Oumier White Bone Mini

I bought this single coil tank on Black Friday from fasttech.com for $15. The tank comes in a stubby tube and is extremely well packaged. Included in the package are, Clapton coils, cotton, Allen key, o rings, spare tank glass, spare chimney glass, spare drip tip glass, a small instructional pamphlet. First impression of this tank is it screams quality. Extremely well machined, with buttery smooth threading. This tank has a lot more glass than most tanks its size and I think it really adds to the look of quality that it exudes. This tank is 22mm wide, 45mm high with the DT 35mm without, constructed of 304SS and available in Black and SS.

As usual let's start at the top of the tank and work our way down. The drip tip on this tank is unique and absolutely fantastic. It breaks down into three pieces. The top cap, glass, and cut out base. When I first saw this DT I was taken back a little. It looked weird and uncomfortable but boy was I wrong. The DT has a glass interior that acts as an insulator. It also has two little cutouts on the sides that look like little windows. I don't know how to explain it but the DT just feels fantastic while you're vaping. The cutouts which I thought would be really uncomfortable actually add some nice texture to the feel of the DT. The DT does a great job of staying cool while chain vaping. Fantastic and unique is all I can say to describe it. I really wish this style was available in the aftermarket because it just works fabulously.

The top cap does not have any knurling but to be honest its really not needed. The threading on the cap is so smooth and well done that knurling is just not necessary. The cap screws into the chimney and it also has a thin o ring. The fill ports are a decent size but it may not accommodate all types of bottles for filling. Unicorns are fine but blunt nose tips and droppers may get a little messy if you're not careful.

The chimney is not narrow but it's not wide either. For the type of airflow I like its just right. The chamber looks like a super sized version of the DT and really is not conical in design at all. It's made out of SS with cut outs that look like windows to your coil. While this glass chamber gives the tank a unique look it's really unnecessary and not very practical because you really can't get a good look at your coil the way you can on a tank like the Augvape Alleria.

07d2eb41a264392d373109527b3e8da4.jpg

The deck on this tank is where this thing shines. It’s a single coil, gold plated positive post deck. The deck is very reminiscent of the Serpent Mini . You can fit a nice beefy coil in here. The grub screws seem to be of high quality as well. The wells that you tuck your cotton into are wide and deep for a tank of this size. The cotton is fed juice thru the bottom of the deck. The AFC is the best I've seen on a tank of this size. Smooth and easy to adjust. The base also has a very inconspicuous JFC that you have to look closely to find but once found it works very well.

be2f9c1649f5184d6ac9a0dc6fabf8fe.jpg

Building an wicking this tank is just a dream. Super easy and very forgiving. A single Clapton or Alien does real well in a tank like this. Right now I'm running a SS Clapton ohming out at .6 at 38 watts and 500f in TC. I have wicked this thing about five times now and I have yet to have a leak or dry hit. When you switch flavors in a tank like this the flavor change is almost instant. One pull and your on to the new flavor.

But Deuces, how does she vape?

This is really not a MTL tank. Yeah with some effort you can get a MTL vape out of it if you shut the AFC almost completely down. This tank vapes like a Serpent Mini but better. The airflow is a tad tighter than the Serpent Mini when fully open and the flavor is noticeably better. This tank is for the vaper that wants a restricted lung hit. Airflow is smooth with no whistling and the flavor is just on point. It does not get hot while chain vaping like a lot of comparable tanks of its size. For the price point you'd be hard pressed to find a better built single coil flavor tank.

As some of you may know I have been on a single coil (one lunger) tank kick for some time now. I have quite a few single coil tanks and I am also waiting on a few to be delivered. That being said, right now, today, this is my favorite one lunger. The flavor is just the best I have ever gotten out of a single coil tank up until now. It's like a higher quality Serpent Mini, with better machining and JFC. Funny thing is no one has reviewed this tank and I can't figure out why. From the DT, to the construction, to the way it vapes this tank is just phenomenal. I'm actually sorry that I only bought one. This tank is without a doubt DeucesJack approved. If you liked this review and found it helpful feel free to give it a like and to give me a follow.

