How will the new FDA crap affect diy-ers?

I make and mix my own fluids. How will the FDA regulations affect me on getting my materials? The nicotine, the PG, the VG, all the individual flavor concentrates. I understand all new hardware from August 8th and onward will have to jump through all the stupid hoops to be able to be available on the market and will probably be stupid expensive because of the regulations, but i'm wondering about my juice diy stuff? How will it affect me getting kanthal and everything else? I'm seeing this, that, and the other thing on it, but nothing that really makes sense to me. Call me an idiot, but I don't understand political jargon to save my life. I know this is going to be a huge shit down the throats of ecig users, stores, and manufacturers everywhere. That much is clear, but I'm not seeing how exactly it will affect me when say I need to buy a new mod or tank or my diy fluid stuff.

Edit: I wasn't positive where to post this so I just stuck it here. If a mod says it must be moved then I won't be upset.

Stock up...

I would stock up on NIC and wire for sure, VG,PG and cotton should be OK as they are used in food and beauty. Flavors, like Capella's and Loran's , again, OK. Inported flavors I don't know. I have gone the prepper route and stached devices, batterys, wire, cotton, attys, nic, vg,pg, flavors and anything else I can think of. Hope it helps, but then I don't trust government.

I hear mixed reactions about all things ecig, except mods, tanks, drippers and coils. Wire?? The ecig industry is not the only industry that uses wire. If that be the case, then even toaster manufacturers won't be able to get their hands on wire. Are they stocking up?

Flavorings do lose their strength over time. I have quite a bit, but I don't want to stock up now, only to use those in a couple years and they taste like crap then. I've had flavorings that were once good, then tastes horrible when I went to use those. I'd rather vape boring unflavored in that case.

Honestly I hear so many different things, opposing stories of what will and wont be regulated, I honestly don't know what the actual truth is.

I feel ok on gear when I look at my gear. For a little while, I feel ok on my DIY stuff.

More industries than just the ecig users use the same stuff that we do. I can't understand how batteries, wire, PG, VG and flavorings will be regulated. Will they be? I don't know the truth because everyone has their own version of it.

the only thing the FDA can ban realisticly that would affect us is nicotine....and that ...I still haven't got a clear idea of what's going on there.

I know it's fucking stupid, what I don't understand is how are many of these things considered to be tobacco products when people OUTSIDE of vaping use and sell these products? Vapers discovered these things can be used for vaping, so THAT makes them tobacco products?

What happens to the soap making and cosmetics industries?
The wiring industries?
The battery use industries?
The candy, drink, baking industries?

Are all these places now considered to be liable under the regulations for tobacco? I highly doubt it, so I do not understand it.

I'm 100% for sure they will start making their own juice and shit
They already started making their own mods remember those?

I do not believe it will since liquid nicotine is sold for other purposes then vaping, like farmers, etc. For food flavorings no way in hell this will be effected. And VG, PG another product used for many other products other then vaping. So I say there will be no issues to DIY.

OK, so who beside people in the vaping industry are suing? Are any of those places going at it? THAT is why I seriously wonder if any of those things will be involved.

I know we're all pretty well screwed, but I can't imagine that all things vape can be involved without this being even bigger than it already is.

Why would you rely on something that is killing ur people,?! In California they rely so much on cigarettes sales tax and shit, WHYYYYYY??? Wtf!!!

Then what they don't know won't hurt 'em. If I buy wire from Temco direct, I don't see how that's a tobacco thing. They don't know why I'm buying wire or any of the other things. So they gonna make us check a box saying "I confirm this is not for vaping"?

Dumbasses.

I would if I could, them assholes should focus on the main component of VAPING...
They should regulate juice makers for safety and cleanliness...
They should have a MANDATORY age verification system...
They should tax it fairly
They should be involve in innovations...
I really think they want the industry to die so they can start over..... They know current VAPERS won't fall for their shit!! They doing this for future smokers, they want to make sure cigarettes won't be a thing of the past!!! So that's how I think they should do their SHIT

I think they'll have us on Mods, tanks, and coils.
They'd be considered vape paraphernalia.
I don't know what else nicotine is used for so I can't speak intelligently about that but myself, I am making sure I have plenty of those 4 items.
The hardware is just because I like it collect it.
The nic because I am uninformed.
All the rest (wire, batts, cotton, flavors, pg, vg) I agree that it'd be pretty hard to regulate since it has other uses.
HOWEVER we have watched much more ignorant things happen over the years.
Only time and money will tell.

