Thanks. I like the way they look with a poly finish. But still prefer the way they feel when I use a wax/oil finish. Unfortunately I have found that if I do not seal in the dye. It can bleed off unto my hands even months later. And yes I know about drying oils like Boiled Linseed Oil. but do not like the way they change the colors of the dyed mods. Still looking and experimenting tho.

This is my 1st regulated squonker too though I do have many non-squonk regulated mods. First impressions are that it is very well made, high quality, water proof chip squonker. Came with 2 bottles, silicone and less soft plastic, both good quality bottles, as in they don't leak. You can turn off the led rgb light. It has a good amount of weight to the mod, but I don't think that it is too heavy that it won't get carried, it's tiny. About the same size as a PhantOhm mech just a mm or so wider. I plan on using it as an everyday carry mod, but will still carry one of my Noisey Crickets as back up. Noisey Cricket has spoiled me, have yet to find any mod that hits the way it does. I have 14 mech squonkers that may be taking a shelf nap while I put the RSQ through it's paces. I picked mine up at VapeHappy on the 22nd and got it today, very pleased with it so far.:D
I ordered one as soon as you mentioned "waterproof chip"
Is the 510 spring loaded?

Whoops! sorry did not mean to add to offense when quoting you.

No offense I Was unsure which mods you build. Getting old and have CRS.
But I remember that you make good mods.

I plan on playing with making Stab wood in the near future.
Have a vacuum pump and chamber and a nice shop toaster oven for the curing.
I use the toaster oven for powder coated small stuff.
Been picking out some burls from my firewood pile.

Don't know how long you've had it but, how is the battery life so far?

Ooh - that Sunburst finish is glorious!
Nice mods!

Wanted to share with my fellow squonkers what I have been up to lately.
Just finishing up a 8 mod run. with most being custom ones I have never done before so ran into some unique problems that caused them to be delayed longer than I anticipated. So very sorry to the people who requested them.

I also discovered that photographing dyed wood is more of an Art than I ever knew. I even built a light box to try and aid me with mixed success. I know it is probably my camera but a new one is not in the cards at the moment. It still amazed me tho that even a slight adjustment to light source or object could photograph so differently and still not agree with what my own eyes are seeing . I added some extra pics using same white background in light box to show you what I mean.

One of my customers wanted me to transfer a DNA regulator board into a custom mod. Unfortunately the board arrived to me DOA. So could not do. They still wanted a mod made but left it up to me on what got built. So I made 4 for them to choose from. Once they decide which one they prefer I will then put up the remainder for sale in the new/old Trading post section. (Yea I am back baby!)

First up are 2 18650 mech squonkers with custom switch. 1 dyed yellow and black in birdseye maple. Came out more gold color. And 1 dyed blue in curly maple hard to photograph.

Next a 20700 mech squonker with custom switch dyed orange in curly maple

i9vctu1.jpg

And finally one that I am exceptionally pleased with how it turned out.
A dual 18650 squonker with an OKL-T/20 regulator board (Think HexOhm V2) up to 110 watts. Dyed with yellow ,orange and red. In a major sunburst pattern. Was not able to identify the wood. and only had enough to make this one.

6FGiAM7.jpg

This next one was strictly custom request. Here is what they wanted a single 20700 squonker with a switch on flat side for thumb fire. and other side rounded with squonk hole. Dyed purple with sunburst pattern. In curly maple. Because switch and bottle were on opposite sides had to make this a mosfet mod. and installed a black switch as per customer request. I think I hit all the requests. Another one very hard to photograph.

I will add the last 3 later on.
Please let me know what you Bonkers think.
Thanks.

So far so good though I just got it today, put a fresh Sony VTC6 in on a .33 build and it is still kicking after 3 hours or so. I'm really spoiled having used a Noisey Cricket as my daily carry for the last 2 years, so I'm not the best judge of battery life in a regulated mod.
P.S. I just swapped out my batteries and one of the huge magnets came off the door and stayed stuck to the battery. Not that big a deal, little crazy glue and it's good as new. This has the largest door magnets I've ever seen.

