small bore 810 drip tip?

i know the title of this thread sounds like an oxymoron. whats the point of an 810 drip tip with a small bore? isnt that the point of an 810 drip tip... for the larger bore?

well yes, but i prefer a smaller bore drip tip. and i want to use them on my RDAs with 810 connections in the cap... WITHOUT using an adapter. do they exist?

looking to run them on my Vandy Vape Mesh RDA. i do like the tall skinny 810 tip that came with my Goon clone (3FVape), but it does not fit my VVM. so i assume because the goon is a clone that the drip tip isnt the right size. could be wrong.

ive looked up and down FT and 3FVs sites and see a lot of options that say “fits Goon, etc,...”, but im not sure if they will fit because of my goon clones tip experience. can anyone confirm if a real Goon tip fits the VVM?

Wish I knew the answer. Wouldn't mind something tapered like an obs engine dt, 810 fitment but with a narrower bore. Something between 510 and 810, have had crappy luck finding anything that fits that. I realize there's adapters but there's a huge difference between 510 bore (not just the size of the drip tip that fits in the cap) vs an 810 with nothing in between. Like having to choose between a pizza pocket and some jumbo 26" pie.

Uncle was talking about old school 810 connection, the 510 pins came along later.

absolutely. i want the 810 connection, but smaller bore. no adapters . i know a guy who does 3D printing and is damn good at it. anyway i am working with him on some drip tips that fit this bill.

at this point we need to determine which material is FDA compliant that he can print with. can anyone point me in a direction to figuring that out? is there a resource for this kind of info.

I can't offer much help for compliant materials. I did find a few 810's on china based sites like fasttech but their drip tips don't always have the best fitment I've found. Sort of a roll of the dice. One had multiple holes in the base like a spit back guard that I thought might restrict airflow a bit. If too much I could always drill it out.

At this point though I've been talking with lawless drip tips and he said he can do custom bores. He makes them from various colors of resin. For me personally I think a happy medium between the 510 and 810 bore is liable to be somewhere around 8mm to 9mm diameter. Still airier than 510 (or else I'd just use 510 and an adapter) but not as fully wide open as widebore 810. He said it would be no issue. Not 100% sure about price but as far as I can tell the 810's run around $25. They're turned on a lathe from a block of resin as opposed to 3d printed.

Sure beats the cost of a lathe, even small desktop models for turning pen blanks run around $50-70 for the super cheapos, decent ones for any amount of real use are in the $350-500 range. That doesn't include tools (at least not quality or all the necessary knives), additional chuck setups or materials. I've seen some of the lawless tips posted here on VU and in video reviews, they look really nice.

I know it’s not ideal but worth throwing this out there anyway as a potential option to get hold of the drip tip haha

The CoilArt Dpro has an 810 drip tip with a 510 bore and could be what you are looking for I believe?

Also the conspiracy rda (my favourite dual coil) utilises pretty much exactly the same drip tip

pics below (I also like a taller DT but this sits plenty high enough)

@KingPin! That's definitely another possible solution. Doesn't look too bad though not sure how it would fit in rda's with what is it, the grennedy? type 810's. Aka the 810 stem where it slips into the top cap is smooth and the top cap of the rda like the csmnt and mad dog have the oring inside them. That one looks like it has a groove for an o-ring similar to the 810's where the oring is on the drip tip itself.

Here's a pic since I don't know what the proper term is for this part of the drip tip.

May not be the case for the op, not sure which atomizers they're using. Some do use the 810's with the groove and oring on the tip itself. That's the problem I had with finding tips on fasttech, most have the ring on the drip tip. Even if removing the oring I don't know if they'd fit the particular atomizers I've got.

Great thread topic @2c5000 ! I have been pondering that same question for a few weeks. Now that I've read this, I was doing some measurements. My husband has been trying his hand at turning resin tips. He's made some 510s and 2 Cleito tips. Hmmm, I believe I may have found a viable solution. Give me this weekend and I hope to have 1, hopefully 2 prototypes to show you if he has few to no clients this weekend.

