Alot of people are telling me a single coil is best for flavor.. But in my head my brain tells me, double the coil, double the wick, double the flavor. double the fun? :D

Whats everyone's take on this?

Both have its place and can give same or equal results, however I would say that the overall Atty design matters, as well as coil positioning, wicking and airflow/airflow positioning.

For example you could have an amazing single coil RTA/RDA I take the serpent and the wasp/hadalay as an example here, the serpent would give you crappy results in comparison to the other two due to the way that chamber and airflow is designed. Now a single build RTA like the kylin mini is a different story as well, due to its sheer amount of airflow, this is something I would use for flavor and cloud as well as using it with juices I already know.

While the hadlay and wasp I would consider using only when testing juices or flavors with a high ohm coil. I wouldn't use it if I just sit at home chilling for that its not designed in my opinion.

If I want warmer/hotter vapes and decent to high clouds that go with that, I would grab a dual coil Atty, and while I agree back in the day two coils, two cotton were much better in most cases, nowadays single coil atties can be very similar, equal or even superior to the dual builds. But again it comes down to not only the overall design but also wire material and wicking. Etc.

I pretty much agree - except I consider the Hadaly one of the greatest ADV atties for single coils - it is a flavor attie, not a cloudz attie

Yep, this about sums it up and what people need to keep in mind when purchasing a new rebuildable. There are many variables to take into account when buying, building and vaping an atty. The nature of rebuildables is not set it and forget it.

agreed

I don't have the best taste buds but I noticed very little change in flavor going from all dual coil (plain single core claptons) builds to only single coil builds (beefier fused or triple/quad core claptons) now that I squonk. I still get a very satisfying throat/nic hit even if my clouds are a bit less dense but my juice and batteries last longer. At this point I likely won't be vaping dual coils again until we have some better choices for dual battery squonks so I can push more watts through my bigger RDAs.

I tried that "double the fun" thing with a big girl once,,,,,,,,,,,,,or twice,,,,,,,,,,,,,or more.

Turns out the fun is relative to the whole package, not just double the pounds. Single coil/dual coil or skinny girl/fat girl, the fun is relative to the complete set up.

I prefer single coil multi wire builds.. non clapton.. Ie plain wire parallel or twisted builds to dual coils.. not of fan of the high wattage high juice consuming wrapped wire builds. Dual coil tends to need too much air for me to get good flavor.

For a big air flow atty multi coil can be a requirement for flavor..... for MTL tight air single coil is all you need... of course the single coil could be multi wired or two coils on parallel.

But imo 1 vs 2 is more about air volume..... if you have lots of air to displace with vapor 1 coil may not be enough.

Everything depends...right coil and right wick is magic....a single coil advatage are: saving battery power, juice, coil, cotton and easy to build...
I use double fused clapton (N90) 2x28 core and 38g wrap...in my vaporesso revenger mod...PHARAOH rta...it is absolutely magic....flavor and clouds....just 38W and it gives me the flavor i want.

Wasp is the only squonk atty I have used for months.
And I kind of use 2 coils in it.
A single paralell coil.
How many wasps do you have? I've got two so far. I just can't buy extras and not have another mod to out them on. So I'll have to wait. Lol

Should think about a backup honestly. something small.

It really depends on the usage...backup is better than nothing....but in my vaporesso revenger mod charging...it charges quicker than the charger i bought...enook is 3600mah...no problem at all...before i used the mech mod...its like hell...2 hours of battery life sucks.

Second this, for decent flavor on my TF V8 I need to run fused Claptons at .2 ohms and 65 watts. On my Serpent SMM,I used twisted 24 gauge SS, 6 wraps at 3mm. Ohms out at .35, at 35 watts flavor is great and I still get good cloud production. I'm really loving this little RTA.

Imo it a quality vs quantity issue... yes duals using complex braided or wrapped wire build give more quantity of both clouds and flavoring..... but uses lots of juice and wattage.

Me i prefer Great flavor long battery life and low juice consumption.

Current build is 26awg SS at .4 running at 15watts averaged single in an Avocado 22. Same build is in Serpent Alto but at .5ohm. Using diy juice mixed at 10% flavor. .. I can pick out the nuance of individual flavors in the juice. Mix of Latakia Virginia and Burley tobaccos. Yeah I don't produce a fog bank but still more than anything I smoked. Using 6 to 10ml per day.

I used to have a real preference for dual or triple coil RDA's, but lately I'm a single coil tank vaper most of the time. Power is usually around 15 watts. I don't think the number of coils has much influence on my vape experience by itself, atty design and builds are more important.

My favorite tank right now is the DoggyStyle which is single coil. My build preference tonight with the juice I'm using is a 5/4 wrap 28 gauge Kanthal coil with a 3mm ID at 0.85 ohms, with the coil pretty high over the air hole.

Both. I have a new found love for singles, but can't just only use single. Why limit it to just one or the other. There are good atomizers that use two, and one coil.

Typically if it's built for two I use two. But, with the pulse24 if it's a big enough single coil I can go with that.

I think i like my pulse 24 better in single coil mode than the pulse 22. I haven't even tried building the Pulse 24 with 2 coils yet.

How much does wire come into play? I use 26ga SS316L spaced coils for flavor. I've been using GV and UD wire. Would I notice a big difference if I got some wire from Kidney Punch or Advanced supply?

I do this a lot with post less decks. Build a bigger, slightly thicker gauge single coil and enjoy. Modfather RTA, Dead Rabbit does really well in this config and Petri RTA as well.
