One other thing you can try is to clean all 4 battery contacts in the mod with a Q-Tip moistened in Rubbing Alcohol. It's probably not dirty contacts, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure (having clean contacts is always a good thing :D). When I troubleshoot something, I try to eliminate every possibility I can think of.

Cheers,
Steve
Hi Steve,

So I finally got the drone in today! With this one I can use the case analyzer files etc that you sent previous correct? I remember they couldn't be used for the single battery 75w dna, but wanted to check and make sure I was using the right things for this new dna board.

Thanks
B

Refresh my memory, did I send you the Therion or Triade Ecig File (I've sent both to quite a few people)? Is the Drone a dual or triple 18650 mod (I'm assuming it's a dual since you need room for the bottle). I'm asking because you would want to use an Ecig file with the same amount of cells. Also I would run the case analyzer because the case thermals are probably different since it's a different mod. It's easy to run. The only thing you need to do is have the batteries between 1/4-1/2 charged. Go into the mod tab and run the Case Analyzer. You don't need any special equipment to run it. It just takes a few hours. When it's finished, click on Accept. Then click on Upload Settings to Device at the top of Escribe before disconnecting the Drone from Escribe to save the results to your mod.

Cheers,
Steve

If you like the form factor of the VT133/Therion/Finder. You may want to check out a Smoant Charon. Did a full review here.

Well, I'm late to the party: just got a pair of used vt133's and been using the linux Beta of Escribe. Tinkering endlessly ;-)

I've still got 100 pages of the topic to get thru, but I thought I'd chime in and see if anyone else is using the linux beta as well.

Taking one of the vt133 to work today w/ either the aromamizer or the griff25: day 2 of testing. Still want a dual 75c unit, but getting familiar with the system.

Does anyone know of - or have - a link to Disassembly of the vt133?

I've just painted the most crufty 2 battery doors - Rustoleum Bed Liner was perfect - but I want to repair all the wear&tear on these cuties, (without screwing up the screen, port or buttons).

Oh, and the linux BETA sw is truly half-ass. It worked for the screens, but you get zero battery, case, etc info. I'm suffering Virtualbox and win XP to do it well - the win7 download I have is hanging slow/hard at installing net4.

APPENDUM:
Finally got win7/Virtualbox to work - .net4 took a day, escribe took hours.. Running it is even slower than the XP vbox. "Not Ideal" would be an understatement. oh, for goddsakes keep arms and hands away from the usb cable and vt133 - mine would twitter/flutter at a touch, I'd never get a message, but it'd have disconnected and never reconnect. spin.. spin... ugh.

I and a few others posted pictures here in mid-2016 (here's mine). Four outside screws and the side panel comes off. The rest is easy once you're inside. And slip a piece of paper between the screen and the mod before sliding the screen out. Otherwise the screen will probably get scratched.

Excellent, thanks.

I was bemused to find that my most useless bondhus wrench actually fit all the screws properly - although the 510 didn't want to pop out.

Huzzah. Caught up to myself & finished the thread. ;-)

Oddly, while I like the heavy-duty feel/construction of the vt133, I continue to find myself screwing around with every tank I have - looking for The Right Stuff. Indeed, I don't really enjoy the TC modes at all: I have to firewall the temp to 600F to use any of my SS316L - and it still feels "cool" or cold. I got irked and rewicked and coiled the Aromamizer v1 to 0.19Ω 0 but, yeah: it was cool/cold again. Heh - then it started "Check battery" flashes and Pule-vape-pulse-ing ;-)

I'm pretty well convinced I might as well stick to Power Mode and it's just fine around 68w tonight.

Meanwhile, the gbox 200 got the newly arrived Haku-clone, double-wrapped (parallel) with the same wire, 0.24Ω, 60w, TCR 105, TC-SS at 460F - loverly.

Tomorrow is my 'friday', so I'll use the tired batteries in the vt133 and run the case-analysis. I can imagine it might be affecting the vape if off, but seems more likely the temp would affect the "battery level".

Well, shit.. I am having one hell of a time with case-thermals. I can't decide if it's XP-inside-Vbox, or the stupid USB cable "disconnecting" randomly. I need to scam another cable today and try again.

I did manage to do the atty-test: used a length of household copper-wire clamped in the Wasp Nano and found it's running about .035Ω - rather higher than most folks. However, plugging that value in, the TC vape is actually tasting like a vape at around 440F.

Yeah, just that setting alone made a very large difference. Gods alone know what a successful Thermals test will improve ;-)

51 minutes later:
Nope. TC just went stupid/nazi "temp protect". Back to Power mode and 45w.

Well, I moved the whole computer over to a workbench and setup.. The Thermals ran w/o a hitch - took about 1.5hr.

I'm just barely suffering TC mode @ 575F, 36w, and a 75w preheat. I've almost been tempted to switch back to 36w Power mode, but this has been acceptable. It may well be this really wants for a single-coil setup - once the sampan pulls in I'll be able to test it.. It's still landlocked.

I finally saw your PM and replied. I hope you get everything sorted.

Software issues resolved, but I am still under-impressed with the DNA.

The thing seems to really dislike SS316L - or at least the temco & LV stuff I have.. Single or dual - spaced or micro, it's just wonky: vastly better as a mere VW device. I actually get better TC on the Gbox 200 - which is extremely weird and almost depressing.

I had a pleasant surprise with some seriously halfass TIger wire I cobbled up: kanthal ribbon, 316L core. But that is not a "solution".

I don't resent getting them: on the whole, most folks seem pleased with their repair/CS - and they are Made in USA. I'm not planning on ever getting another, however.

Today it's sporting the Rose V3 and a parallel of 30awg SS316L - Still looking for the best combo inside the Rose, but it's "working".

I really get great results in TC using SS430 from Unkamen. The TCR of SS430 is higher than SS316 so you get a greater resistance change which I think is easier for the mods to read. I'm not saying SS316 doesn't work, just that I get excellent results with the SS430 from Unkamen (The way I look at it is if it's not broke, don't fix it). YMMV

Yeah, I may eventually get some of that. It's just no longer at the top of the list.

Thanks!
