made by Roma Craft... Cromagnon Series, Intemperance Series.... fucking drooling thinking about those my goodness lol Used to buy boxes of Oliva Serie Vs as daily bangers...Original Murcielagos ( these were hidden gems, I once bought 5 boxes...they didnt last long) Tatuaje's were another love of mine...Love me some Liga Privada 9's, but those changed somewhere during my love affair of them...its only 10:30am and I could really go with a bourbon and stogie now, watch some football later lol

OK ENOUGH of the cigar talk! my goodness hahaha

Wicking on my insider is amazing today. Thanks again for the wicking tutorial.

That sounds like it is working well for you! Congrats on that!
I just changed coil and wick in the little Minifit pod thingamadoodad. I need to order some NR-R-NR kanthal from FT, at 1.08 ohms it is a fair stealth vape.

I'm sidelining my BB and gonna set up a squonker to use at work tomorrow.

Rewicked the exocet. Cut the wick flush with the chamber and then fluffed it up to the edges of the wicking hole. It leaked a bit initially out the bottom but stopped so I thought I'd be good. Vape is still a little dry and not tasting like it should. It tasted way better with the troll look yesterday but started getting dry this morning.

What kind of coil you running? The picture I have a page back with the Fused I run at 17w.

It does need to be close to the chamber barrel, but not flush...

Wish I could be more descriptive than the pictures I posted...and even then, It really depends on how the planets aligned if its good or just a vapor producer.

I'm getting on with the Insider again...but as I feared, I wasn't able to rewick-coil it the same, and did it a 3rd time, and yeah its not as amazing as it was a few days ago...disappointing. Its not dry hitting nor leaking...but flavor isn't there... the other day...it was REALLY GOOD - 95% of my RSAs good... today...Mulligan lol

So I can understand your frustrations...been there with all the bridges/coils etc with the BB...and I am really hoping the MF bridge is the cure...otherwise its gone.

I mean, the Comfort works...but it just doesn't have any flavor for me...I might slap that back into the boro in a few...

If I remember correctly the build is, N80 26g, 2.5mm, 7 wrap, 0.7ish ohms. Running around 19 Watts.

True that! I just ordered a couple more Justfog Minifit, pods and some NR-R-NR wire from FT. Because of the built in battery, they use different shipping (extra $2.55 or so) but I got my lasy order in 10 days from order date (Saturday here) to delivery. If I'm lucky, my order should just barely squeeze thru before the 23rd.

Might want to try this, https://www.nicotineriver.com/products/flavor-apprentice-koolada-10-pg it is a 10% PG solution but you only use 1% in your juice...It could be diluted enough ?
Thanks - I'll look into that. When I ordered nic from Nic River last week, I almost grabbed a few of the flavor concentrates in their 'Menthol and Mint' section, but decided that further research was necessary.

I've seen the Koolada mentioned elsewhere many times in recommendations, and seems to be both popular and well-liked in the DIY community.

Never smoked cigarettes, was a 2 a day cigar smoker though.

Funny thing is, cigars are exponentially more expensive than a pack of cigarettes and I was buying boxes multiple times a month having them delivered, well not really funny, some boxes (24 cigars) were running me $279+ with the average box costing $159 for 20-25 robustos.

Wife is much happier I kicked (decided) smoking cigars, and I sold off a lot of boxes I had in cooleradors...but yeah, if we go out and I have a drink...I'm seriously looking for a stogie even 3 years later.

She asked me before my birthday this year what I wanted, my first instinct and reply was a cigar and 4 fingers of cognac

I admittedly had one New Years which was my last one, couldn't even get 1/3rd of it finished before I was dizzy, green and wanting to puke...but it was the most glorious up to that point and a reminder that I chose the right path to rid myself of nicotine eventually.

Shame too, was a $47 cigar

At weddings and such when they passed around cigars, I never said no.

Last cigar I had over a decade ago was a Macanudo.

In college, I dabbled with those rough-looking 'Backwoods' mini cigars, and smoked them like a cigarette. IIRC they paired great with a whiskey, bourbon or cognac. They were cheap too, a 10-pack was like $8 back then. They stunk up the room good though, and despite washing your hands, the aroma would linger on your fingers, and smelling that the next day was sometimes pleasant, depending upon how hung-over I was...

