1. Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job.
2. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated.
3 Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home.
4. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far.
5. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy who taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
6. HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
7. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
10. A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life.
11. Rather than sending jokes, please... contribute by forwarding this mail which can save a person’s life.
12. If this message comes around you... more than once… please don’t get irritated... You should instead, be happy that you have many friends who care about you & keeps reminding you how to deal with a Heart attack.

First post here as I'm going insane. I have a 13 year old step son that makes my life a living hell. Every single day is a nightmare. Not even exaggerating.

Last night we grounded him from his tv and video games, he threw a fit, got angry, started crying and said he was going to tell his school that we abuse him. I've lived with this kid for 8 years now and i've only spanked him one time. I grabbed my phone, dialed 9-1....and handed it to him. Told him to dial the last 1 and press send. Of course he didn't.

I'm at work right now and i get a text from his mom saying they're arguing. He said he has a stomach ache and couldn't go to school. Minutes later he grabs pizza from the fridge and eats it. How you gonna eat pizza with a stomach ache? Then he asked her for his xbox controllers back. You really think you can skip school and get your xbox back? So he throws another fit and calls his mom names.

This is what i deal with every day. Nothing changes. When i get home, i'm taking all his electronics and toys and putting them in garbage bags. I cannot stand even being around this kid anymore. If he's around, i get anxious, blood pressure goes up and i'm instantly in a bad mood.

just got a text saying my GF took a bunch of stuff from his room, which included a jar of money and he said, "Now you're stealing my money because you're poor?" Omg if i was home, i would have lost it and beat his ass.

ugh, i'm shaking right now. so yeah, this my life

that does sound satisfying lol.

I just made an appointment with a psychologist for family counseling. So there goes $80 a week. I hope his little jar of money can cover that.

Yeah, I remember being a smack talker. Mom sent me to live with my dad, his wife sent me to private school that was part of their church. Thing was, it was full of all the trouble maker kids. Hanging with those trouble maker kids, I ended up getting drunk one night, which landed me into counseling at the church... ugh. BUT, I ended up with a better relationship with my step mom after that. Good luck!

Wow that really sucks. I can't imagine what that's like. Our 2.5 yrs old toddler does like to throw tantrums, but she calms down quickly and that's nothing compared to a teenage boy throwing a constant tantrum and making everybody's life miserable, I suppose. I hope you find a solution for that soon!

Thanks, yeah he throws fits worse than his 2 year old sister. Sometimes she'll do something and i'm like, wow, i can't even get a 13 year old to do that. (pick up after herself, brush her teeth, throw away trash, stuff like that)

Basically if you tell him to do anything or tell him he can't do something, the whole day is ruined and i just want to go to bed.

Put the little fella in his place or it might take a turn for the worse or the other way round. Teenage years are troublesome but that’s not a get out of jail card to do whatever the fuck he/she likes.

Growing up I wasn’t a goody too shoes either but the sense of authority I have towards my parents capped my attitude at a line. Maybe it’s an issue with nurturing with that kid. Who knows, he might turn out to be a good man once he gets to his senses.

Idk either, he just reminds me of his dad, who i think is psycho and maybe bipolar. He does what i tell him to but still throws a fit every time and acts like he's got it so bad. If his mom wants him to do something, they argue for hours. I can't be there all the time.
Boot camp.
I've looked it up. It costs as much as college tuition!

All in due time, never too late to try and nurture him into a manageable way. Good luck, from what you’ve said you’ll be needing a lot of that. Hehehe.

kids these days are just so soft. You can't punish them without fear of the law getting involved because everyone's so uptight. This kid has everything, tv, cable, internet, xbox, netflix, hockey table, bike, air soft guns, basketball hoop, $300 RC car, his own bedroom...But yet he hates living here and is always bored.

i know everyone's different but when i was a kid, i acted right because i was afraid of getting my ass beat. Kids have no fear anymore. His school had an assembly and told all the kids to tell them if anyone ever lays a finger on them. He threatens us with that all the time.

