As a (serious) vaper, and DIY enthusiast I’ve been searching for apps that can do what I want to (do it well and do it easily), but I have not been able to get anything that fully meets my needs… So, I started to do my stuff in Excel. This soon evolved to an Access database. But being stuck to a computer is a problem, so I started to develop bits and pieces in Apps for my smartphone. I have now comped all the different pieces into a single app – VaporSuite.

My goal is to have the ULTIMATE tools for DIY coil-builders and juice-makers, as well as help vapors to keep track of their consumables and vaping expenses.

The app is just about ready for testing. I am just busy with some final cleanup and my own vigorous testing, but it should be ready for external testing in a couple of days. I am looking for people that will be willing to help me with beta testing.

My requirements for beta testers are:
  • Have an Android Smartphone (version is not important).
  • Regularly design and make your own coils.
  • Design your own recipes and make your own juice. (Doesn’t have to do both coils and juice, but it will be beneficial.)
  • Will do vigorous testing and report back on any crashes, funnies and questionable results.
  • Give feedback on what they like and don’t like, and suggestions for improvements.
  • Willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement – valid until the app is released publicly.
Anyone interested in (or willing to do) testing can contact me here via pm. Please give a bit of information about yourself and why you would be a suitable beta tester. I will send you a questionnaire and make a final decision in a couple of days.

In the next couple of posts, I will give a short description of the app, the different modules, and some of the features.

VaporSuite_0_MainScreen.png

VaporSuite main screen: gives access to the 5 different modules:
  • Juice Recipes
  • Coil Design
  • Journal
  • Ohm’s Law
  • Vaping Achievements (shown on the main screen). This module keeps track of the motivational info: days smoke free (or days vaping), cigarettes eliminated, cost savings, etc. Makes provision for completely quit smoking, or reduced smoking.

General Features of the VaporSuite app:
  • Live calculations throughout – i.e. no need to ever click “calculate” to see the results.
  • Three-way data entry for often-changed data: number input, increment/decrement, and slider.
  • Full CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) functionality for all data tables with easy access to each.
  • Most items can be set as favorite or not, enabling all lists to be rapidly changed to show all items or only favorites.
  • Automatic backup at exit, including user selectable copy of backups to Dropbox.
  • International - User selectable currency symbol, date and time formats.
  • Notes can be added for just about everything. Note boxes expands to always show all the notes entered.
  • Help for every screen (under development).
  • Video tutorials (under development).
  • First development is for Android devices. iPhone app may be developed after that (if allowed by Apple).
  • User Interface is designed specifically for phones (smaller devices). It will work on tablets, but may not look as nice as on phones!

Any chance of iOS version?
I would like to port the app to iPhone as well (after development on Android has been completed), but I believe that Apple is not allowing any vaping related apps on the iStore. I Will look deeper into this when the time is right.

Wow this looks epic!! I've only just started with diy juice and currently using premade coils and wicking myself so no point in me testing, but will definitely purchase on release as looks exactly like what I've been trying to find!

Couple of spelling errors:

. "Glycerin" or "glycerine", not "glycerene"

."Propylene", not "propolene".

Would it be possible to be able to specify nic level and PG/VG ratio for each individual ingredient? I've continued to use http://www.ecigvape.com/pvn_calculator.php and absolutely NO OTHER precisely for that capability -- no other calculator has it, except ecigvape's.

Thanks for the corrections!!! I need that kind of critical person on the beta test team! (I've sent you a PM).

With VaporSuite you can "design" your own components (ingredients) and specify the VG%, PG%, Water%, Alcohol% and Nicotine mg/ml, individually. You can also "tag" each component as a Base, Nicotine Base, Thinner, or Flavor (Flavour ;);)), to be used as such in your recipes.

With VaporSuite you can even create a recipe for this component from the "pure" components easily! You can use this to make batches of this base and maintain full stock control!

Here's a screenshot of such a recipe:
VaporSuite recipe for base.png

And here's the screenshot for the component design:
VaporSuite base design.png

PS: I haven't corrected the spelling yet, but I will!

Thanks for the compliment!

I am sure that using the app will be even better than what it looks like here.

Hopefully launch is just a couple of weeks away!

Hmm, that could be workable. I first started using the ecigvape calc because of the ability to specify nic and PG/VG for each individual ingredient because I was using WTA at the time, which is 100% VG, yet I need extremely high (85%-87%) PG in my vapes, so I had to be VERY careful. Nowadays, I'm not using WTA any longer, but I do use Flash, for better TH, and I make it into a "premix", to make it easier to handle -- too much of it, and I just cough, too little and I might as well not even bother vaping, if there's no TH. I'm currently up to "Sweet 5X Flash" -- I add a bit of nic and sweetener to 100% PG, along with the Flash, so that the presence of the Flash doesn't bother the flavor too much. Being able to specify that as a "thinner," with its own nic level and 100% PG status, would be helpful.

I returned the completed PDF, PM. :)

Just a note on iOS. My company has several apps for iOS which they don't put up on the App Store. They are downloaded through a URL instead. Maybe worth looking into? That may get around the App Store.

I'd love to beta test. I am constantly ripping out builds and trying to build the greatest to suit my vaping needs. I'm also going to be blending juice and would love to have it as easy as your set up looks.
