I figured it would be fun to have collaborative input on a flavor profile I thought would be unique. White Chocolate Marzipan Cake. I'll need some help from the community though as I'm new to the good V1 flavorings. Also if FW Yellow Cake can be avoided that would be preferable but I'm open to it if need be (mainly because of the fructose).

I read on ELR from Esoteric_Theorem that "1% Yellow Cake = 1.5% CAP Sugar Cookie, 0.75% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, 0.25% FA Joy."

Not sure if JF Yellow Cake is any good?

So assuming 1.5% yellow cake or so:

Sugar Cookie(CAP) 2.25%
Vanilla Custard(CAP) 2%
Marzipan(FA) 1.25%
Cream Cheese Icing(LA) 1%
Cheesecake Graham Crust(TFA) 1%
Vienna Cream(FA) 1%
Nonna's Cake(FA) 0.5%
Joy(FA) 0.4%
White Chocolate(LOT) 0.4%

Or with JF Yellow Cake:

Yellow Cake(JF) 4%
Vanilla Custard(CAP) 2%
Marzipan(FA) 1.25%
Cream Cheese Icing(LA) 1%
Vienna Cream(FA) 1%
Nonna's Cake(FA) 0.5%
White Chocolate(LOT) 0.4%

I figured the CAP Vanilla Custard would add good body and the LA Cream Cheese Icing would help with the cake profile but could be off here. Haven't really done much with cake recipes before so I'm going sort of blind here.

I would love for folks to chime in and throw some ideas down if ya'll are interested. I know @wildgypsy70 will be! I currently have the first recipe aging and have some JF Yellow Cake on the way.

Hells ya, I’m in for this one! I need a good line on the Lotus white chocolate, though. Got any ideas? Every time I check ecigexpress, it’s out. I have FW, TFA and VT.

Medicine Flower is the same thing, Lotus is just ECX's brand.

Imma gonna whip up the JF version tonight. Steep time? A week? Custard means at least a week.....are we just working on this version, or are we coming up with our own and melding them somehow?

I would say at least two weeks, the white chocolate I know takes a couple weeks to bloom. We can also try different white chocolates.

We can combine any combo we want in any way we want :) Feel free to post your ideas and we can mix that too.

Sweet. I already subbed VT white chocolate(@ 1% I think) cause I don’t have the MF.

Yours is mixed and smells great. Waiting two weeks is gonna be torture!!!

My JF Yellow Cake should be here tomorrow and I'll order some VT White Chocolate. How is it by the way? Your favorite you've tried so far? VT has some good stuff but I'm still dialing in things. So my bad, I'll wait until I get the VT to mix yours as is to compare. What do you usually test with? I usually use my Hadaly with a 3x28/36 Ni80 Alien / 5 wrap / 2.5mm ID / ~0.3ohm.

New name for your company if you ever started one to develop recipes - ishkagypsy creations!
This is truly brilliant BTW! But if you have ideas feel free to chime in! I'm willing to order whatever I have missing and mix until the cows come home.

Maybe we should setup an excel spreadsheet or word doc that can be shared so we can keep track of notes. That way we can compile all versions, split the best from there, and continue dialing in :)

Oh dear....my coils are super simple Kanthal 24/5-6 wrap/2.5 ID/around .5 ohm. I just got into building...like a month ago. Still toodling around with single coil simple stuff....either on a Hadlay or Dead Rabbit. Sometimes a Drop, if ones empty.

Ill give my thoughts if that's ok. I know I'm not a 90 year old DIY mixing veteran but maybe some modern suggestion can help.

VT white chocolate base is as the name says a base. It brings a lot of creaminess to the table and it does have very subtle white chocolate nuances. However for me personally it also has a lot of banana notes that most VT creams have. It does steep out tho. So I would try this:

VT White Chocolate Base - 1.5%
WF White Fudge - 3%
INW Marzipan - 0.5%

I like Inawera's marzipan a bit better in comparison to FA's, but that's just personal preference. Most Chocolate Marzipan cakes do have a light sponge, or at least the recipes I know. Based on this, I would give this a try:

WF Angel Cake - 4%
WF Fluffy white cake - 1.5%

If you wanted some vanilla that most cakes do have, add some WF Vanilla Cream Extra or for lighter WF Taithian vanilla. But then again, there's so much vanilla out there, that most of them probably will do. I just prefer these lately. Filling etc, I will have to think about, I might add some ideas here later if needed. But as always it's subjective and whatever you guys decide, I am sure it will be amazing. Love the collaborative idea tho.

