HIC's LEMON MERINGUE PIE

Couldn't resist watching the bottle staring at me. HAD to vape and taste.
Well, i get the meringue and the cream now. Before was basically crust and lemon only and in the background.
Definetly happy considering it had almost no steeping time.

The real problem is that my past 4 month of mixing knowledge seems totally irrelevant now, i was REALLY scared by the % i was using.
Back to the drawing board i guess...

So does it mean you like it with 50% increase in flavor? Can you taste everything now? The meringue, cream, crust & lemon?

It's definetly better, but not as good as i want it to be: i can definetly start to taste almost everything i mixed this time wich is a big plus but not fully convinced yet.
Steeping for about 24/48 hrs really helped my first batch so i'm looking forward to taste it. Will let you know literally while vaping the next sample :)

I'm used to fairly simple recipes using really simple combinations, that ain't helping probably. But i'm afraid using SO much flavoring might cause more harm then good. Am i wrong ?
That being said i just started making a bit more complex recipes, i'm used to standalone or simple mixes so i guess i have to find my balance... that's both the fun and the frustrating part of making your own juices i guess.

I'm going to try mixing it with 25% increase maybe 50% is too high? I've been mixing it with the optional Fa Vienna Cream. I did mix it without but can't remember as it was like 1 1/2 years ago.

For the longest time I've mixed at the recommended 10% with the Fa Vienna Cream included & I loved it, but lately my tastebuds are requiring more? Strange everyone's taste buds are getting more refined after cigarettes & my tastebuds are broken lol, or am I just craving a stronger flavor?

I mixed a few batches with 1% extra Fa Meringue & I like it but maybe I'm changing the recipe by doing that.

I'll let you know too how a 25% increase taste to me.

You're not the only one. I've been slowly increasing on various recipes and flavors over the past two months. I see it as more of a refinement of knowing what I want, and wanting more of it.

I know when I first started mixing, I was trying recipes as written. Many of them I had to add more flavoring. Eventually, I just stopped doing that and my taste buds adjusted. Not sure if that's because I was further away from my last cigarette, or if I just got used to it. These days, I'm having to reduce flavoring on several recipes.

So, not knowing when you had your last cigarette, it's possible that you're still healing up. Otherwise, never mind me :D

I'm finding it's for certain flavors such as cinnamon. Maybe I'm just blasting too much of it and getting desensitized. There are other flavors that I've found were way too strong even at low %s, such as tiramisu or espresso. I'm hungry, I want a cinnamon roll! :)

Thanks for sharing this recipe,i've tried a few other lmp recipes and they were close, but not spot on,so going by the comments on this,i think this may be the one i've been looking for.
I ordered the flavors i was missing, and got them in the other day,so i sat down yesterday to make a bottle up,only to find out that the meringue i know i ordered like 6 months ago,was never ordered haha.I thought i had it,so when i ordered the others i left that one off.I thought about trying it with the marshmallow substitute that has been mentioned, but i am a firm believer in trying it as posted first,so i ordered the meringue today, and will be able to finally try this out this weekend, can't wait,i'm craving a good lemon meringue pie.

Small update after a bit of steeping: WOW.
Sweet to the right point, the meringue is simply fantastic. Wasn't a fan when smelling it the first time but i have to say that's fantastic in this mix.
The lemon is SO smooth even considering the sheer quantity i used, have to try the version without the vienna cream to sww the different results.

SO happy of this batch. Thanks for your help guys and thank you HIC for your recipe.
You made an italian vaper happy today !

So you like the 50% increase after a few days? When I tried the 25% increase right after mixing it was stronger but missing the original taste, oh yeah mine has sat for a few days too. I'll try it again now.

Ok I mixed up a new batch of LMP at the original percentage & let it sit for a few days & it's plenty flavourfull. I think what led me to think it wasn't is I had made a big batch and it was steeping for quite a while, peeps say that Fa Lemon Sicily fades over time. That's probably why I thought it was missing some oomph. So conclusion its good as a shake and vape don't make too much at once. Just whatever you can use up in a few weeks.

I still like it more after 24/48hrs steeping (at most). Not a fan of the shake and vape version.
Pretty sure i like the +50% version more too, but that's down to personal tastes i guess.

Totally agree about the FA Lemon fading tho, after a week only the last tanks were tasting WAY different (not really bad, just different). All the lemon notes, even with my doses, were almost gone.
Definetly gonna update my excel file with a huge reminder of mixing only small batches

Has anybody tried replacing the FA lime cold pressed with FA florida key lime. Thought it might be good as it doesnt fade as much.

In my opinion, FA Florida Key Lime is a more distinctive flavor than Cold-Pressed -- more likely to be recognized as not-lemon. That's why I'd stick with Cold-Pressed in this recipe. If you don't mind tasting a little lime zest with your sweet lemon, then Florida Key Lime would work fine.

I like this a lot (went through about 120ml) but there was a bit of rind taste that I didn't care for so this batch I added 0.5% Vienna Cream and it smoothed it right out now it's moved to the "love it" category.

Just tried this after a six week steep, I personally like well steeped juice as it gives all the flavours time to meld together, anyway this is a very good Leon meringue and it's in the top ones online imo, the Daz Cole lemon tart is another good one, I would say this and that are the top two online right now.

