Anyone else have experience with the Vapcell 20700 3100mah 30A's?

Ordered a couple the other day from Liion and am curious about others experiences with them. Not a ton of reviews I can find, but Mooch made it sound pretty solid and most reviews I do find are pretty positive. Save for one where some dude used them in an Ebike, one vented and the other basically melted. And then one more where the guy complained about the wraps. Anyways, here's hoping that I don't die the second they get here! Seems to be the best 20700 aside from the elusive Sanyo 20700A.

Yeah I have been using them for quite a bit in my single 20700 tube mechs at .11 ohms (i.e. I'm running them a few amps above their CDR so I'm not recommending to anyone to use them this way despite I haven't blown my face off heh). They are a noticeable upgrade over the iJoy 5-legged 20700 because not only they run for longer, but also they hit as hard as the VTC5A and the VTC5D, and, they perform not that much worse than the Sanyo 20700A according to Mooch's constant current discharge graphs, but the one to really watch out for right now is the new Sanyo 2070C, at least if it doesn't become as elusive as the Sanyo 20700A so yeah, I think the Vapcell 30A 3100mAh 20700 is a good choice if you can't get anything that relates to Sanyo excepting only a few nice stories about 'em. :)

I use them as well. No problems at all.
Currently in a Underground Sqounk.
At a .2 build it will last through 14 -16 ml of juice before I swap it out.
Also use them in my Captain PD 270 with a Herakles RTA2 with a .24 build. They last all day before recharging.

I have 4 of them in rotation in my 3 x Pulse 80w boxes. No complaints and they seem to last longer than my pair of 6 month old IJOY 5 leg batteries.

Apparently Mooch just started testing them again and derated the cell down to a 25A for consistency issues between cells and an apparent cell change. Figures that would happen as soon as I order them..

As far as the "an apparent cell change" description goes, you should be able to contact the vendor that you ordered from and get a reliable answer to what it is you are buying, if the the vendor in question is on Mooch's list of trusted battery vendors. (liionwholesale.com is on that list so probably not all is lost.) Consistency issues between cells is a whole other matter, though... if using two cells in a dual battery regulated mod, "consistency issues between cells" implies that one cell might be heating up noticeably faster than the other cell during use and or one cell might have a capacity and or voltage sag that differ(s) noticeably from that/those of the other cell so the two cells don't discharge equally resulting in a difference in voltage between the two cells. But if you follow Mooch's temporary new rating of 20A-25A for this battery, you could still use this battery safely (i.e., sufficiently safely), and, if you have a dual 20700 capable regulated mod that you can verify to be working correctly (by using other batteries you know aren't suffering from consistency issues between cells and by using an accurate voltmeter to verify that the difference in voltage between the two cells is staying, nearing the end of the discharge cycle, pretty close to zero difference) you should be able to "test" (well sort of anyway, but not as reliably accurate as Mooch runs his tests...) for noticeable inconsistencies by measuring the voltages and by feeling if one cell gets noticeably warmer than the other when using them together as a pair in that same dual battery regulated mod. Taking this approach should at least give you a preliminary indication of the magnitude of the inconsistency between the two cells until Mooch comes up with the real test results. Despite this, I can't recommend you to use these batteries above 20A-25A right now of course, but all I'm saying is at least you could decide to try and figure out what chances you have that these batteries will still turn out to be of some (sufficiently safe) use to you. The only other option I can think of would be to simply just cancel your order.

I just so happened to order from them! Just sent them a message through their contact form, so hopefully i'll hear from them by today/tomorrow. I'll probably refrain from using the cells until I hear back from them, just in case a return is necessary. Do you know if they do personal tests on their batteries before selling? If so, they should technically be the same cells Mooch tested a few months back, I think?

Yeah I know you ordered from them because you wrote that in your first post. These cells are not bad cells, you can still vape on them... just not up to 30A per cell anymore now so, instead, up to 20A-25A per cell according to Mooch you should be fine until Mooch posts his retest results, but I dunno what mod(s) you use or how you vape so I dunno if 20A-25A per cell will still be high enough for you to be able to use them.

I also dunno if liionwholesale.com run their own battery tests, but I expect they at least visually inspect the batteries and probably run a few very basic tests like maybe they grab a few of the cells and put them on the charger or measure the voltage or something. But what makes a trusted battery vendor trusted is what they'll do once they find out there may be issues that can impact the safety so these people will uphold their reputation pretty much guaranteed by Mooch for fear of their getting eaten alive by him so...

Oops, guess I forgot for a second that I mentioned them originally. I'll be running 30gx4/40g 3.5mm quad core fused claptons in a Recurve on a Pulse 80w at around 40-60w. Worst case scenario I have some Samsung 18650 25R's I can unmarry and use for this, pretty sure 20a can handle 60w. Though according to my small amount of research, they do indeed run their own tests. We'll just have to see what their response is!

No need to use the Samsung 25R for this. Even if you interpret Mooch's "20A-25A" rating as "20A" just to be extra cautious, then the Samsung 25R and the Vapcell 30A 3100mAh 20700 are still rated the same in this regard.