Look forward to seeing what you produce. I too have started gathering the parts to make some stab wood . Trying to find an affordable to me vacuum pump. My experiments with hand vacuum pumps have been less than successful so far. but I continue on.

I got mine on sale at Harbor Freight.
I use it for AC work mostly seems solid so far.

VG/PG is heavy in bulk, got a gallon of VG a while back was something like 16lbs lol. It’s awesome to look at a gallon and know that’s pretty much a whole gallon of juice (more after nic and flavor). What makes you feel better about the purchase is calculating how many thousands of dollars worth of liquid you have at vape shop prices :confetti:
1 pint = 16oz X 2 = 1 quart X 4 = 1 gallon thus 1 gallon = 8 lbs

Green for me for sure that just looks so (!!! SICK !!!) & possibly blue for my wife.

Didn't you pick her a blue RSQ? Perhaps you could mix things up a bit or maybe she really loves blue.. ?

That green just makes me want to jump on a kawasaki supersport and break the sound barrier. Looks so nice with that matching tip.

@snake94115 , not to rain on your parade or anything like that, but do you feel comfortable with mech. mods? Most of the ones you've been making goo goo eyes at are mechs. Please make sure you feel at ease with them before venturing any capital. Just a friendly suggestion.

What sales? Didn't see any good deals on regulated squonks, did you?

Nothing spectacular for regulated squonkers, that's for sure

Still waiting for somebody to come up with a decent regulated squonker for long distance travel -

Was considering that MVP deal on the hotcig rig, but kinda vowed would not spend more than $50 on any mod that isn't exactly what I need

Here is what I would settle for regulated-wise: a Wraith that doesn't fall apart

They were perfect for flying. Pull out the bottle, put the cap on it and put the bottle in the stupid ziplock baggie for liquids for carry on

Before landing, you pop it back in the mod and you are ready to fog up the nearest bathroom

Coulda lived with the Therion, but the battery life is so poor that it is seriously impractical for being on the road

Nor on custom mods.

Could be custom modder sales on twitbook.

Fasttech had a sale, but I have enough RDA

There hasn’t been any deals on Facebook. Not even larger mod batches (tho JB Woodworks looks like he’s got a decent supply for this week).

Only cool thing I saw was a limited edition Da Vinci mod on sale. Was a black skull for 160 euros (30 euros off)

Lump of coal, that's all :)

Really, I mean really liking the looks of that Luna squonker :inlove:

Wish they weren't still on preorder - would love to squonk one to see if it might work out for what I need

Yeah, I would have bought one otherwise. You know, at work I vape my Pulse and Inbox equally. I get about the same battery life out of both and only have the Inbox at 35 watts. Pretty much the same build in both. Put the batteries in the charger and they are reading about the same volts.

Just saw your edit.

You know davinci are just up market clones, right?

I'm fine with clones, but not €200 clones

The Inbox is okay - but it sux for airplanes and twice while traveling shoved it in my pocketbook w/o turning it off and the firing button got easily pressed and went off and didn't know until the smell of burned cotton wafted through the air

Love my mechs, but not always practical on trips, like the one I'm taking next month

I hear you about the Inbox. Thought the RSQ was going to be what the doctor ordered. But when the goddamn magnets fall off the first day, hmmm

That didn't scare me too much - though that is kinda janky for right out of the box, lol

I only use regulated squonkers for traveling - on my home turf am strictly a mech girl

Sometimes I use mechs on the road, but if I think maintenance might be a hassle to squeeze in I leave them at home

Close your eves and pretend the Pulse is made out of Delrin. That little fucker is awesome. I'd take it anywhere. Regulated squonkers worth a shit are in short supply at the moment.

I have 36 awesome mech squonkers - but they all need maintenance at the wrong time if you don't keep up, lol

Heck, when I know I'll have free time at night on trips, I like to travel with CVs - they are a super-good choice for airplanes because their bottles also cap. No mess ever.
