Vaping & Weight ?

So first of all I am a skinny person.
I remember a couple of years ago I quit smoking without any other helping devices or any other nicotine product. I gain weight really fast. Also eating more often. So ended up with smoking those cigarettes again after 4 months....so stupid.

Today it's 1 week since I quit and start vaping. Reason is for my health and maybe gain weight again.

Do you guys gain weight since vaping ?

Some people says avoid sweet ejuices....for you weight otherwise you will loose weight......is that right ?

Since I'm vaping I don't eat more often or gain weights....I know it has only been 1 week ...maybe it's to early :)

But one thing is for sure....I breath much better, sleep better and have more energy. So that's good.

Did you guys gain weight since vaping ?

I have lost 9 kg, almost 20 lbs, since I started vaping in Oct.. I'm 6'1 and 165 lbs now. I've never been much of an eater, but it's less now. I know it's from the nicotine. The interesting part, as I see it, is I vape at 5mg during the day, then after 5pm I use 1mg. I do chain vape at night, but not during the day. I don't think it's a huge amount of nicotine, but it's effecting my appetite. It doesn't concern me though, but my wife says I'm too thin.

When I first started vaping I did not gain weight.

But I did have a female friend that reported that she was getting her "Desert Fix" from vaping sweet flavors and was losing weight.

But then she gave up vaping her sweets because she thought the weight she was losing was all coming from her "Boobages"

I lost weight with Vaping. Since quitting smoking I regularly exercise. So much easier now that I'm not Wheezing and coughing. I run 10k (6 miles) 3x a week. Bike 50k (31 miles) 3x a week.
Weight wise I've gone from 220 to 180.

Sent from somewhere in Vietnam.

I don't think vaping sweet flavors will affect your weight one way or another

I gained wait when I quit smoking for vaping, but I could actually taste food again for the first time since I was a kid, lol

It's coming off now though

I lost weight at first, but I had been on a diet for a couple months and the process had already started. Sad to say, after I got my sense of smell and a lot of my sense of taste back, I gained most of it back, but happily, not all; I';m still about 10 lbs lighter than I was when I first started vaping. I'd like to be another 10 lbs lighter... but dammit, everything tastes so good now, it seems to be a losing battle. :giggle:

But I was watching Daniels video from the vape convention in Detroit. My god all the vape reviewers there were fat.

Americans are fat, vaping or not.

I dropped over 120 lbs of weight a few years ago, when I still smoked. When I switched to vaping - which happened overnight for me - my weight didnt change by a single ounce, without my having to diet anymore than usual. For me, it was just a matter of getting enough nic to avoid munching on junk food to compensate.

When I quit smoking and started vaping, I was around the 270 mark.

And at the time I kinda thought that since I was cleaning up my act by vaping instead of smoking, I would take the next step and get some exercise (walking in the local park) and watching what I ate.

It's been a long process but finally down to 207lbs and want to end up at 190.

First off I have had the same waist size since high school and people hate me for never gaining weight!

Over the years when I quit smoking I put on a few pounds because I was eating when I wanted a smoke. Since vaping I might have gotten a little belly fat but I attribute that to a less strenuous lifestyle and nothing a little exercise would not fix. If it wasn't due to a bad car accident I might not have stopped mountain biking 20 Miles every weekend.

How does smoking/vaping make you lose weight? People have been known to gain weight when quitting because they replace one oral fixation with another.

I lost about 20 lbs when I switched to vaping almost 3 years ago.
And have not put it back on.
Sweet vapes caused me to eat less Little Debbie cakes and such junk.

According to the AMA, I believe, 1/3 of quitters gain weight, 1/3 lose and 1/3 stay the same. That makes sense.

The key is to change your food consumption through vaping. For me it happened subconciously with different liquids (salty, sweet aso.)

I lost weight at first because instead of snacking compulsively thru TV shows just to make it to the next commercial to be able to run out and smoke, I could just sit there and vape. But foods taste so much better now, it gradually equalized, and I weigh more or less the same now as when I first quit smoking. Of course, when you're past 50, it's very hard to make a change in your usual weight; even if you "diet," once you stop, you just gain it back. So I'm still in the "I could stand to lose 10 lbs" club.

I'm a thin person too so don't feel bad. I'm 6'3" @ 160lbs. Everyone always told me, "You're going to gain weight when you go to college," "You're going to gain weight when you get a desk job," "You're going to gain weight when you stop smoking." I still weigh the same i did in high school.:giggle:

My sister lost a lot of weight when she started vaping. She used to eat a lot of sweets and now she vapes instead.

When I was 25 I weighed 180 so we're both beating the odds. I started swimming 3 months ago after not doing it for 20 years and I've put on 5 lbs of muscle. The breathing is tough. I've done a lot of damage to my lungs that'll never heal. I quit 14 months ago and I'm slowly gaining on my lung capacity but it's hard. I just remind myself it's better late than never.

I was always very thin and athletic till the day I got very sick, that was in 2011 by the time I finally overcame my sickness late 2016 I gained also over 200 lb. I wouldn't go out, and was very uncomfortable as well as unhappy with myself. January 2017 I decided I have to make changes, I changed my whole diet and exercise. By august I lost around 125lb, but I was still smoking while vaping, I then decided I stop smoking too. This would have caused a huge disaster in the past, now you're not only trying to battle the diet demon, no you also aiming for the non smoking one.

Thanks to vaping I could stop my craving for both, sweets and cigarettes, now I've lost 195 lb so far and it was the best decision I've ever made. Even my doctors agree, however I don't have the sweet cravings anymore, I vape flavors mostly because I'm enjoying them very much, or can't eat due to an allergy. Example almond cookies lol. So I would say this, vaping can help with weight loss but only if you change your whole life style. If you're still eating 4 burgers a day but vape some cupcake, to make yourself feel better, well that's not going to work. But vaping can help as substitute for cravings someone might have, especially after a long day at work or a good work out.

Never heard of ppl gaining weight from vaping lol

I know many have commented already, but here's my quick story.

I never gained weight any time I quite smoking, but I was a fatty for a long time any ways. I have currently lost over a 100lbs - diet and working out 5 days a week for the last almost 2 years. Never felt better.

I have been vaping for 7 years, I don't see any connection between vaping and weigh gain.

Every body is unique. And weight gain can be caused by many factors, so I guess it is always possible but I have never heard any one claim they gained weight from vaping specifically.

Probably it depends on ur body. I am still the same and have friend who actually gained weight, but not sure if because of vaping or because he got so lazy:facepalm:

I don't think vaping in and of itself affects your weight in any way. I think what happens is when people vape sweet flavors, etc., it can curb their cravings for those actual sweet foods, such as pies, cookies, or whatever other flavor your vaping. On the other hand, it might make you crave those food items, and you'll go seek them out to eat/drink. Weight gain/loss is mainly based on how you eat and live your daily life, so whereas vaping does not cause a change in weight, it can change other habits in your life that does affect weight.
