@freshage Welcome to VU. Ipower and Nauti 2 perfect to learn and grow with. Your tank will have several coil options, I would encourage to buy a pack of 1.6Ω and 0.7Ω to find out what you like best. Just keep the ones you like the least for backups. As soon as you can buy a backup mod/tank as a just incase.

I think most reviewers are sincere - and begin with a genuine desire to help other vapers. That may or may not change as they progress

Reviews are especially helpful for newcomers, but it is important that new vapers understand how reviews usually work - and that anyone with an internet connection and a cell phone camera can become a youtube reviewer.

Using a review to attack someone who did not agree with you is laughable
Not as bad as attacking the reviewer himself ad hominem to the point that he has to respond to protect his professional reputation against statements he didn't even make.

Do you plan to apologize to him or do you stand by your lack of integrity accusation?

Would you or someone here explain the difference between higher and lower Ω coils?

A 1.6Ω coil will be used at lower watts, maybe 8-16w. A 0.7 mtl coil you might go 13-25w. If you need a more complete explanation you will have to wait for someone else to come along. Took me forever to get the higher Ω the lower the watts needed. lol

By the sounds of it, I want a high ohm coil so I can vape MTL without burning my throat in the process. Maybe I'm missing something, the previous vape I had was horrid to go direct to lung, would burn and cause me to cough.

It was the Eleaf iJust 2 pen. Between 0.3 and 0.5 ohm from what I'm reading. So maybe I'll have to use the 1.8ohm coil that comes with the nautilus 2?

That is a proven winner for a great number of new vapers :)

It will have competition from the MTL atty that should be released out of pre-order this week. It will be interesting to see which one wins.

http://digiflavor.com/project/siren2/

Apples and oranges;

The Siren 2 Digiflavor is an RTA - the Nautilus 2 is a tank that takes pre-made coils

The Siren is also unproven - may or may not live up to the manufacturers claims

Not saying it will be a bad RTA, it's just not not comparable to a tank that takes premade coils, they are different types of atty :)

It is only apples versus oranges to people that don't want to or can't rebuild or don't want to spend more money on premade coils. To someone who doesn't mind either, it is a real contest for better MTL atty.

I already stated the Siren 2 was in pre-order and it would be interesting to see which one will eventually win so of course it is unproven. Once it is, it will be a real interesting comparison for those that just want the best MTL experience and don't mind spending either more money on premade coils or more time on rebuildables.

They are not the same thing at all, and the motive of the vaper does not matter

Generally (not always) an RTA will beat a Tank for flavor - but they are not the same thing, the same way an RTA is not the same as an RDA

I never said they were the same thing. It was a contest of overall better MTL atty for people who are open minded to any coil type.

I am sure someone will eventually do a review comparing the two head on.

What type of e juice does the nautilus 2 tank take? Or does it not really matter?

50/50 is a good start

A lot of places have moved into higher VG juice only :( It is a real disservice to the vaping community as a whole

I agree, and what's up with this 1-3-6mg only crap! :gaah:

Because that is all you can vape in those high-power super sub-ohm RDAs and those tanks they often pawn off on newcomers who later complain because it is about as far from a cigarette as a skateboard is from a car

Welp, it's all arrived, LOVING the smoothness of it compared to the last one, so far it's amazing.

Q though, with the eLead, I've updated the firmware and now when I vape from the device, it just shows how long I'm holing the button for. Anyone know how to change that?

Congrats on new gear. Glad to hear you are enjoying it. Sorry I can't help with you problem. I would go to youtube for help with firmware.

Welp, it's bricked, left it charging for a bit, came back to upgrade the firmware, didn't even do anything other than take it off the charger and try a couple more vapes and nothing. It has what I assume is a boot loop the moment I put the tank on it (with either coil), without the tank, it displays menu properly but only if plugged in. When not plugged in there is absolutely no response at all.

I'm going to leave it charging a while longer but something tells me this is a bad mod... I'm not happy at all. I suppose that's what happens when it's made in china... Cheap parts.

Just an update, it simply will not power on unless plugged in with USB either to socket charger or PC. If you try to screw the tank in whilst it's plugged in via usb, it power cycles (on and off). I've tried holding the reset button down, upgrading firmware (which as it's responsive when plugged in via USB, it can be recognised). Still nothing. Raised a ticket with the shop I bought it from.

Did you take it off the computer and do a factory reset? Try posting another thread stating you need firmware assistance.

I tried what I assume is a factory reset (holding reset button down), I'll post another thread now. Super disappointing that it only lasted 4 pulls from it and a bit of charging.

I think upgrading software is highly overrated and usually unneeded- have never done so once in over four years of vaping

Just see too many posts like yours. Unless the mod acts glitchy I would not worry about upgrading software in the future

I do believe there are ways to reset the mod, but unfortunately, I personally cannot help you with that, but someone else might :)

I don't think your mod is broken. I think you just missed a step while upgrading. Good luck. Come back to this thread and let us know how it turned out.

Sadly no steps were missed, confirmed upgrading firmware.

I've ordered another to replace it and will send this one back.

It simply won't turn on unless it's plugged in, if I plug it in and attach the tank, it power cycles. Even using an old tank I had laying around does the same. The mod is entirely broken unless I open it up. Which I'm not willing to do incase I can't fix it and then I'm unable to return it.

I didn’t read through all the post here so I’m not sure if someone suggested the Kanger NEBOX starter kit. I’m just eager to help a beginner. I thought of this because you said you’d like something the size of a cigarette box.

Just an update, VapeNW have agreed to give me a refund on the first defective unit. The second has worked flawlessly. I've tried both the 1.9 and 0.9 ohm coils, and personally, I'm enjoying the 0.9 ohm coil and going direct to lung... More satisfying and helps stint my craving more it seems. The juice I've got is a properly cheap and nasty one from a local shop here. So now I need to find something good!

I think I see @freshage becoming a diy’er in the near future. If you can’t find a juice that suits your needs...DIY! Look into nic salts while your at it.

I am a bit of a tinkerer, being a geek, it's what I do best! Question, how often should I replace the coil?

That’s difficult to answer. I think the general rule with Pre-Built coils (the ones that come in a 5 pack) is one MAYBE two weeks. That really depends on juice, vg/pg ratio, wattage, the coil design. Example: I have a 50/50 vg/pg juice that I mixed. The flavor I mixed in isn’t really sweet, sweeteners gunk up your coil. I’m vaping it in an aspire breeze (mtl setup) & I’d be lucky if I got five days out of one coil. It’s more like 3-4 days. Others can get seven days plus vaping max vg on a direct lung setup. I’ve found that after the coil breaks in,(that cotton funk gets vaped away)you’ve been vaping for a few days, and the flavor changes, it might taste burnt or the quality of the vapor drops (& your batts are charged) or the cotton darkens, it’s time to change the coil.
