I am using the Demon Killer coils Hive coil .5Ω which is the reading I get on my tab and on my mod! I believe the ID is 3mm diameter. I use cotton bacon and I make sure it is snug, fluff out the ends and split them and this time I put the tails into the wells! So far so good, not flooding and no spitback! I am now using on my SBody Legend DNA at 25w and I like the vape and the flavor! I am new at all of this and know I have been making some errors, but I am trying! I sure like the single coil much better than the dual!

Sounds great! Yeah, a 3 mm ID is probably best to have enough to split the ends 4 ways. Glad it's working so well now. I'll admit I do like my dual coils, but they're in the full size Engines. Not sure if dual 3 mm ID Claptons or fused Claptons would be too much for the smaller chamber on the 23 mm. The nano sounds like it's set up well for beefy single coils too, which should be a plus.

Yes the tank is much cooler, and ramps up faster, and my wicking technique needed tweeking since this all new to me! I took everyones advice and it really helped my tank and now I am loving it! Next I will build my own coils- I bought some 26g SS and Kanthal wire and a Coil Master kit, which really helps and keeps all my equipment organized! I also purchased some of the Demon Killer coil kits, till I try my hand at building!
Now when OBS comes out with a Nano Mini- I will be ordering those , but for now I am happy with a single coil in the Engine Mini!

Well, first day success for this tank as far as I'm concerned. Easy to build, easy to wick, wife likes it! Flavor seems just fine with the top airflow. Keep seeing some people say how the flavor is muted but I can't tell in all honesty.

Only thing I kind of notice is its a little cooler vape compared to the same build and temp control settings I use for my Boreas, not really calling it a con by any means tho and like I said the flavor doesn't seem affected, for me anyways.

My only suggestion, and this is entirely a personal opinion, is pass on stocking up with Kanthal and just get SS. I say that for reasons of flexibility. SS is as easy to build with as Kanthal, can be cleaned up with low power dry burning (no white hot glow, gently pulses) as Kanthal, and can be used in either wattage or TC mode. That means you don't have to worry about remembering which metal is in which tank to decide on power/TC settings. I have a bunch of Kanthal I bought early on that's just sitting at the bottom of my wire spool storage.

Yeah kanthal I use anymore to try new types of coils to my building arsenal, but anything I really want to use I choose SS316L

Second that, I can't remember the last time I didn't use SS. The SS 316L has treated me well :)

I will still get the OBS Nano, but will hold off a bit and let my card cool down a little bit! If I knew this was coming out, I would have purchased the Nano over the Dual coil Engines that I have. Actually this AM I watched a You Tube tutorial on how to do a single coil build in the regular engine, and I did it and I am very happy, seems to work much better than the dual coil build, very easy, and the tank feels much cooler! Now I couldn't understand a word of what he was saying at the end, but was able to follow what he was doing!

Tried it too. Loving it. Thanks for the tip.

I thought I would give the single coil a try since I already have the Engines and it really does work pretty well! I think the dual coils is too much for my minis, my tank felt pretty hot and the single coil is perfect! There is another way, which is to plug up the two holes on the opposite unused side with someone said was their cell phone rubber usb plug protector. My Crius actually came with a rubber plug, so I will see if that fits and try that way too!

The crius+ came with rubber plugs? I'll search the box tonight.
But I like the rabbit ear wicking. Never done anything like that before, way cool.

My Crius + has 1 plug in with the orings in the little box., not sure if it will fit, haven't tried it, I have 2 Crius+s! Someone else said to just plug with cotton, I will try that too!
I really like the engine mini with 1 single coil- it was very easy to do and the wicking works pretty nice to- haha rabbit ears(you are so right)! Days later my Engine is vaping really nice with no flooding or spitting or dry hits and actually not burning through too much eliquid, and I am happy!

Now that you like the design, you should think about a full size as well. The performance with dual coils is outstanding for something a little different, and without the worry of the tank getting too hot. And then there's the new single coil nano, it never ends;)....................

Wow- Check out the newest OBS! The OBS V
OBS V Tank Unboxing,
UP TO AN ASTOUNDING 260W
COMES WITH 3 SPECIAL COILS
LARGE TOP SIDE FILLING HOLE
5.2ML TANK CAPACITY

Just what we need, another tank for over 250W use.

I can only imagine the replacement prices on those dodecacoil or however many wires those things contain. This ever higher wire count is getting silly. Never mind the "recommended" wattage.

over inflated numbers to attract people. i'm using the T12 coil on the TFV12. its rated 60-350 watts. i find it's a good vape at 130-160. 200 is too hot and 300+ forget about it LMAO if you want burnt cotton flavor i guess

LMAO it was a type. i fixed it. 350 watts is the printed limit on it. I wouldn't vape it personally. 130-160 is a nice range for the T12 coil. i'm vaping at 140 now with the hard preheat on a smok G320. my coil is 4 days old and still going strong. I usually only expect a week or 2 out of them. I got the RBA deck on order anyway too.

Still 350w - way to much for me! Can't imagine what 1 of these coils cost?

normal price. like 3-4 dollars each. thankfully it has a really nice triple coil postless RBA deck. I have that on order. I usually build to vape around 80-100 watts for dual coils and 50-60 for single coils

I have the OBS engine for about a week and im new to the rebuildable atomizers. The flavour and the cloud are very nice but since yesterday when I try to vape all the juice comes right into my mouth and im not talking about a drop or two but a big amount of it. can anybody enlighten me?

It's flooding for some reason. I would rewick & you don't have to have the wick tails too long but thick enough to cover the wick hole & just inserted a little.

The way I wick I NEVER get flooding. You need to wick it right. Do not put to much cotton in the wholes and do not let the wicks go to the bottom of the RTA. Also, If you are vaping good e-juice It has amazing flavor.

I feel your pain. It took me probably 10 times before I got the wicking right. Yes like you, I got serious spitback with it. Also had dry hits.

So I kept trying until I got it right. And now I love it! It's my go to travel tank. It just doesn't leak, seep or sweat.

Keep trying and you'll get it right. If you want I can post some pictures of how I wick it.

Check out this video:

I did it this way the 1st few times and then just learned to cut to the appropriate length, tuck, juice, and adjust. Never had any dry hits. Only time I had gurgling is when I overfilled the tank.

If someone asks me I'll tell you buy the Engine 25 mm. I got one in SS and it's my "to go" rta. It was flying, driving, jumping with me was abused inside me backpack on a daily basis. Until today no single problem not a drop of leakeage. Due it's idiot proof design you can't mess up. I even stuff the wicking holes (3mm ID) no bloody dry hit. Only thing I don't like is the top AF. Yoy can't disassemble it for cleaning. And if you leave it full open all the time it gets dirty with dust. Second subjective con is the insignia you have to align it between those "windows" to be readable but that's just esthetics.

The problem was that I needed to rewick :p No problems since then and it was my first try wicking on this atomizer but I did good :p
If you need pics can send you but there's nothing special just trim the wicks so they a bit protrude under the deck. Nice fluffy and do not overpack the holes.
