Thread seems kinda slow. But I'm gonna post here anyway, since it seems like the most relevant place for this,

Mrs. qg (the little lady) is a big fan of Ego style batteries. She likes the size and weight (Vision Spinner 2 1600mAh for example), and has settled on Anyvape Davide glassomizers as her favorite tank. I like those because they are so dismantleable, making them a piece of cake to clean.

The Davides started out using the Kanger/Evod Protank coil, and then developed a model which would also use Aspire BVC and BDC coils, but would convert back to the K/E Ps. The Aspires didn't work out very well (at least not for us). Replacement coils were often unusable (nasty, burny taste. Wouldn't go away. Acrid to the point of throat stripping.) Also, they are too much trouble to try and rebuild. All of our Davides are now running the K/E Ps.

I can, however, rebuild the Kanger/Evod Protank coils, and rebuild them so that they are better than new. Also with more dependable quality. 6 turns of 30ga. Kanthal on a 1.5mm core, with organic cotton. Comes out at ~1.5 ohms. Vapes great.

This is the lowest resistance I trust running Ego stye batteries at, not to mention that they balk at anything much lower, whether I wanted to or not.

Might need to add she isn't looking to chase clouds, we both vape for flavor. My own preferred rig is a Pioneer4You iPV5 with an Augvape (Thanks, Roxie!) Merlin. Even though I can bump that puppy up to 200 watts and run coils so low it needs extra decimal points I keep a 0.80 ohm coil (7 turns of Kanthal on a 3.0mm core) at around a measly 13 watts. Lower resistance just doesn't give the same flavor. (Neither does fancier wire. I've tried Clapton etc., and they don't seem to make much difference aside from tasting burny more quickly.) I don't need clouds and this seems to max out the flavor.

Which finally gets around to my question. Are there any Ego style batteries out there which are rated/designed for lower resistances. I'm not looking for super sub-ohm, but. down to 1.0 ohm would be nice (0.5 would be better but I'm not going to ask for the Moon.). I'd like to run RBA's with coils in that range for her and she doesn't really like box mods because of the size.

I can rebuild the K/E Ps to lower resistances if I had batteries that would take them. I've done it and put them in the Davides, and tried them out on box mods which can handle the resistance, and it works great. A 1.0 build on a K/E P coil in a Davide makes a really nice vape.

I have gotten little whiffs of possibilities, like the Vision Spinner Plus, but when I go to try and find one actually for sale I strike out.

Has progress on the Ego style batteries just stopped, now that so much of the vaping world has gone to heavily sub-ohm box mods?

Hello!

Yes, you're right... this thread has been very quite lately. Not too many folks in the online community that still use Egos. I'm glad you found us!!

To answer your question... there sure is! ;) Here's just a few:

Many thanks for your very helpful reply.

I really wonder why none of these came up in any of the searches I've done, they all certainly fit the search terms I tried.

I kinda wish they weren't quite so pricey. I expect that's because they are full kits and not just the batteries alone.

I'm avoiding buying anything that needs to be used with pre-made coils I can't rebuild, because of the continuing maintenance costs, so I don't care about (i.e. need) the tanks they come with. I plan to use the batteries with Mrs. qg's Davide tanks with my own Kanger/Evod coil rebuilds, or with one of the RBA's we already have.

But it is nice to know that the sort of thing I was looking for exists in at least some implementation.

Thanks again.

Look around... I just pulled the links from sites I know are legit... you may find them cheaper other places.

This is the one I thought of:

There is a 19mm battery you can get that is the same dimension as your davide's. However the tank it comes with is a workhorse and good with clr coils - made for rebuilding - and just need rewicking once in awhile. A set of 5 coils can last a year. I love them. There's about 10 tanks that use those coils; Wismec amour, pico-s, tron t and s... Some places have them on closeout; heavens gifts, health cabin, vape sourcing, eight vapes? But it's getting harder to find this line. Lots of you tube videos.

Remember; the cl coils are not rebuildable and meh flavor. The clr coils are rebuildable (rewickable) and great. Joyetech just came out with a pro-cl coil for mtl that I haven't tried yet, but it's confirmed they work in the older tanks. It's a great line for budget vaping.

That's good stuff. Many thanks.

I found the Joyetech eGo One Mega V2 batteries for $19.95 sold separate at your Vape Shop link. By far the best price I could track down. The whole starter kit for $34.95, and five-packs of the clr coils for $8.95 are all by far the best price I found.

Batteries look great. Tank and coils seem to have a bit of spread in the various reviews I read, but mostly good.

At any rate, it is certainly the best option by far that I have gotten so far. Not sure when or if I will have the dinero to check them out, but that looks like the next different thing I will try for Mrs. qg if it happens.

Thanks again.

Someone had them for $15. I've ordered from heaven's gifts and health cabin quite a bit. If you can catch one of their free shipping promos (like over xmas) then they'll ship dhl which takes less than a week. The tank is good for mtl. Not dl. I know the ijust is more dl.
