Heya Guys! Hope you all doing fiiiine!

So, ill get straight to the point.. i use an RDA (Clone TM squared, then Tsunami 24, then Fishbone and now the Druuuuugaaaa!) and ive heard throughout that the "pluspoints" of RDA's were Flavour, clouds, and it's "juice switching capapbilities"....

Howeverrrrr... over the past few months (i just started vaping a few months back myself), ive been watching a lotta reviews on youtube and it seems like its the RTA's and the RDTA's that getting good reviews on flavours instead of the RDA's. Like the Merlin Mini..the Mage GTA, etc etc...

Its strange, cause the Druga is relatively short..and its an RDA but it seemed to get a "meh" review on its flavours. Same with the Tsunami, the fishbone, the Reload, etc etc....

I want to get a flavour chasing dripper or an RDTA and now im confused.... will i only get insane flavour with an RTA?

Anywho, lemme know what you guys think.

I've always got better flavor from rdas compared to anything else.

I have a fishbone and the recoil (recoil is amazing)

Also have the griffin 25 and Merlin mini.

Out of those for flavor I'd say recoil>fishbone>griffin>Merlin

I don't have much experience with RDTAs. I've only had the limitless and I'd say the flavor from that was better than an RTA.

Cool cool. Thanks Mykreign!

Honestly, i have no experience with RDTAs or RTAS at all... I just started with the Cleito (lol) and then switched to the RDA's i mentioned.... My latest purchase was the Druga.... and honestly, the flavour seems better than my other RDA's and i've heard great things about the flavour on the recoil but, unfortunately, it is out of stock where i live and i cant get my hands on it.

Anywho... Peeeeace!

The Wotofo Serpent Mini RDTA is a very flavorful little atomizer.

Its strange, cause the Druga is relatively short..and its an RDA but it seemed to get a "meh" review on its flavours.

The Druga isn't short by any stretch of the imagination. Also, it's much too airy, and its chamber much too big to give off any kind of flavors without dumping tons of power through it. In fact, it's very "meh" in almost all aspects. Its only great feature is its posts, which make it a great RDA to experiment with wild builds easily. Other than that, it's a totally forgettable atomizer.

Wow... i wish i would have had this convo last week which is when i bought the Druga......I have the tsunami.. but that has worse flavour than the druga.

Well...i did read about the Serpent mini RDTA... but do you know any RDA's out there that are good for flavour? 24mm or 25 mm cause those are the only ones that seem to be available in my region...

Thanks buddy

I think RDA's used to be better flavor performers because of the short travel distance, esspecially when compared to what RTA's used to be like. I think some of the more modern mini RTA's are comparable if not better flavor than RDA's. I've always had a random assortment of RDA's and my RTA's, namely Billow Nano v2, Axiom, Goblin Mini v2&3, Conqueror Mini and Moradin 3ml blow them out of the water. Following the general concesses I thought I'd get a true flavor chasers' "dream" and bought a Hadaly RDA clone. I've put every flavor coil build into it that I can think of and finally settled on a fused clapton 2mm and it's flavor is now only equal to my mini RTA's.

I think the factors that influence flavor are distance the vapor travels and the density of the vapor created. The density is a product of two variables, the volume of the atty chamber and the coil(s) capacity to create vapor. While RDA's often have the first criteria nailed, short travel distance, the "atty chamber" is large. Of coarse RDA's are known for vaper volume, I think that is a product of airflow and is not the same as vapor density.

When the Goblin Mini v3 came out, I was surprised by how much less flavor it had compared to it's v2 brother. The major change? UD decided to improve on the tank's buildability. To do this they increased the atty chamber's diameter and installed velocity posts, thus had to increase it's height too. That's a recipe for a decline in flavor. Essentially all the pressure from consumers to make decks easier to build on, have driven manufacturers to migrate away from more flavorfull designs, that are inherently "hard" to build on.

When hunting for a new flavor RTA I look for a short overall height( vapor travel distance), dual coil(vapor volume) and a small atty chamber (vapor/air density). A good clue to atty chamber size is not having velocity posts, but Not every non-Velocity deck has been optimized. Often the manufacturers don't decrease the atty chamber's volume and thus have actually increased the chambers volume with the absence of hardware. The top of the chamber needs to hug the top of the posts/coils. Any atty that is hard rt build on, without shorting, is good! My favorite RTa for some time was the Axiom. It's short, uses only single hole posts and the chamber hugs the top of the coils. Then came along the Conqueor Mini with a postless deck!
Just my two cents as to why I think some of the new shorty RTA's are going to start consistantly killing it on flavor. Some of the new postless designs with air holes that wrap around the coil like the Kylin and Ammit are going to probably kill-it!

Hope this helps

For flavor I seem to get the best results with RDAs, the top of my list for flavor only are:
NaRda- single coil, restrictive lung hit
Hadalay- single coil direct lung or restrictive lung can take a bigger build Tha. The NaRda
Petri
Goon
Recoil
Kennedy

I don't use alot of rdtas since i prefer dripping but I use a bottom feed mod if I don't want to bring a juice bottle with that I use either a petri, NaRda or Hadalay. But, I've read alot of good.things about the flavor from the serpent rdta.