PROS:

- Construction
- Drip tip
- Machining
- Flavor
- Value
- Deck
- Ease of use

CONS:

- Can't really see my coil thru the glass
- Tank breaks down into a lot of pieces
- JFC could be marked more clearly
Capacity

***NOTE: These are extremely nit picky cons and would not effect my decision to purchase another.

Thanks for the review. I love the flavor and draw of my 4 Merlin tanks but am tired of going through a pack of napkins because of the seeping / leaking .How would you compare the draw to the Merlin ?
Thanks @RatRacer.

@jb58. That's a tough one, since both the Merlin and Merlin Mini have several different airflow options with the included restrictor pins. It's a hair tighter than both Merlins if you have no pin in them. No napkins here at all. I've run through 20 or so tanks and not a drop of leakage.

Thx for the review, I'll probably pass on this atty due to the even more restrictive AF than the serpent...that was the one flaw of the Serpent I had the most issue with.

I have the Ijoy Exo RTA in route, hoping that atty proves worth while.

Definitely let us know how you like that Ijoy Exo. Yeah wide open it's ever so slightly more restrictive but smoother as well. The AFC opening on the WB is wider so it has a longer range of adjustment on it.

Glass or any material has other properties than transparency. For instance hardness and conductance. Glass is an insulator which likely contributes to the fact that the tank does not heat up as quickly as others. Although I couldn't be certain that they use glass in a chamber for the other properties it possesses rather than the gimmick of it being see through....I like to think they do :D

I especially appreciate you're comment on the viability of MTL in you're review of this tank, most reviewers leave that part out of their reviews, like we all just Lung Hit ALL the time. I mostly like tight MTL, but will open up my Lemo to do DL on occasion, so I will do both. The only thing tripping me up on getting this tank is the 2.5ml capacity, I like 5ml+ personally. Thanks for the Great review DJ, first one of yours I've read. :)

Np bro, thanks for the kind words. I should be dropping my Cthulhu MTL review soon. They said they were sending me one. So as soon as I get it I'll spend some time with it and write it up.

That will be an interesting review to see, as I have the Cthulhu V2 and it is a real Flavor RTA.

I just got mine in and I like it so far..I went with a single core 32 over 26 Clapton with 7 wraps and it ohmed up at 1.006 using a 3mm id wrap...30 watts is giving a nice flavor and surprising cloud production..Clamping the wire gave zero problems and its pretty much the fastest ive ever been able to install a coil...You could fit a surprisingly big coil on this deck..I may try a fused Clapton next with a 3.5mm id...The see through glass to the build deck is pretty cool before you start vaping off it..Once you build up moisture, seeing whats inside is pretty much not going to happen...Overall im liking it..The flavor is there..the vapor is very acceptable...The only con is I finished off the 2ml of juice it holds in about 10 minutes..certainly not the grab and go tank for being on the run unless you bring juice with you..Filling was easy enough using a dropper bottle for me..Thanks for the review as it was pretty much dead on.

ill definitely try a different build on it...For the $18.00 I paid I think its great so far....Now to wait for the rest of the single coil RTA's I ordered to come in and compare to lol...Im liking the air flow also on this one...I figured at 30 watts I was gonna burn the cotton at 5 volts plus to the coil but it was surprising mildly warm...I can see a lower ohm and a little more power working out great...certainly enough air flow for more in it..Thanks again.

@Deucesjack are you gonna add a wicking guide for this one mate? Preferred coil type? Also how high do you place the coil above air hole?

I can the next time I wick her up. I place the coil a hair above the air hole. I usually run a 2.5mm Clapton or Tiger Wire coil. Right now I'm running a 2.5mm Tiger Wire coil at .42 at 32 watts in power mode and the vape quality is just marvelous. If I do run a 3mm I thin out the wicks because it's just too much cotton. With a 2.5mn I don't have that issue. I also feel like I get a better vape with the 2.5mm coils.

Thanks buddy yeah I've overwicked this again! Getting burnt taste already shouldn't be the case before that happened the flavour was epic!

