I'm currently vaping the Limitless XL w/ the dual coil build deck at about 125 watts with dual regular claptons that I spun myself, single core 23 ga SS wrapped with 32 ga nichrome, 7 wraps at 3.5 mm. 0.180 ohms. I like it a lot but not love it exactly. But that's my everyday piece that I bring with me to work and all. At home I use the Limitless RDTA Plus, which I LOVE but just can't have it on me all day while I'm working. Dual coil staple staggered fused beauties, from my buddy at the vape shop. Weighing in at about .24 ohms. So 2 questions... well the first one isn't much of a question, I'm noticing that slightly higher resistance gives me less of a ramp time? Definitely the .24 setup warms up much faster than my .06 parallel build.. make sense? Because I read otherwise more than once..

Anyway the real reason for my post is I'm wondering if maybe I should switch to a single coil setup. Any suggestions? What are the benefits? And what is a nice build to go with? Idk where to start really.. looking for a point in the right direction from some savage single coil vapers. Thanks in advance.

This is my first time writing on a message board ever. So sorry if I sound like a nerd. Lol

With the 0.06 taking longer to ramp up I'd say battery sag due to battery can't handle it. Not enough information and key info missing like, what batteries and what mod

All different brand 18650, 3.7 v, 2500-3000 mAh.. Got a laisimo L1, alien, fuchai. Doesn't seem to differ, takes a whole second to warm up on the first pull, and warms up slower at lower resistances.. .2 seems to be perfect.

I know I need to get a mech for this shit, was considering one of these new 4 battery boxes but idk, they only read down to .1 usually. Only the L1 goes down to .05. Prob go with this switch mod solid copper at the vape store, don't really wanna buy that online..

Is a nice fat single coil around .3 gonna make enough fog though? I'm hearing different things

No you don't need a Mech for this shit, 0.05 on a Mech is "stupid low". Unless you're very experienced with building, Mech's, Ohm's Law and batteries you're more than likely going to blow your face off.

What you describe is most likely battery sag from cheap and/or tired batteries.

Yeah I understand all that, and batteries are brand new.

What I was asking for is suggestions for a single coil build. Thanks

Batteries being new doesn't mean they're good, are they eFest, MXJO, Imreen rewraps or decent Sony, Samsung or LG?

Suggestion for a single coil, it all depends on what you put them in. In my addy's that are single coil I usually build around 0.3 - 0.5 ohms and again it depends on what I'm putting it in. If you want to put it in the Limitless I'd start out with a 0.25.

All sorts of wrong here. r055co covered most of it but still

1) don't put a .06 ohm build on a mech. seriously
2) it doesn't heat up fast because it's too much wire and too low resistance for your mod. I'd bet that your mod can't output more then 54 watts at that resistance regardless what the screen says it's doing
3) don't use crap unmarried batteries. order some good one like some sony VTC5a. and marry them. use them in pairs together only with each other
4) if you want to fire down to stupid ohms like that get a hohmwrecker G2. its a great mod, get one anyway. it'll outperform what you have and do better temp control

I need to further stress the point about this sounding like Battery Sag. With it having longer ramp up time at 0.06 ohm build than a 0.30 ohm tells me it's Battery Sag and Battery Sag in a very bad way. When they sag at this low of a build the batteries are way over taxed and continuing to try to fire them when they are this stressed are signs they're going to blow, seriously.

Thus the reason asking for specifics of the batteries.

But since I'm not getting them just very vague and generic responses I'm washing my hands, I'm not going waste anymore time trying to drag out the basics ...........

best single coil I have is a dual coil :) I use alot of single coil devices, and the best for me is the Supreme with the single coil adapter....very nice vape with 1.2ohm coils :)

He's using it in a regulated device!

So why are you freaking out? Most mods can run .05 build in tc. He never said anything about wanting to put his .06 build on a mech.

This is complete bullshit. His .06 build probably has 2 or 3 times the mass and running it at the same wattage as the .2 build on his REGULATED MOD!

If you bothered to read his post he stated that maybe he needed a Mech. That and battery sag from cheap and or tired batteries also have a major factor.

I suggest that you read the post before commenting.

my favorite single coil build is a "boneyard" coil, made with 26 or 24 gauge wire (I use 24 gauge 304ss usually).

(not my pic, but it illustrates why it is called a boneyard). loosely twist two strands of wire, then hammer flat. When you wrap the coil, it will either look like the pic above, or come out more squared off...this will depend on a combination of I.D. of the coil, and how loose/tight the initial twist was.

Yes he did but he isn't using a mech. He was wondering why his .2 build had less ramp up time than his .06 on his regulated mod. You just saw mech and started freaking out.

If you weren't such a know it all, arrogant assclown you'd probably get a response.

If you actually read and comprehended my post you'd have a clue. I addressed the Mech question then addressed the possibility of battery sag.

I suggest you read what I posted there Slick.

You know the old saying "better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt".

His response is one of the best I have seen from other people. Usually they go "don't ever go below .xx that's stupid" and leave it at that or they go into more detail about how stupid it is to go below said resistance.

How can you not be a know it all answering a question or asking particulars about his setup. And since he wasn't getting any firm answers he didn't want to take responsibility for his face being blown off because he put a .06 on a mech mod with 10 amp batteries. Or worse with Chinese nock off batteries. So he "washed his hands of it"

Shouldn't have to pry basic information out of someone asking for help.

Looks like the crankshaft in my rice grinder..

Few that was better than reality TV not that I like reality TV but reading that was just awkward tense but fun to read for some reason.

I've been vaping dual coil for over a year and a half, I recently bought the Tauren one rta and I love it! If all single coils are this good or better I am going single coil forever!

Just when you think you’ve seen it all...that’s probably my favorite coil I’ve seen and I’d like to try one someday just for shits and giggles. I only vape single coils because they can produce the flavor/vapor I like and no fancier than a twisted. Sometimes when I’m feeling really crazy I twist two different gauges of wire, that’s the extent of my exotic coil making.Dual coil setups are ok and so are exotic coils but those aren’t really necessary with the rebuildables I use. If your rebuildable is made for single coils, being the right size and the airflow right, they will perform best with just a single. I’m a simple man with simple needs: flavor,’throat hit, nicotine and decent cloud, just because without I won’t get the first three requirements.
And since I stole your picture that you stole from someone else I’ll give you one to steal.
Here ya go:) this is also stolen