It kills me how softened society has become. We got spanked, parents never landed in jail. For the most part, we behaved. If we got out of hand... we lived with dad, LOL!

We'll get the usual "dusting" this evening...dammit. It was exactly 25 years ago today that we had the blizzard of '93. Ten and twelve foot drifts, the most snow I've ever seen at one time in my life. I miss snow....

Idaho Grizzly Bear Notice:

In light of the rising frequency of Human/Grizzly conflicts, The Idaho Fish and Game Department is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field.

We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle bears that aren’t expecting them. We also advise outdoorsmen to carry Pepper Spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear.

It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between Black Bear and Grizzly Bear dung. Black Bear dung is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly Bear dung is much larger and has lots of noisy little bells in it and smells like pepper.

Coming from a Psychology background I've found that in all honestly family counselling involving a teenager doesn't always fix the problem. It's best to have the kid go through therapy alone. It's a lot more beneficial. Kids don't say everything they're feeling in front of their parents but after some time and getting to trust the Psychologist/Psychiatrist they finally start to talk and progress is finally being made. But then again progress is really being made when one wants things to change. Therapy is tricky and you should never lose hope. There isn't a quick fix for the important things. It's a long and tedious process but you must follow the process.
I have two stepchildren who don't live with my husband and I but I'm still trying to get them to at least like me. They're still young but they understand that I'm not their mom and I never try to be. They have a mom. I'm not trying to take her place but they need to understand that there is still a place for me and I deserve respect. This is just the beginning of my relationship with them and with my Psychology background it's a little easier understanding why children act the way they do and how to prevent them from misbehaving in the first place. Once they start misbehaving it's harder to change but people change every day. I hate when people say "people never change". That's fucking bullshit. I'm not even the same exact person I was a month ago. I'd experienced a whole month more in life than the previous month. I've learned more shit. I've dealt with more problems. I've grown as a person. Everyone changes; so will your stepson. He might seem psychotic but he's still a human and maybe he needs to be understood by someone who isn't family. Therapy can help.

Sorry, I never saw your post. The psychologist is the one who recommended family counseling. We are going to try a few things to try and better our situation.

While i'm in this thread...We went there on Friday and it was hell. All 3 of us felt like complete shit after we left that place. You could tell this lady just felt so sorry for us because we didn't live up to her standards. Fuck that rich snobby bitch, We're not going back.

I support a family of 4 on an income of $45,000 a year. I cannot afford to give someone $80 an hour to make us feel that way. It was going to be tough financially but I THOUGHT it would be worth it.

on another note, i was notified today that somebody spent $1750 on my credit card. Just when you think life can't get worse.

So in the last two months i've,
-had my debit card stolen ($850 - caused me to pay rent late)
-credit card stolen ($1750)
-been scammed out of $1500 trying to get my family into a better house
-made to feel like dirt from a trained professional, then handed her a check
-had to sign a new lease in a place i don't want to live
-dealt with cops & detectives
-patched up a hole in the drywall of my house (from kids)
-fixing various other things around the house
-all while dealing with a kid that makes you miserable every day.

My brain is so scrambled, i'm sure there's other things i'm forgetting. I never thought my life would be this difficult.

That psychologist sucks and obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing. I would say don’t give up on it but I know it’s expensive in the states. Move to Canada! Seeing a psychiatrist and family counselor are free! You shouldn’t have to empty out your pocket to get help.

CA ROUTE 12 is fucking HAUNTED!!

I’m not afraid of spirits or unseen entity, maybe that’s why I always see fucking things!

While driving to VACAVILLE CA on ROUTE. 12 I saw a fucking MAN in all black with a long fucking curly hair!
When I saw it/him,I asked my sister, DID YOU SEE THAT?! she ignored me and she started praying! The fucking freeway was empty, dark and foggy! It was 2:34am to be exact! WOW!!!i will never forget that fucking face bro!! Wow!

I thought it was a homeless man walking?! MAYBE! BUT NOT! That was something bro!