Of course it's okay, that's the point! Thanks for the tips, I'll add those to my order and wait for @wildgypsy70 to let me know what I need to add.

Once you think of a filling, feel free to throw everything together and we will get it mixed for testing :)

Ok. Putting an order in....picking up WF fluffy white cake(I have the white fudge). I think I’m gonna do the white cake in replacement of JF yellow. And add WF white fudge. Also, add WF Brazilian coffee to your order, if you don’t have it. I have another FA Custard Premium for ya.

Just my general approach with cake recipies.
JF Yellow Cake (Moisture & Sweetness)
FA Nonna’s Cake (slightest AP to help the crumb along)
RF SC Angel Cake (Dry, fluffy, lightly carmelised corners)
CAP Vanilla Cupcake v1 (little butter without going the yolk route)
FW Cream Cheese Frosting (sweet frosting)
RFSC Sugar Cookie (sweet Vanilla frosting w/ hint of cakey cookie)
INWA Shisha Vanilla (best fluff Vanilla ever)

Hope this helpz

Here's my attempt, using flavors that I have on hand. Don't have Marzipan, so it's meringue + almond + amaretto + extra sweetener. Components of the cake itself are based on @wildgypsy's wonderful Nilla Cake minus the french vanilla and whipped cream.

Almond (FA) 0.65%
Amaretto (DIY) 0.5%
Butter (TPA) 0.2%
Cake (Yellow) (FW) 2.5%
cake batter v1 (CAP) 0.4%
Cookie (FA) 0.7%
Cream Cheese Icing (LA) 2%
DX Vanilla Cupcake (TPA) 1.6%
Lemonade (Natural) (FW) 2.5%
Meringue (TPA) 1.6%
Marshmallow (DIY) 0.85%
Reindeer Poop in 50/50 0.4%
Vanilla Bourbon (FA) 0.4%
White Chocolate (VW) 2.2%

Optional Pralines and Cream (TFA) 0.6% (included in initial mix - I couldn't help myself)

Total flavor is 17.36%

If I had Lemon Sicily, I'd use it in this instead of the lemonade. % of white chocolate might be too low. ETA: I've just raised it from 1.6% to 2.2%

Won't be able to mix this until tomorrow. I'm just too whipped tonight.

ETA 6/9: Added a couple of edits for the way I actually mixed this just now.

ETA2 6/9: Increasing Lemonade from 1.6% to 2.5%. Going back to add it into original mix. Can't taste it. Also added 2 drops of FA Vanilla Bourbon. I'm happy with it now, gonna let it steep for a few days.

NOTE 6/14: V2 is posted below.

Total flavor is 14.21%

For some reason I want to add praline to this. I'm resisting the urge so far. On the surface of it, the brown sugar dominant in pralines doesn't seem right.

If I had Lemon Sicily, I'd use it in this instead of the lemonade. % of white chocolate might be too low.

Well, maybe mix two...one with praline and one without.

Otherwise, looks pretty good! Nice call on adding lemon....the Italians love lemon. I’ve never used VW white chocolate, so I don’t know if it’s too low. Could be.

I am being lazy this morning. Up almost all night last night with aching knees. Feeling like that shelf with flavors on it is about five miles away. Oh, me. :(

Recipe I posted earlier has been mixed and tweaked several times, so I'm leaving it now. It's not a S&V, but we'll see what happens after a few days. Think the praline is going to work, brings out some of the nuttiness that should be in marzipan. Not sure I get enough cake, but the cake batter may remedy that after steeping.

This is my V2:

Almond (FA) 0.55%
Amaretto (DIY) 0.45%
Bourbon (Vanilla Bourbon) (FA) 0.35%
Butter (TPA) 0.2%
Cake (Yellow) (FW) 3%
Cake Batter (CAP) 0.5%
Cookie (FA) 0.6%
Cream Cheese Icing (LA) 1.75%
DX Vanilla Cupcake (TPA) 1.35%
Lemonade (Natural) (FW) 2%
Marshmallow (DIY) 0.8%
Meringue (TPA) 1.35%
Pralines and Cream (TPA) 0.75%
Reindeer Poop FW in 50/50 0.35%
White Chocolate (VW) 3%

After four days, not enough cake or white chocolate. Flavor percentages were getting too high, so I added the cake and white chocolate that were needed, then decreased the total percentage of flavor from 19.66% to 16.5%, then rounded some up and some down as necessary.

