I usually use squonkers with RDA's...but the wake is at the top of the list for flavor.

I’m just getting into squonks. Not the biggest fan of mechs or single battery regulated though so I don’t have many options on that front. Rocking a GBox right now and waiting for some more dual battery mods to drop

Yeah, I'd bet there will be a good selection of dual battery squonkers available this year.

Yeah for sure. I know GrimGreen got one coming soon for I think $100... I’ll be scooping that up.

I'm a little surprised not many vendors haven't made more dual batt squonks....there is one hell of a market available

I'm after the GBox myself. There needs to be more regulated sqounk mods instead of mechs all the time!

Yeah I’m not fond of mechs at all. I bought the driptech ds and I keep trying to like it because of how much money I spent on it but I just don’t. I don’t get nearly enough power from them. I was actually thinking about ordering the parts to make a series squonk mod. Now that I could get behind !!! Not bad either, like $45 for the kit.

Anyone else having issues with the airflow control ring on their Wake RTA? The damn ring won’t stay on the tank, it’s fucking annoying as hell. When I put it on my mod I literally have to hold the ring on the rta and then spin my mod onto it rather then screw the rta onto the mod... very disappointed. It works flawlessly but this airflow ring situation is a giant problem for me.

Was it staying in place when you first got the tank? It sounds to me like you're missing the o-ring. It's whitish/translucent, and you probably wouldn't know it was missing unless you knew it was supposed to be there. You should have extras in the goodie bag from Wake.

All the o rings that came with it were either too small or too big. I’m using a different o ring right now with dental floss behind it. It’s staying on but not tight like it should be. Also, it was always a little loose on the tank I just assumed that’s how it was, I didn’t even know it came off at first. I’m assuming they just skipped this one at the factory when they were doing the o rings. No big deal, just super annoying that There isn’t a spare for that exact o ring. I’m hoping they’ll send me 1 or 2 of them.

On a side note, I believe I'm starting to lean towards single coil builds in general. They usually have just as much flavor as a dual coil, and it opens up a whole new range of coils that can be used on various devices. The Govad RDA, for one, is an exceptional single coil only atty that gives a very flavorful vape.
Vandyvape is solid for the most part. I like that they utilize 810, offer 510, dome inside cap for flavor... Competitively priced, and most of all willing to work with people to stay innovative.

I also like geekvape but for A completely different reason. They don't really utilize the 810 on attys they probably should have but I've got love for the avacado 22. Flavor machine.

Does anyone have any wicking issues with the Wake? I can’t get this damn thing to wick right any more. The first build I put in it and wicked was amazing.... I had a great time with it. But ever since I took that build out I just can’t get it to wick right. Constant dry hits.. I thinned the cotton out and it would leak. The only thing I can think of is I use Max VG juice and it can’t keep up with the wicking but then I don’t understand why it worked flawlessly the first build.

If anyone had any issues wicking and figured it out, please let me know. It’s a shame to hAve this RTA just sitting on the shelf this whole time.

On a side note, Wake Mod Co. still hasn’t responded to my emails about my AFC Ring and missing O Rings.

Overall I’m really not having a good time with the RTA or the company.

It’s just sitting on my mod and blocking part of the airflow slot

I think you need to press the ring all the way down. Here's a pic of one of my Wake RTAs. Don't mind the older wick - I need to change it.

When I'm bored I like watch Heavy Metal Vaper's live show. A few weeks ago someone contacted him about their experience with Wake Co's customer service. That person had the same problem with their Wake RTA, but the customer service refused to acknowledge that it was a problem and was pretty rude to the guy. Mike Vapes offered to send the guy a Wake tank that had never been used (cause he felt bad for him)... and that tank was also jacked up...

I'm guessing they had a problem early in the manufacturing process, and the majority of their tanks have this problem so they are forced to just act like it's normal

No, the wick ring is notched and needs to be aligned to be seated properly. I'm surprised how many people don't understand this.

Old thread I know but I lost more juice in the wake than I actually vaped. The flavor was super great but I also could not get the airflow ring to stay on. It is a no go for me if I go back. I do understand the ring is notched.

I could never seen to wick it well either. It is beautiful. Glad to see others like it.

I tried everything before I posted a picture, but no luck still the same situation. Contacted Wake Mod Co through email and by their website but no reply at all.

I see a wicking tutorial in my future... :)
But it'll be a bit before I can get to it - have a few other priorities that need to be taken care of first.

More likely than not, it's the way you're wicking the RTA. I did a video a while back on how to wick the Dotmod RTA, and the build decks are essentially the same.