Awesome I was placing coil much higher over air hole I'll try your approach instead

Sigh at my "wicks end" just can get the bloody thing to wick consistently...changed the coil put a fused clapton in sitting about 0.22ohms but wicking is a nightmare for me on this and I don't know why ...I placed the coil lower, although admittedly higher than a hair above the airhole, but defiantly lower than before
Tried rewicking 4 times today bloody thing ends up dry hits or burnt taste...Ok I'm chain vaping a little but only at 30-32W any less and it's not a satisfying vape at all, tried temp control at about 460F which is a little better but same thing still happens ...tried muji using Scottish roll method and normal method, tried cotton bacon as well... im cutting at the edge of the tank (although did try shorter at the edge of the base in one of these)

See thing is when it's juiced flavour is outstanding :( I know wicking is my error and not the tank and hate that I can't get this right ....gonna have to put this tank to one side until I can find a decent guide I think

Hard to tell from that angle because I can't see the cup. One thing I do on most of my tanks is a shape the cotton to a point. I find it greatly improves wicking. Also, are you sure you have the jfc turned to the left?

Yeah JFC is open... hold on couple more pics (BTW anyone thinking of getting an HPriv yeah the screen fogs up...!)

Wick is definitely too long. Cut it so the point of the cotton barely touches the bottom of the cup. Trim the sides of the wick so it looks like a point that tapers up.

More like this?

loks ok. I think your bad flavor is from your coils. they look gunked up and need to be cleaned. I think it's getting flooded plus mixed with your juice possibly (if it's really sweet) are gunking your coils. 30 watts isn't enough to power that coil. I think your real issue is flooding not dry hits TBH. I'd suggest cleaning those coils off 1st (or putting new ones in) and trying it again at about 50-60 watts

i think you're flooding them. do you get a lot of popping when vaping? That is a hefty coil, it needs more then 30 watts IMO. Try it at 50-60

I like you @KingPin! So just for you I pulled out a perfectly good wick and rewicked.

Here's my coil. Apparently I run it higher than I initially thought. I may have got it confused with my Cthulhu MTL.

Then with a set of tweezers I gently place the cotton in the wicking holes. I do not stuff it. It should look like this.

The coil in the pic ohms out at .493 I usually vape it at 32 watts in power mode.

Coil at 0.25ohm now after I re-pressed them after cleaning

Deuces your a legend mate! Thanks so much woohoo 5 re wicks on the same tank in a day that's got to be a record!

Settled on 51w chain vaped 2ml just to push it wicked the whole lot fine had to close the juice control slightly in fact! Flavour was outstanding

Found I couldnt hold fire bar for too long though over cooks the juice 1.5 seconds max if I do this don't get a burnt taste just a really smooth flavoursome vape with plenty of cloud (not that I'm aiming for the latter) ...think I'll put in a less beefy coil next time and vape at lower wattage at this wattage I can watch the juice going down literally lol ideally I need to be aiming for about 0.5ohm simple clapton should do it ...had this one left over when I was making fused claptons for the boreas

Knock her down to between 40 and 45 watts. Probably somewhere in that range you'll find a sweet spot. Remember it's a single coil. I normally run my one lunger tanks at a little less than half of the wattage I would run on dual coils.

Yep 41w better longer vapes now ...I can't put this tank down I keep looking at the boreas thinking yeah your turn next but enjoying it to much ...it's just easy, refilling, juice control, flavour (now I know how to wick it!) ....

Few things I'm not sure of

Can't decide whether I like the drip tip ...can't imagine many will remove the glass in it so it's more for aesthetic purposes

Grub screws on the deck aren't all that great thankfully there are spares gonna need them (hate Allen key screws)

Also would like it if there was a mark on the tank so when you turn it, it aligns with the bottom pics to indicate whether juice control is open or not sometimes forget stupid as that is

Everything else though is really good on this tank

Right Pindad next!

thanks @Deucesjack for the great review, I just ordered this White Bone Mini, which I do not know existed until today.

You won't be disappointed mate using this tank at work today love it ;)

I love being able to see my coil and wick the whole time it allows you to see if everything is ticking over ok before you get any sort of problem

Looking at it better is also a really nice looking RTA.
I'm a Single Coil user, have Merlins, Serpent Mini, Ammit, Bachelor and a Aeronaut RDA, missed really a leak free tank for office use,
seems I found it.
The thing is surprising me is that it's underestimated and not advertised anywhere, very few reviews on youtube also ...
Glad I found it here!

Never had leaking once on this tank including during refilling it's really solid so you want have a problem there especially with Deuces technique above on wicking it properly ...overwicking is a problem though so watch out for that

This really is one of the best looking tanks period and agree I don't understand why there's not more reviews out there never heard of it until Deuces and Mike H mentioned it in another thread