Also changed the FA Cookie to Cap Sugar Cookie, but am thinking about changing it back. The FA Cookie isn't too pronounced in this mix. Concerned that the change will cause me to lose even more of the cake flavor. Now I've talked myself into changing it back.

New total flavor is 17.01%

V1 is a very light flavor, even with the high-ish flavor levels, perhaps too light for me, although I can now taste the lemon kinda in the background. Will see how this is in my next mixing session.

You know your mind is sick when the first thing my eyes gravitate toward is REINDEER POOP :p I can assure you I don't have that flavor lol. Thanks for collaborating with us on this! I will have to grab some of these flavors!

There's a story about the Reindeer Poop.

If I wasn't sensitive to acetyl pyrazine, I'd probably like RP as a standalone flavor, but it makes my lips intolerably numb. I had mixed it at 8% in a 50/50 tester before I discovered this. So since I can't vape it standalone, I've been using the tester as an add-in for bakery-type mixes. That's why it's listed as "Reindeer Poop FW in 50/50."

So anyway, if you decide to order RP for this recipe, please don't use more than a drop of it in 10ml. I am using considerably less than a full drop, something like 8% of 2 drops in 11ml actually, just as an accent to enhance grain flavors. Would probably be better to leave it out than to use too much.

I'm thinking of trying this for my v3:

Angel Cake(WF) 3%
White Chocolate Base(VT) 3%
Vanilla Custard v1(CAP) 2%
White Fudge SC(WF) 1.5%
Fluffy White Cake (WF) 1.5%
Shisha Vanilla(INW) 1%
Marzipan(INW) 0.5%
Almond(FA) 0.5%

This is my first attempt at using 5 of these flavors so I could be off, I just did some research on each one and saw what people were doing with it. Going to give the INW Marzipan a shot here. I figured the FA Almond would boost it. If I no likey, I might try and throw FA Marzipan back in. I also added CAP VC to add some density in case the angel and fluffy white cake was too dry. Will report soon!

Could you wrap up for us the 3 versions you have mixed so far? Sorry I couldn't respond earlier, just got back from Cisco Live. I just got all the flavors here and for your collab so tomorrow is mixing day!
Yay! Glad you’re back! The three I mixed are yours, @nadalama ’s and my updated version(fluffy white cake version).

And @nadalama I will order what I am missing tomorrow to stay true to the experiment. I might not use the fructose flavorings since they burn my throat but everything else I'll try and match.

I'm thinking of trying this for my v3:

Angel Cake(WF) 3%
White Chocolate Base(VT) 3%
Vanilla Custard v1(CAP) 2%
White Fudge SC(WF) 1.5%
Fluffy White Cake (WF) 1.5%
Shisha Vanilla(INW) 1%
Marzipan(INW) 0.5%
Almond(FA) 0.5%

Sounds really good. Sounds like it wants cherry, though. I love cherry.

ETA: Got me thinking about the Torrone I just ordered. Cherry Almond Nougat: Torrone, Maraschino Cherry, Amaretto, White Chocolate.

You might be on to something since I know Marzipan can give off a slight cherry taste. You think it would be a little too bitter though with the white chocolate? Might need to play with this one! I'm struggling to find a good cherry though as most taste like cough syrup to me. Suggestions?

I like TFA's Maraschino Cherry, but it has to have a full 2 weeks to steep. That's purely a personal preference, though, as I'm not a fruit lover, and have a kid's palate when it comes to fruit flavors. Embarrassing to admit, but I really like candy-fruit flavors better than natural fruit.

I'm also the person who actually set out to make a juice that tastes like cough syrup! My Cherry Hound, which is mainly cherry and horehound, is a vape for head-cold-time. :giggle: You can taste it even with deadened taste buds!

Too weeks age is no sweat! I find most bakeries need 2-3 weeks before they are done. I'll pick some up and a few others. %?

I'd start at about 1% and work up from there, if you don't taste enough cherry after about four days. Light mix, probably doesn't need very much. Just keep in mind that the flavor will "round out" and get a little smoother and sweeter over time, but it won't fade a lot.

Wow.....this is very close to my v2. I’ll mix this one up, too. See how it differs from mine. The custard is the very noticeable difference, IMO.

Of course it is, I took what eStorm said, saw your v2 and branched from there :) Figured it's the next logical step. The custard might not be needed, I might make a version with and without. I'm just not familiar with those cake flavors and in case it needs some moisture and thickness I threw it in on a whim lol