Well...i did read about the Serpent mini RDTA... but do you know any RDA's out there that are good for flavour?

Of all the RDAs I own, the best for flavor is the TYPhon RDA. In fact, it's the best all-around period, provided you're not strictly into cloud chasing. I can't say enough good things about that atomizer. It ain't cheap though... But someone told me there's a decent clone available.

Much cheaper and really quite good is the new Vandy Vape Pulse 22. It's a notch under the TYPhon for flavor unless you crank up the power though.

On a budget = The recoil has the best flavor. I have one, and it has awesome flavor. 60 - 65 $
Not on a budget = The kennedy rda. Out of the park flavor and clouds. Got one with some fused claptons and its hands down, the best rda ever! (being somewhat subjective of course) 100 $$

There are some really good tanks out there, but realistically, no, RDA's will always have better flavor than tanks. Tanks are convenient, but if you want flavor, a good RDA with a reduced chamber like the goon or recoil, will give you really great flavor.

As for clouds, depending on your build and ohms, an rda will out perform a tank, even the V12 Cloud Beast King.

If you want to save money and enjoy your expensive e-juice to the max, get an rda. If you want convenience, (don't like to drip) get a tank. Many people have both. I just use rda's. I have a kennedy 2 post roundhouse and a hexohm with a recoil. I love the taste and clouds they give off. Ejuice is expensive so I want to enjoy every nuance in it.

Whitebone no longer in list. Wicking issues? Flavor? Or others are simply better?

the IJOY Exo smashed every other RTA I've tried to be honest probably my favourite overall atty at the moment :)

WBM still great flavour atty worthy of 5th place I just prefer the utility of the pharoah dripper:)

I've always been a tank person to begin with. But the only tanks that i have kept because of the great flavour are the KF5, the Squape X, the Monster V3, the In'Sane, and the Reload.
The rest of my collection are drippers with the exception of 1 RDTA which is the VGOD RDTA

I have been out of the RTA and RDTA scene for quite a while now that I pretty much exclusively use tube Mech mods and always thought it was weird seeing someone running a tank on them, but I was just glancing around fasttech's website at new/different things I could pick up cheap to try and ran across the clone for Atom Vapes Revolver 2, and though it seemed a bit gimmicky, I could spare the $15 just to try it out. I am pretty blown away at just how well this little sucker performs...plenty of space for full sized builds on a velocity style deck, adjustable air flow from completely wide open for your typical RDA cloud performance down to a draw that's tighter than an analog with flavor that's above par for most of what I've used, a decent sized tank that doesn't leak and an easy access top-fill design that doesn't leave you with a mouthful of juice...all in an integrated RDTA system that is your basic copper tube Mech mod. I'd be impressed with this if it was just a regular rda that I had to drip with, so, the addition of the tank is just a very big cherry on top (so to speak).

Just don't chain vape on it until you have your cotton pretty well broke in, otherwise you might catch a bit of a cotton taste.

just get the hadaly and be done with it. started vaping 5-6 months ago... went through a ton of atomizers looking for flavor. in order of what i got due to good reviews of "flavor"

1. pharoah - meh

2. merlin mini... liked it with some juice but it was so so.

3. serpent alto - great with 50/50 juice... flavorless almost with 70/30 juice since wicks dont catch up with the builds i put in there.. tried with .8 ohm kanthal simple coils but i just didnt like it too that way

4. avocado 22 special edition.. meh also. i think the wicking holes are too small and wicks dont quite catch up to my style of vaping

5. serpent RDTA - really really nice. my main atomizer until i got the hadaly.

6. then i eventually got the hadaly... now i dont even want to use the rest. i run it with 28/36 fused n80 claptons 5 wraps and its a nice flavorful wet vape at 45 watts on a squonker.

7. got a hadaly clone since thats all i want to vape on now... authentic ones are out of stock locally (Manila)

just get the hadaly and be done with it.

I'm perpetually looking for 'bang for buck' flavor chasing solutions and thought the SXK Hadaly RDA ($10) was worth the risk. My favorite e-juices gunk coils (with cotton still white) after vaping 6 ml on average; so, I change coils often with standardized 0.6ohm 24ga 3mm ID KA1 wires that cost less than $0.01 to build.

MTL seems impossible on the SXK Hadaly RDA; at best, this is a restrictive DL atty. Impressions: lots of clouds (relative to 22mm RTAs) and flavor was HOT, too HOT ... literally ... even at 12W-16W ... even with my longest wide bore delrin drip tip. Worse, it was burning juice up to 800% faster. If an average Northa American vaper uses 5ml a day, this would use 40ml a day ... 1200ml a month ... $600/ month average on retail juice ... 'analogs' are looking waay cheaper (even if you DIY).

I suppose for DL Squonkers that like 'hot' vapes, the Hadaly is the 'Holy Grail'. As an MTL, flavor chaser that likes cool vapes (literally) I'll stick to my Serpent Mini, Merlin Mini or Oumier WhiteBone Mini. JMHO