The only issue with long lemon Sicily steeps is it fades. This one is great right after making.

Super long thread here lol. I MUST get in on the action. Such a great looking recipe. I dont have FA-Apple Pie or cold pressed Lime. I have other crust/graham flavors but no lime flavors. The closest I have is CAP-Lemon/Lime. I really want to sub them two but I'll have to wait till next order...unlllless I'm given a green light by the man himself. Thank you @HeadInClouds for all of your efforts and generosity.

I'm sure we could work around your lack of a lime flavor, but that tiny bit of Apple Pie is really a key ingredient, in my opinion.

Well after many many failures im following others advice and going to try this and order all the FA needed for this mix
i normaly use CAP TPA AND FW and after 30+ recipe failures i have decided to switch to the dark side, and go with
FA and FLV i cant afford to keep trying to make things with TPA CAP and FW and they never work there always missing
some thing or have some weird after taste, i feel i have wasted £100 easy on concentrates and not got one vapable
liquid even the simplest of recipes i have tries did not taste any thing like they where supposed too..

Will i ever use TPA and CAP again or should i just sell them concentrates onto some one else or keep them in case a
recipe needs one of them i have around 50 TPA CAP and FW concentrates..

Is FA custard premium ok to use in this please ??Or not im worried people are saying use FLV
flavourings as there better but every one is saying try this recipe im willing to put the £ in if
its nice..And most of them flavours are used for other recipes.

Cant find any FA Lime Cold-Pressed :( it cost around £20 + to make this if you dont have all
the ingredients. which is only 2 bottle of dinner lady lemon tart

I would keep the TFA, Cap & FW & keep them in the fridge. That’s what I did before I found HIC then I proceeded to collect most of FA flavors. But the TFA, Cap, etc. has come in handy. I do find recipes now that uses them in combination with FA & other companies.

I don’t know what to do with the FA Lime Cold Pressed. Does chefsflavours.com.uk have it?

Thank you so much i always feel there is the main part of the vape missing, i strongly believe FA and FLV would possibly
provide the main part of the vape..I will grab the ingredients for this recipe from chefs flavours thank you.

Very sorry for the double post im ordering these ingredients tonight as its time to stock up on FA and FLV ok first off unfortunately
FA cookie is out of stock im going to use TFA lime to bring the cost down just for now. I have a choice of (FA custard premium) or

notes to it but which one is it premium or pi ?Please i don't want to wreak this recipe and i know i may have to wait for the
FA cookie if i cant get the FA cookie am i best waiting before mixing this up ?? I dont want too wreak such a nice looking recipe.

I would wait until you can get the FA Cookie. And I think Hic’s recipe uses FA Custard? It’s not Custard Premium or Custard Pi.

Unless you don't care, you have to pay attention to the flavor descriptions in the FA website.
Custard Premium contains diacetyl etc. and it explicitly says not for vaping. Remember that FA makes flavors for cooking too.

If you can’t get regular FA Custard(has lemon notes), I would get Custard Pi. It also has lemon notes.....Premium(the best custard in the known universe) does not.

Also, on Chefs, Flavour Creative is rebottled FA. They might have regular Custard there. Check for the Cookie, as well. Otherwise, I would wait until it gets back in stock.

Yes Flavour Creative is what Chefs named the rebottled FA. And good luck with making only one order. That’s what we all say then we forget or want something else. The rabbit hole is deep lol!

Yup. Flavour Creative is FA. And I checked last night.....they’re both in stock. I didn’t check the lime. The clone is still in the works.....the recipe I posted isn’t there yet, but I have more flavors coming. Maybe I can get closer with them!

Hic you my friend are an absolute legend / genius i only steeped this for 2 days and followed every thing to the exact amount
and was thinking that the percentages where too low..Wow Wow Wow this stuff is absolutely amazing delicious i cannot wait
to learn more form the community here like you and other mixers you guys are amazing, but Hic you done a crazy good
job on this..

This has not only give me confidence but you have saved my lots of money in the long run, the mouth feel is perfect the
lemon is perfect the layering is perfect, if you have not mixed this yet and you like LMP go mix it at the percentages that
hic has posted..Im waiting to see if it sweetness up as i love sweet juices, just my personal preference, i will be playing
with this along with the almond tart recipe for some time..

What i would like is a little more of a buttery pastry just for my own preference as i love buttery pastry so will be playing
with the base a little. But you guys here rock.

I'm going off topic for a little bit. :)
---------------------------------------------
If you cant taste it at them percentages make sure your taste buds are ok and your device is good do
some research on making decent coils,

Im only using a 6 wrap duel clapton 22g / 36g SS316L at around 32.7w i know nothing about making coils but learning
from others, i can not make my own coils saving me even more money, i can taste these recipes perfectly at very low
percentages now..

I used to just do a single wrap coil with bacon bits now its duel clapton with fuzz cotton and its perfect. So before bumping
up the percentages check your setup, make sure your not smoking and your taste buds are getting back to normal i believe
smoking has a massive impact on your taste buds..

But once again thank you HIC you are a star..
