Real Flavors flavorings?

Ok I do 70/30 too :). My process is-
1.) flavor first in the bottle.
2.) add pg and shake vigorously.
3.) add half of intended VG and shake vigorously.
4.) add remaining VG amount and shake again.

I like to think the flavor is mixed better this way. I mean opposed to add everything and shake. Funny how we all develope our own little rituals.
I do 75/25 but yeah, just like you would normally mix. Since there is hardly if at all pg in real flavors it will come out a higher vg mix anyway. I have done all vg before but added distilled water, about 2 to 3% so that it is not crazy thick.

I want to say Fruit Pebbles I really liked at 3.5%. @fozzy71 is the real flavor guru, I generally like whatever he has to say

3.5% is where I tested it at, just decided to bump it up a tiny bit last time I mixed. My RF knowledge and flavor stash pales in comparison to some of the people on ELR but I quit following all the RF threads over there as they just caused me to order more flavors and I already have so many that a lot will go bad before I use them up.

I finally got around to using the sc grape that I got when it was one of the giveaway flavors. Mixed it with the sc soda base, bit at 2.5% and wow is it strong but real tasty. The next day I put it in the Kaees Soloman and it is still strong but settled a bit, sure is tasty, like a sunkist grape soda. Gonna see how it steeps to see if it settles down or if I should drop the % down a little.

I also tried the butter pecan pie sc tester at 2.5%, been steeping for 2 months now. The flavor is still there, sort of tastes like butterfinger. It is real tasty but seems to be missing something to make it just wow. 2.5% is more than enough flavor and it hasn't faded.

Sorry to report but in my experience total waste of money.

I have tried the Baklava and Spiced Apple Cider (Sorry if I got the names wrong) and both are useless at any percentage. :poop::poop:

I even contacted Real Flavors and was told they would send me a Praline flavor to fix the Baklava.

Never received said flavor and never heard back from them.

Again, total waste of money, Nic and PG/VG to mix

Better to flush you DIY budget down the toilet.

Much more satisfying IMHO

I got some on my desk. Haven't vaped it in a few days.... yep still yummy. I pulled 30ml out of the 100ml batch a couple weeks ago, after the discussion in this thread, and have been enjoying it. I think it had just barely steeped a month when I started vaping it.

ive tried about a half dozen flavors in the SC all are ok, but the brownie is excellent no steep required

Hi all,

First when I tried some of Real flavors (SC) with 98% VG and 2% flavor using a dripper it was very tasty, but when I tried to use the same patch in a tank it was very week.

After many tries I found that to have the same flavor with 2% on a dripper you have to increase it to about 8% if you will use a tank !!!!!!!!!

This happened with me in about 8 different flavors as single or mixes.

Is this normal ?

I am a PG allergies, so I will not be able to use any PG components in my liquid

By the way, I tested it with many different drippers, tanks, rtda, coils & Watt

Thanks for your help

Ok so now it has steeped 34 days. I tried it (fruit pebbles) yesterday. I really like it! Its not a spot-on, crisp, fruity pebbles to me but its really fricken good! Today I took a portion of it and added a little CAP-Cereal27, and FA-Meringue. Sooooo goood.

I promptly made 120 MLs today to enjoy after the new year. I will definitely be eyeing up Real Flavor SCs in the future. Call me pleasantly surprised :). Thanks for helping me get squared away @fozzy71 .

yeah, they have some real good flavors IMO. Not always spot on but many are quite vapeable standalone and can work well in recipes. Just make sure you check the flavor notes on ELR or search their forums when thinking about ordering flavors if you can't find info about a flavor here. I have 60 - 70 of their flavors so far and have quite a few more on my wish list to try but I am trying to hold off on ordering more flavors until I use up some of what I have already and need to restock a flavor or three.

Real Flavors has the worst customer service. They Delete any comments saying anything bad about them on their facebook. The reviews for them both on facebook and their website are fake. They take weeks and week to ship stuff out. I sent them a question weeks ago and still not heard anything back. They won't be stealing my money again.

I have a friend that has been looking for a good pebbles flavor. What percentages did you use for RF Pebbles, CAP Cereal 27 and FA Meringue?

I have had the same experience.
I never had those issues but I haven't ordered from them in a while. Their owner used to be active over on the ELR forums so you may want to try and PM him over there or post in the RF thread. I don't frequent that forum any longer so I can't be sure if he still posts there regularly.