(If I hear cussing and loud crashing sounds in the garage, I may need until Monday.)

@2c5000 I'm sure you have found what you were looking for. I just thought I'd let you know that my husband is turning tips now. At my request he's made some 810/Goon to 510 and also a bit wider, about half air flow. He makes perfect goon tips. He just started a website at 3rdpigTips.com that is nowhere close to being finished but he opened an eBay store and sold one already. He'll custom anything. He's made a few other things that I'll fill you in on later. You will want one.
He had them up for auction and BIN so they ended. He's relisting the ones that he managed to get up but he has plenty more.
This is his gig, not mine. I make nothing off this. He has his checking accounts and I have mine. PLEASE, give him 30-45 minutes to get the other tips up. https://www.ebay.com/str/3rdpigstips

The source Trixy mentioned is certainly an option. I pulled the trigger on the Lawless and 9mm inner diameter turned out to be just what I was looking for. I think custom is the way to go, initially I thought geez. I had to pay tax and stuff since I'm in the same state as Lawless, total came out to like $31 I think. It's more than I paid for either of my rta's, almost as much as I paid for my mod - but worth it. For me anyway, the tip I ordered fits extremely well in both my rda's and my latest rta so it's not like it's only good for one setup and just sits there.

Not sure if more air (thin wall on the widebore) or if less air is what you're after. I think a lot of the newer 810's are for looks. The tip that came with my manta is 810, looks to be a hair bigger than a 510 id but it's definitely more restricted than my custom tip. The outside diameter is wider though and it's a really thick wall. Looking top down it looks like a lemon lifesaver candy. No reason for it to be that wide around the exterior except for looks. I don't find it all that comfortable on the mouth something that wide. Others may, who knows.

Thank you, Synphul. And you're right. There have been so many times I wanted a certain tip in the middle of the one I had, still maintaining the OD shape, or a goon that slightly tapered inward, and wasn't like putting my mouth over a tail pipe. He also did one for my Kylin Mini. Although it's a goon/810, the ID hole is less than the entire 810 typical ID. So he made me one that looked like a goon, but wasn't.

I had to give him a lesson in Vaper Analizm. He does guarantee his work and will create any ID, OD and height you wish. I needed one quick for my my last review of the Greek Temple Mod. I was hoping to have the Zeus tank but there wasn't enough time. He can even press-fit Beast tips.

Anyway, keep him in mind. 3rdPig at eBay and 3rdPigTips. PM me or email him at 3rdPig * Gmail.

I'd even looked into it, some people mentioned hobby style desktop lathes and using pen blanks. Some of the cheapest desktop mini lathes I could find were like $60+, plus the pen blanks, plus the cutting tools and factoring in practice since I've never turned anything by hand like that. Not to sell or do production work, just to be able to fiddle with my own.

Once considering all that $25-30 sounded realistic just to have one made. I'm sure I would have spent around 20 give or take trial and error with various 'cheap' chinese mass produced tips and may not have found what I was after. I'll definitely keep him in mind or mention to others who may be looking for tips.

I know what you mean about the whole tailpipe issue lol. I had my 810 tapered, it doesn't look like a lot but it's definitely more comfy to me.

Great! That's a nice tip. He's uploading more tips today. The cost of the blank will determine the final cost. I had leadpipe58 make me a tip with a $10 blank. So, the price was higher. Chuck just bought a 3D printer and has made some nice stuff, including a necessity many of us don't have. I love mine. It was the worst of the bunch. Fourth time was a charm for him to perfect this item. I'll give him a link to this thread.

Have a great Sunday!

@2c5000 Check out 3rdPigTips.com . He has some and does custom work pretty cheap. I prefer narrower 810s and he's done me real well. He does have 810 to 510s listing I think. There are more tips not uploaded. Contact him. :)

They're getting harder and harder to find now. All these places mentioned are gone now...

One might consider looking for small bore 810 drip tips in the material of resin. This is surmised from an article on drip tips. Would seem logical smaller bore sizes would be made in resin.