Thanks for sharing this. I do this too. Wicking the Exocet much like the Kanger RBA, and it works well for me.

While the hack is neat, I would not care for the slightly longer battery life.

For me, my most consistent build on either the Kanger RBA or the Exocet is 5 spaced wraps of 27g Kanthal on 3mm ID which gives me a 0.95 resistance.

For me, betw 15-17w is a nice vape. On a freshly charged LG HG2, I can refill the boro 3-4 times before the batt indicator flashes at me, and I'm good with that. I have 7x LG HG2 cells at the ready, and 2x Samsung 25Rs (which I use in the Pico Squeeze), and several 4x cel plastic battery cases for out and about or travel, so I am not worried about battery life so much.

I have a single 5-leg Ijoy 20700 that I bought for use/testing with the OG Pulse BF, and compared to the HG2 or the 25R, with an SS build of 5 spaced wraps of 24g on 3mm ID 0.32 Ohms, I dont really see a difference in hitting harder or not, and do not really notice an extension in battery life with the 20700. Maybe I'm just coincidentally too distracted to notice when I happen to have used the 20700 cell?

How difficult is the Minifit to rebuild?

KZOR was going to do a video on that, but I had not seen one as of yet, still waiting on that...

I don't know, I might buy the Lost Vape DNA pod system coming out.

-------

In other news, my authentic (used) black BB came today, along with a whole fucking bag of goodies. 5 or 6 boro tanks, authentic Vapeshell, Insider, Atmistique something or other, a truckload of Kanger coils which I will probably just include when I sell the SXK DNA40 one, even a few VTC6s.

Check naturevape on you tube. He does a review and coil build.
Thanks for mentioning that.

I actually just found his vids on the Minifit and C601 yesterday after I posted my comment here. I like that guy. He's very casual and laid back. I original found his channel when looking for info on the BB, for which he has a handful of vids too.

I saw that one too and was intrigued. Similar form factor to the Seigeli Compak A1 pod system.

The Lost Vape unit looks like one of the walkie-talkie toys that were sold for kids back in the 1970's, but I am eager to see some videos on it.

So I am getting along with the Insider again.... The fucking Yo-Yo ride with the BB lol

Although I've had to rebuild it 4 times in 5 days, its a really good vape for me lately, 3 of the rebuilds was due to not being right.

As for the Lost Vape Walkie-Talkie... I think it will be a good lil pod system...but at the price point of $79, I dunno...probably see it as low as $59 somewhere soon...and with Holiday sales approaching maybe a few bucks less?

I still think the King of compact vaping (Out and about beater ) is still a pico/<Insert RSA of choice>

Has power on/off ... doesn't leak...great flavor

With the Kanger RBA and my unsweetened juice I can go about 3 weeks before rewicking. Dry-burn & rewick and it's back performing great with no issues and is consistent every time for me.

Glad the Insider is working well for you.

Pico is nice other than the juice flow issue I mentioned in the Bonkers thread. Running the silly-cone bottle now. I may remove the metal stem and use a standard squonk bottle and top-fill like my other squonks. Squeezing to fill and very little juice coming up is a PITA, and it happens no matter of any 3 RSAs, which have no issue on other squonkers. Sorry for the digression here in the BB thread...pls carry on...

Don't have the Kanger RBA, and unfortunately I don't Vape unflavored...additionally I've overly invested into a device that has been shit more times than not; so even the cheap K-RBA I won't bother with obtaining.

Yeah, I might gravitate back to RTAs... probably end up grabbing a Mirage and a few 21700 40Ts, pick up a KF Prime and or KF5...

Wicked up my lil mech/rta combo...hands down better vape than the BB, might be premature, but even more enjoyable than any RSA/squonk set ups I have.

I don't think the '350 mech will replace anything daily vape related...but I think it will be the shiznat out and about.

Flavor is just outstanding with a simple Kanthal build.

I'll go about finishing this tank and putting the tighter AF discs in, rebuild it to 1.2Ω from .77Ω and I think the lil mech will be perfect.

Take the gasket out and clean underneath it. It probably has juice under it and is "floating" in place