I think the idea that EVERYTHING TO DO WITH VAPING WILL BE REGULATED comes from the simple fact that these clowns don't really have any understanding that an "e-cigarette" isn't a "thing," an object in the way that a cigarette is an object -- they simply don't know that we're using cosmetic cotton, that we're using food flavors to mix our own juice, or using "regular" batteries -- when they think "e-cig battery", they think "Ego battery". So they think they can regulate "e-cigarettes" in the exact same way they regulate "cigarettes" -- a certain number per pack with a tax stamp on it. They all want to know how many puffs of "ecig vapor" equals a cigarette, so they can slap that much in a package with a tax stamp on it. They don't have the first damn clue what vaping really means, or that ALMOST EVERY ASPECT of it has been re-purposed from some other industry. Which is great, because they'll think they're getting somewhere, when in fact they won't really have changed all that much about the "vapor industry" -- sure, they can put the hammer down on individual products, like pre-made ejuice, or atomizers, or perhaps even mods -- though in the case of the latter, it won't be that hard to go to flashlight tubes. ;) But wire, cotton, batteries, PG/VG? They don't even realize we use those items; they think it's all "cartridges" and suchlike crap.

Farmers, and gardeners have used home-made mixtures of nicotine and water as a natural pesticide to kill insect pests.

couple things
1. i sent emails to flavourart and essential depot asking them if they know anything and have found out for sure if their flavors and pg/vg are effected by the regs. I also posed the question to chemnic.

Ill report back when I hear stuff

2. if it was available for sale in the US before Feb 2007 it is not effected so that should include alot of things like wire,pg,vg,nicotine, batteries, cotton etc EVEN IF the FDA says its a tobacco product under their authority. Now that may not cover every brand of those things and not every flavoring we use today it should cover alot of it. because alot of this stuff was available before 2007 for non vaping purposes

now something being forgotten is SERVICE.
so lets take the guy who makes hand made coils
coils are under the fda regs supposedly
so that would mean someone like @CrazyChef or @raymo2u needs to file PMTA for each of their coils
but
what if I sent them wire and asked them to shape it into a spring and make it look pretty and turn it into art work - and they charged me $xx.xx to do that?

The way I read the regs on juice is its that-JUICE- not the individual ingredients they are regulating. But for each juice they want to know everything and them some for each ingredient such as nicotine,pg,vg,and flavors. I may be reaidng it wrong or missing where they actually name the specific items. They say flavors meaning flavors of juice- not flavoring in my mind

The more I think about it, the more I am bothered by the fact that so many employees and business will be ass out.
Sure some items I use may be more difficult to get but I am a single person and I'll get by.
(all of us together will naturally have a greater impacted loss)
But the many thousands of people who will no longer have their place of employment is what pisses me off more.

You could do that. But, the regulations are regarding companies, not individuals. So, seeing as how I'm actually a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC), there will be regulations that will apply to me, but not to @raymo2u . Ray is just a guy that makes good quality coils. I'm a company. I foresee Ray making some good money after August 8th... :D

Chef is a real company...Im just a hobbyist that feels no one should miss out on a good thing ;)

Thanks for the clarification Chef....It really sucks that its actually happening....I liked the way things were going right now with the industry and its crazy how selfish and dark the FDA and its supporters are...People jobs, livelihoods, and more are at stake and to care about Sin Tax and profit margins more blows me away....There is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there?

the government sees no difference between a llc and an individual if you charge money for it you are teh same. the difference lies in LIABILITY

but your missing the point. If i ask you to shape wire into a specific shape and you charge me for that SERVICE not the finished product you are not selling me a coil you are selling me a service WHICH there is a big difference in the eye of the law between a service and a product. Especially when it comes to sales tax. SO it might be something to explore as a workaround like you were looking for in your loophole thread

To a great extent, the general population doesn't give a "tinkers damn" about vapors or vaping. That said it isn't happening to them, but say no more TV sets or import cars and the poop hits the propeller. To those "Freeking Dumb Asses" are going for a fringe group of folks who broke away for their plan to profit and control more of our lives.
