Hello,
I am trying really hard to find the best vape and e-liquid for me. I am mostly concerned about safety & health since I am trying to do this to quit smoking cigarettes. I don't want to do just a different bad thing.
I read some articles like this one . It seems like it is important what materials are used to make the vape pen/box thingie/whatever. The rub is, no-one lists what their product is made of! Also, I honestly don't know what half of those parts even are.
Next. The liquid. I am looking for something that doesn't have all those chemicals that scar your lungs. When I searched diacetyl free vape juice I found Vaporfi. Which says it is basically free of all the bad things. Things I've never even heard of. Great. Except when I looked for reviews of this company. People F*ing HATE them!
What the heck am I supposed to do here!?!
Would someone please tell me what to buy?

Ahh the diacetyl.
A couple of facts.
1. NO one has ever gotten popcorn lung from vaping. And there have only been a handfull of popcorn lung cases at all. And those people were exposed to LOTS of diacetyl. You also get FAR more diacetyl from cigs than vaping.
2. Vaping is not totally risk free but most experts agree it is at least 90 some percent safer than smoking.
Vaping is about harm reduction not harm elimination. The safest thing to do is neither vape or smoke.

I have been vaping Capellas Vanilla Custard V1 most of the time for 3 years and at last checkup my doctor was surprised that I had smoked for 40 years. Said my lungs were great for a 63 yr old man.
Vanilla Custard V1 btw has the bad stuff that scares people.
On construction of the Vape tanks and such? Can't get much safer than Stainless Steel and glass.
Personally I avoid the colored ones as the coloring agent might come off in your vape juice and they tend to get looking all scratched up and ugly.

Thanks! I guess I am just thinking that if there are chemical free options I would be better off.
Is there a brand/model of vaporizer you recommend for quality of materials?

What size/style do you desire?
And have you vaped before?

I've never vaped before. I don't know anything about size/style. I guess small? I just need to be able to do it while I drive. I have mostly quit smoking but for some reason still need to smoke every time I get in the car.

Force of Habit so I suggest you get the simplest setup you can find~! I did it with Cig-A-Likes like the Logic Pens. Whatever works for you is what is best and good luck in staying a former smoker~! Anything you want to ask feel free

Do you want something small and discreet?
or something larger?

The small and discreet often have non refillable juice pods which will cost more than a refillable tank type vaporizer setup.

The larger ones well are larger and heavier usually with replaceable batteries. Which is handy that you can swap out a charged battrery and keep on vaping.

POD's and Cartridges can be refilled with a little extra effort I did it for years.

The refillable kind sounds good to me. I don't care that much about size/weight.

MyJet makes a refillable POD system that I used for a while but like all the rest they got too expensive for the refillable POD's.

I recently got one of these kits the SS one.
Really love the Kbox mini mod/battery unit have several of them. I have been using one of them daily for over 2 years.
And a great deal for $25 vs $70 some places.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/222918004517

You will also need 2 18650 batteries (1 spare)I recommend Samsung 30Q for this mod and a charger.
www.illumn.com is a good place for batteries and chargers.
About $5-6 for each battery and about $15 for a decent charger.

Might want to be careful with eBay sellers as there are many posts concerning Fakes and Counterfeits when buying from Fleabay.

Buy yourself some nicotine patches and 'vape' pure oxygen from a tank - That should sort you out.

You know, not the cheapest option, but the Juul pod system is very nice and is closest to a real cigarette I know of
Yep but the nic level is high and if she does not smoke much, might be too much nic?
But yeah Juul is a good replacement just has a lot of nic.

I am just awaiting my vaporfi liquids and saw lots of bad reviews (only after purchase.... Before I found only good). However, in follow up research it seems kais virgin juices and kind juice are the two leading organic, diacetyl and AP free juices.

While I doubt vaping diacetyl can cause popcorn lung (miners inhaled combustible version of it and no studies are yet done on what it does if vaped), but, I'm with you, if there are healthier options why not use them. Two other things to note.... Vaping is mostly untested so just cause something is organic and doesn't contain two ingredients, that they have tested thoroughly, doesn't mean there aren't other untested things (although both kai and kind juice have pure vg options and I didn't think that can harm you much). Big tobacco were the owners of those old ecig versions that they sell in petrol stations... These have been widely surpassed by the new regulated box mods, not owned by big tobacco.... Be a bit wary of info you are reading against vaping as big tobacco now wants everyone back on cigarettes.

I gave up three weeks ago, vaping made it so easy and, once I shift 100% to kind and kai brand juice, I see it as more benefit than negative. Not only no smoking but I am guessing I'll also be able to cut back on sugar (once my dessert and candy flavours arrive)

Thank you! This is really helpful! I will check out Kind and Kai. This is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for.

