Oh, is it one of those where you have to put two wires thru two holes AT THE SAME TIME? I fucking HATE those. I got one of my Magmas recoiled recently and it took goddamn FOREVER to get both of those damn leads thru the holes at the same time. ARGHHHH!!! I was considering just wrapping those around the screws too, but I don't know if it would work that way in an atty that's made for sticking the wires thru the holes. But those are as goddamn impossible to deal with as the plastic shells on new CDs! Or really, the plastic pkging on ANY FUCKING THING!!

Andria
Nope not even any holes, the screws trap the wires under their heads. I think the Kayfun 5 copied the STM improvement.

I'm really glad you are happier now & have someone to share your life with :)
After my last break up I prefer to be alone alot, I'm not ready to share my feelings with someone and I like to keep things to myself but I do believe love is out there for everyone & you should stay positive.

Things happen for a reason even if bad leads to good.

It's really good you don't go to meetings, I never found them helpful. I'd just freeze up an not say anything.
Keep up the good work!

Well, if you don't say anything, that's why they weren't helpful. I stopped going because most of the folks at local meetings seem to have just substituted going to AA every fucking day for drinking every fucking day, and while that's an excellent thing to do in your first 90 days, or even your first year, it's really not how the program is intended to work -- the program is a tool, to enable you to get a life, and now that I've gotten a life, I don't need to waste an hour of it daily at an AA meeting -- but after my mom died, you can bet your ass I was at a meeting, because I needed the reminder that drinking won't fix bad feelings; you just have to live them and get thru them and heal from them.

The program also shows you how helping others can help you, and for that, I am always ready -- that's why I never hide the fact that I am a long-term recovering alcoholic, because someone with 10 days or 6 months who's going thru some bad times might need to know that going thru bad times without alcohol is actually possible, even for 10-15-20-25 years -- they also need to know that no one is ever "cured" from alcoholism; if you were ever once an alcoholic, you still are, and drinking again is just going to prove that to you all over again -- though some do need to have that proof in a painful way, to really get the message -- I did!

That's also why, despite not knowing much about the newer hardware, I'm always ready to help those new to quitting smoking via vaping -- it worked for me, and I can pass along strategies that worked well for me -- the hardware doesn't matter nearly as much as the commitment to quitting and sticking out whatever difficulties may arise.

Well, that's pretty much exactly what Kayfuns and Achilles do too. I just wrap the wires around because that way they STAY trapped, instead of popping out from under.

A while back someone said that they hope the new EFC would be better than the old one. Has something changed?

I haven't noticed a "new" ECF. I did see retired recently and noticed that his title was "Administrator" rather than "Moderator" which I thought was interesting. Not completely sure what it means but it made me think that they may have stripped him of some of his power.

I am not sure of the rankings but would have thought that Administrator was a promotion from Moderator to reward his stellar past performance?

Dang, Sunday already and back at it in the morning :(

Barely unpacked and already missing this:

I always felt that way after coming home from panama city beach, FL, when I was a teenager. My parents always took us down there for a week every summer, though one year we did Myrtle Beach, SC instead -- which was AWESOME, actual surf after that bathtub called the Gulf of Mexico! :giggle: But i always felt "homesick" for FL, after coming back.

Evening fugee's and GFY :D

Today makes 52 years for me and I got as a present a grinning wiggling little boy full of kissies and very happy to help me eat pizza and chocolate cake :). She opened up the front door and he ran in and jumped all over me because he was so happy to see me. Cant ask for a better present than that!
Happy late birthday!!!! Sorry I missed it. I've been really sick. Bronchitis. I think it started from painting my patio roof but it's been awful. Makes me wonder if I already have COPD. My chest was hurting so bad I took a tylenol 3!
Anyway. Hi all. :)

Have not switched to a new juice right before coming down with bronchitis have you?
some ingredients in flavorings can make my lungs sore.
I days exposure to them can take 4 days or so to get better from.

Actually I have cut down on the WTA and have these new tanks that put out more vapor. So, I was kind of wondering if that didn't have something to do with it.

Actually I have cut down on the WTA and have these new tanks that put out more vapor. So, I was kind of wondering if that didn't have something to do with it.