I'm sorry, I didn't see this. I added 1% of each. I wouldn't describe it as a true pebbles flavor tho. But it is a pretty delightful flavor all by itself.

This was several months ago that I contacted them and before I started DIY. The strange thing is that I received an email from them asking if I received a response. When I said no, I was expecting to hear soon but never did.

Thanks — no worries as I have been busy and caught up in the holidays.

I've ordered a large portion of their range, and haven't really found anything special. In terms of "new" flavor vendors, I've gotten more enjoyment out of the WF flavors I've tried (which is most of them).

Ya, I didn't have the best experience either. I placed a large order directly from them but wasn't able to check the package right away. A couple weeks had passed, and when I finally had the chance I found that a flavor was missing. When I contacted them, they simply said that too much time had passed and there was nothing they could do. Rather disappointing.

Yeah, the VG line is weak, I don't think they even sell the VG line anymore. The only flavors I liked in VG are Bread Pudding and Cinnamon Custard but both of those flavors are not good in the SC versions.

Real Flavors do make some good flavors in the SC line like Strawberry Milkshake, Strawberry Gelato, Pineapple, Aged Bourbon Cream and a few others but the VG line was a huge disappointment.

Take the vg line up to 15-20% and steep 6w. The sb lemonade isn't bad, needs a lemon boost imo, but I'm not a huge sb fan. Brownie is okay at 13% but again needs help. Orange cream is a good base to work off of, same with orange candy. Haven't gotten around to the others yet.

SC means no vg. 10% is way too high for the sc flavors. I start them at 3% for sft (single flavor tester), usually use at 0.5-3% in a mix. Most flavorings if used too high will be close to flavorless regardless of brand. Doesn't make sense but that's the way it just is. Try them at 3%, most of the fruits are good enough within a 3 days to a week. ABC for me takes a couple weeks to bloom.

I have tried many RF and they all are flavorful at 2% stand alone. Now none of them have made me switch to them versus FA, they are all excellent. I do use Fudge Brownie as a stand alone at 3% as oe of my ADVs.

You should use a eliquid calculator, Google it and a few good one should show up. If you are using 100% VG then it will take longer for the flavor to steep, VG is not as good a carrier of flavor than PG.

I have never tried the real flavors pistachio so can't comment on that. For there Super Concentrates like has already been mentioned they require less, I use 3% or less depending on the flavor. Some of there super concentrates like baked bread requires a tiny amount, like 1 drop per 10ml or it over powers. For real flavors SC strawberry I use 1.5 to 2% and it really comes through.

The higher your vg the longer it takes the juice to steep. Maybe try to cut the juices with 20% pg. Enter 20pg/80vg into the calculator along with nic and flavor at the % you used. Enter the flavor as a pg base. That will tell you how much pg to add to your mixed juices.

That is great advice.

I have made 100% VG but usually add distilled water to reduce the viscosity but it is generally not as flavorful as a 80vg 20pg blend without a long steep.

With baked bread if your not tasting it a lot with just 1% then something is definitely wrong. I am going to guess that you are mixing all VG and expecting a great shake and vape, that generally doesn't happen. I mix 75vg 25pg and usually about 10% flavoring total and the flavor is there as a shake n vape and improves over time.

My only pg comes from salts (250mg) and flavors. I mix vg+6%dw. It's thick but the Nanos wick fine which was a pleasant surprise.

No I don't mix SC flavors at 10%. 3% maybe 3.5 tops.

10% or less is for total flavoring, like say I use 2% strawberry, 2% cream, 2% cheesecake, 3% whipped cream and 1% marshmallow, the total flavor percentage is 10% but not 10% for 1 single flavor. Sorry if I did not make that clear.

The Real Flavors line has some dogs in it for sure ( I think I tried most of those personally, lol ) but they do have some good ones too.

If I remember correctly, the SC line is formulated using a alcohol extraction and as a result, may need some extra time for that aspect to dissipate fully. I don't normally recommend this but with alcohol based flavors, I will sometimes let a mix sit out, covered only with a paper towel, for a couple of hours just to let the alcohol evaporate off.

If all else fails, perhaps that might be worth trying, on a smaller scale of course.

thank all guys reply
I will add 10 ml pg since calculator 20/80 100ml mix its closer to my bottles (60ml VG and 10 ml flavor)
and of course some nicotine

I ll have to ask again, thanks for everyone clarify that 10 % flavor is for mixes, but I already make singe flavor
so anyone can confirm I can make like 300 ml liquid pg/VG and with nice flavor with a single 10ml flavor?