Little late for the party but.....
The internet is overwhelming with vaping choices, not like back in the day when barely a handful of options available.
Buy a nice 18650 2 battery hitter, researching will point you in the right direction. A external charger so you rarely use the USB port on the mod. Its the tank thats most confusing, get something that is a higher ohm range like 1.4Ω and higher to learn how to vape, perfect the vape then begin to dwell into lower ohm vaping. B&M want to sell you the low ohm tanks and coils and if not vaped properly can become a expensive disheartening experience along with massive juice consumption.
I find it a bit funny how some who smoke the gazillion chemicals in a cig for most of their lifetime are now worried about some minor whatever in a ejuice.
I was a protank kinda guy, now subtank mini but nautilus tanks still around and have the higher ohm coils. 12-18 nic for the 14+ higher ohm coils then once you start to lower the ohm level you also lower the nic of the juice or a nic headache can result. Opposite if your coddling the vape like a tit, need more nic then gradually lower the nic..it does work to fool the body, been vaping the same 1.4Ω coil for over 4 years with my work atty but went from 18 to 12 to 9 and now 7. You can't rush fooling the body so thinking about DIY juice so one can adjust levels on a whim helps make vaping a pleasure.

Thanks for the advice about the equipment! I would just like to say that there is nothing wrong with trying to change your habits and make healthy choices. I actually smoke Nat Sherman's which are an all natural cigarette or (when those are not available) the American Spirit Organic cigarettes. Not saying they are good for you but they don't have the chemicals added to them that most other cigarettes do. Also, I love smoking cigarettes. I would probably never quit except that I am planning to try to have children soon. So, yes, right now I am a life long smoker looking for the healthiest option for quitting. Funny as that might sound.

I have put together a review of all the flavours and brands I have tried so far - https://sites.google.com/corp/view/vape-flavours-review/home?authuser=1

The gist of it:

Basically, Kind Juice is pretty awesome and I think you will def be able to find a flavour that suits from their range (my fave was geisha blue moon). They are better than the cosmic fog flavours I got so this brand def compares to top rated non-organic brand. I recommend getting a survival pack of 5 samplers until you find the right flavour for you.

Velvet Vapes was the worst I have tried ever (I couldn't even begin explaining the flavours as they didn't seem to be built for the human palate) and I would prefer to be chain smoking cigars than taste that vile shit again.

My Kai's virgin juice is arriving later today or tomorrow and I have about 10 flavours to test out...I am expecting them to be great as well.

The above site will be updated with Kais and vaporfi reviews over next week or two.

As said, both Kais and Kind juice are FDA approved so if it is edible it cant be that bad for you.

Thanks! I was leaning towards the Kind juice. It's good to know they taste good.

My Kai juice just arrived and to be honest if you only wanted to go with one brand I would recommend Kai's over Kind...just because of the 5 Kind juices I only really liked one whereas of the 3 of the 9 I have tried from Kai they have all been great...I have 5 flavours to go (careful as their sample packs are zero nicotine which I did not realise)...I think given the higher hit rate of Kai flavours it is a better option (even though kind geisha flavour is amazing). I think I will be opting for Kind Juice Geisha but for all others I will go with a couple of the Kai flavours. I am glad for both these brands, especially Kai, as the two other leading brands were absolutely vile (I would definitely have reverted back to non-organic without the kai options)

oh and for vape machine I was in same position and let experts at vape shop direct me.

a. do not get e-cig vape pens from convenient stores etc...these are no good and have harmful chemicals...these are made by big tobacco

b. get a good regulated box mod. I think a regulated squonk mod is the best option for beginners (anything not regulated you will need to be pretty skilled at calculating ohms resistance etc or you could explode battery). Basically I knew I wanted a squonk regulated box mod going into store...had a top brand in mind that got great reviews, but both vape store dudes told me not to (as they had problems with the geekvape athena) and that they would both highly recommend the RSQ squonk regulated box mod (by hot cig). Both of them had switched to this mod (from their super expensive fancy ones) and they said it was best on market they tried, especially in that price range. I have been super happy with it...it works very well and is easy (I didn't need the previous knowledge about anything to use it - I did need to find some nice vape store guys who did the initial setup and taught me how to coil and wick it).

I would say RSQ hot cig squonk mod is a safe bet and under $100

Go to your vape store, see what they have in hitters to choose from. Don't rely on a sales person to know what they are talking about, some can bullshit you with fancy talk then bring home a crap hitter cause it sounded good. Write down what they have then hit YouTube up for reviews and make a choice from there. Many impulse buy at stores then end up in places like this asking WTF then in the end spending twice.
Buying a atty is a different ballgame. Find out how much the refill heads cost and how plentiful they are to buy cause attys come and go so ending up with a orphan atty that needs expensive heads also spoils the fun of vaping.

any recommended?

Do you have a vape shop in your area?
That is a good place to start- you can see and hold beginner gear that would work best for you.
There is so much great gear out on the market it is hard to suggest what will work for you.
I started vaping almost 4 years ago using Mistic Bridge Kit and Cartos and some Haus eliquids at 24 nic I got from Walgreens- that worked for me for months till I walked into a vape shop and bought my step up gear - the Innokin iTaste vv/vw and some evod tanks and some house eliquids at 12 nic- LOL! Hey they worked for me- not too much on the market back then.
Still almost 4 years later I have not had 1 cigarette or even a drag.