Could've maybe aggravated it, but not caused it or anything. Back when I was fighting that sinus infection and then the nasty cold (which led to a slight bronchial involvement, as colds often do), I still vaped, but found that I vaped a lot less than usual... and I also kept it under 9.5w, instead of right around or just over. It didn't really bother me to vape, but it was hard to taste, especially with that awful cold; I really couldn't taste much of anything for about 2 wks, so vaping wasn't terribly exciting with no taste.

Great that you've started cutting down on the WTA though; I really hate to think how awful it would be if that stuff became unavailable and you still needed it. Fucking FDA. :headbang:

Once an alcoholic always an alcoholic isn't true, I used to get shakes an withdrawals & now I can have drink an leave it a few days. So no don't agree with that phrase sorry but I am glad you've become sober. I couldn't just cut it out cos sometimes I fucking hate being straight headed in this dulled out world!

That means that either you weren't an actual alcoholic... or you're now in denial... because it most certainly is true: THERE IS NO CURE FOR ALCOHOLISM. It's a bell that can't be unrung, and the only way to reach any recovery from it at all is absolute abstention.

Shakes and withdrawal are merely the sign of a detoxing liver. Nothing to do with whether or not one is an alcoholic. However there is one sure clue: blackouts. If you've ever gotten drunk, and did things that you don't remember AT ALL, you lost that time completely but people tell you about things you said or did... that's an alcoholic. Non-alcoholics may wish they could forget the stupid shit they did while drunk, but they don't actually forget anything unless they're actually unconscious. Blackout drunks are walking around and giving every indication that they're conscious... but once they get sober, they don't recall whatever it was that someone says they did or said. And a blackout drunk doesn't have to even be "drunk" to be in a blackout -- one drink can drop them into a blackout. That's what scares me and keeps me sober; I'm afraid I'd never get out of it alive.

No one can tell another person "you're an alcoholic," and expect that person to believe it; it's a perception that MUST come from within, or it doesn't mean anything. But you need to do a lot more reading and research before deciding that you know what alcoholism really is.

You can do shit you don't remember when drunk, doesn't make you an alcoholic.
Yes blackouts are a symptom of alcoholism not disagreeing with you but I used to work with alcoholics.
Everything you said was true but I have had many blackouts over the years, doesn't make me an alcoholic. My mate does really stupid shit when drunk an wakes up in police cells. That doesn't make him to have an addiction so yeah while these can be symptoms it's not the same for everyone.
I'm not trying to pick an argument cos I agree with you, my mate used to have fits an it was very upsetting. I never wanna get like that :(

Believe whatever you like, it's nothing to me. But if you are an alcoholic... one day, you won't be able to escape that knowledge, or YOU will die of it. Or cause a lot of pain for others, or both.

I've caused enough pain to people in my life without putting my family through the shit of being an alcoholic. It's bad enough being a recovering addict of the brown shit, I highly doubt I'll be adding alcoholism to it. I enjoy booze & respect it.

Brown shit? "Ya don't say?" We got all kinds of "shit" here. Most often the flying holy monkey shit is brown, yet I think I grasp you're referring to "chasing the dragon" or "riding the big horse", correct?

Apologies, welcome ... home. :) I'm a bit la la and often catching up with myself, all 256 of me today, was going in about twenty eight directions at once. I read, sleep comes too quick anymore. Just life. *shrugs*

I going to rack out now. sitting with an ice pack on my knee that tried running away from me today. Ugh, more happy happy joy joy marrie, more mowing w/ motor scythe & prolly doing some other yard/brush work.

I did more housework today. *gasp* I know, it's truly earthshaking, my kitchen is cleaner than it has been for about 5 1/2 yrs. I think it's ready for the floor to be done now. Tomorrow... more dust/cobweb removal, into the living room. And, I probably need to get those Kayfuns wicked up and filled, so I can start breaking them in for the offspring.

Andria

ETA: I found a historic document today, while cleaning behind everything on my vape counter -- the packing slip for my order from MyFreedomSmokes dated Feb 24, 2014... my very first vv3, and what I think must have been my 2nd order of their Virginia, because it was both 6mg and 12mg, so it must have been after I figured out I oughta vape around 8-9mg. That was 4 days before my original quit date.

After I was crowing about how clean my kitchen now is, I was gonna post this, but got sidetracked with something. But this gi-normous kitchen is my #1 reason why I fell in love with this house when we first looked at it -- the kitchen at the last place we rented was little better than a closet with running water and cooking facilities.

cleankitchen.jpg

I blurred the floor, because it's NOT yet clean! :giggle:

That furniture under the window is half vape-station, half-pantry -- the cupboard and the bottom drawer, pantry; the top and the top 2 drawers, vape station -- the 3rd drawer gets any extra from either category that doesn't fit elsewhere. One of my husband's bosses was actually throwing that cabinet away, and my husband rescued it, since he works on the dock. :) (ETA: and the cabinet at the end stays open because it's where I store my flavors -- if that cabinet gets closed, then when my husband opens any of those to put away clean dishes, the mixed aroma of tobaccos and every fruit and cream under the sun just about flattens him!)

That's beautiful!

One of my personal dreams for later when we get the home equity line of credit is to transform it from galley-style to U-shaped -- continuing the cabinetry around the wall with the window, and adding a 2nd "prep" sink there, with another dispos-all. That would be the only sensible way to upgrade it, since the space, wide as it is, is too narrow to support an island. Right now, it's great because the wide space means I can be cooking, and my husband can put away clean dishes, and we don't get in each other's way too much -- with a 2nd sink w/dispos-all, I could keep doing food prep and we wouldn't get in each other's way. There would be a bit more counter space too, though not much addition to cabinet space, since some of the back cabinets would become angles in the new bridging cabinetry, and I wouldn't gain much upper cabinet space at all, because of the window, but since the cabinets go all the way up, without soffits, I could add a bit of extreme-upper cabinetry, over the window. 'Course then, I'd lose my clock, and I dunno, I've had that clock for more than 30 yrs, I kinda like it. :)

Shhh my ass

This thread is deathly quiet already!
The Cone of Silence has descended upon us?

BTW my latest CV button fix works very well.
Vaping over 2 weeks and have not had to disassemble/clean the switch strap/screw at all.
Just wipe the screw head and mod mating surfaces with a paper towel when refilling and nary a glitch.

It is the second rendition.
Use the screw from the FT repair kit. Has a non threaded shoulder and thinner head.
And put a thin inside serrated washer between it and the positive strap.
Works great! And you can snug the screw down.
If you use the origional screw you will need to file the head down some. Too tall with the Glaxtonis washer under it.

Be glad to send you a few of the washers.
Imported from Glaxtonis 3.

Does the firing button still turn well with the added stuff?

Mine are working perfectly, but did have to tear them all down at one point or another and do a little filing

turns with just enough resistance to stay put well. Not loose.

My CV's hit harder after the refit.
And has been consistent.

I was busy with housework again; didn't make a lot of progress, but got some of the worst cobweb-and-dust mess outta here, between a tall bookshelf and the passthru between living room/foyer and eating area. God those 8 legged bastards are busy! And got the piano dusted, though I still need to wipe it down; it's that shiny black lacquer finish, which just seems to attract dust and dirt. And all the CD's and half the LPs are dusted.

Got 3 Kayfuns setup for my son, on 2 vv3's and one of my iPV Minis. The newest iteration of my cherry-vanilla pipe tobacco is really good, so I updated my blog page with the newest recipe. Next time I make it, I might skip the Vanilla Swirl altogether and just use the INW shisha vanilla. The new mix of my smocha is also good, but after vaping a few minutes on those, with their light mild tobacco flavors.... my strawberry just seems to POP! in my mouth; even with those mild, sweet, mellow tobacco flavors (as opposed to the bitterness of cigarettes), that tobacco flavor just seems... I dunno... dirty? My son should like it at least; he used to also smoke Black & Mild's sometimes, so those sweet tobacco flavors should be right up his alley. I also made a separate mix of the strawberry & cream for him, at 70/30 instead of 86/14, 5mg instead of 3mg, and using no Flash; he didn't seem to care for the TH too much, which doesn't surprise me, I never thought Camel cigarettes, his favorites, had any TH at all.
