I haven't seen it mentioned yet- I went on a tank quest to find the best flavor from a tank with pre-built coils, and the best I have yet to find is the Arctic v8 mini..I spent untold amounts on tanks and this was my conclusion!
Which coils do you prefer for it? I've got the tank but I've only tried the ones named after animals. The Snake was my favorite for flavor. Are any of the normal coils as good or better?

I don't think the regular coils are as good, but I far prefer the snake coils, then the tiger, then the hive- in that order.

praxis vapors' spitfire w/ .2 ohm coils. best taste i get out of all my tanks (have a lot of the mentioned in this thread)

coils are hard to find though

Hi Peeps.. My first post just been reading and enjoying up till this point...
I have tried a few tanks and with out a doubt the Cleito wins hands down if you are looking for flavour.
I find most juices taste best at around 55 watts. I recently picked up a new juice which i could not put down and after chain vaping all the way back from the shop the cleito performed superbly with no dry/burnt hits. One thing to mention is that with the great air flow and the clapton coil in this tank it drinks juice like nothing else so be prepared to carry a gallon around with you if you like a regular hit.... I have recently upgraded mine with the fat boy glass which holds extra valuable mls of juice :)

I'm looking to step my vape game up...or at least attempt to. Just ordered some pre-made coils(variety pack from Fasttech), cotton, an RTA(OBS Crius Plus), two RDA's(a Goon clone & a Tsunami)!

I heard there is much better flavor from RTA's & RDA's. Is this true? Also, heard it will be cheaper to build own coils, buy wire, cotton, etc., rather than buying the pre-made coils that come in tanks.

I also placed an order for Coilmaster DIY Kit to build own coils, etc. In regards to wire gauge(I believe it ranges from 22-28 or something like that... please correct me if I'm wrong), what is a good/safe/standard starting point? Haven't orders any wire yet, because I wasn't sure? It will be my first time building a coi, using the Commander Kit!

I'm so excited! Hope to hear from you soon!

COil building and correct wire to use take research. this will depend on the mod you are using and the batteries it contains.
I tend to make my coils from 24 gauge k1 kanthal and clapton coil wire. You will also need to decide what ohms you want to sit at to achieve the flavor/ cloud you are after. There is a good web site called Steam engine which can be great at working out wire thickness and coil wraps, also an ohms meter is a must (and dont buy the cheap one) Im very new to the coil building thing my self so as i said research and be safe and enjoy :) :)

I also tend to stick with 24 gauge although in ss316l. I have been building for a while now and have several different gauges and types of wire. Start simple. My recommendation would be 24 gauge kanthal. Kanthal is great for beginners. That gauge is easy to work with and won't snap as easy as finer gauges. As @waddie01 stated use steamengine.org. It has all the info you need. Before you know it you will have the simple stuff memorized and know how many wraps of your favorite wire it takes to reach your desired ohm target. Keep it simple until you get a hang of it.

I have been chasing flavor since I started vaping, I own probably 50 tanks between rtas rdas and sub tanks and my every day tank for flavor is the supertank by tobacco with the aspire triton .3 coils or the VCMT rta or the moonshot. the crown is also always on a mod as well.

Most flavorful RDA that I have found with a duel Clapton build would be the twisted messes. It produces such a sweet and unique flavor I haven't found any other RDA that works like this one does and I probably have bought almost all of them well not all of them but a lot

So after using the Uwell Crown and Vaporesso Gemini for a few months, I finally used an RDA for the first tiiiimmmeee! FLAVOR FOR DAYS! The Goon atop my RX200 with Ice Cream Donuts. FLAVOR CHASING! Now, I overstand why people stick with the RDA's rather than the Sub Ohm Tank! I used pre-built coils(.30) made by UD. One huge adjustment to the Goon is every few minutes, I have to add more juice. A bit of a pain but flavor makes it worth it. I'm assuming the RTA will help with the constant dripping pain.:/ Next, I will try my Crius Plus and Tsunami! Kayfun 5 and Kennedy are on my radar. Any suggestions, please share! #AWORKINPROGRESS #VAPING ROCKS!

The twisted messes RDA is an awesome RDA especially for flavor. As well as the double vision and The twisted messes squared

I have a TFV4 doesn't leak and hits good, but my friend got the TFV8 and that thing is a beast. I hit it at 150 watts and it was as good as a lot of RDAs. Its the best tank I've tried personally. I never tried a crown to compare. The Clieto is a good small option as well. I have one, it's not as good as the TFV4 but it's close. The main issue with the clieto is filling isn't easy (TFV4 has super easy filling) and that you get a lot of "pop" from teh coils of hot juice passing the drip tip into your mouth.

For RDAs, i personally prefer the velocity style deck. I have a hellboy which is similar to the twisted set up, i prefer the velocity to it. But the Tsunami 24 kicks all their butts to me. Huge deck with room, easy to build velocity style deck, lots of air flow (kennedy style) and the separate tip stays cool when the tank heats up. I also got an aeronaut which is cool, but it heats up too easy IMO, so not the best for super builds that heat up massive coils

I've found the tastiest and best juice flow coils to be Vaporesso cCells (like primarily for Target tanks but can be used for many other tanks that take Triton/ Atlantis coils too).

I go 'mid ohm' with 0.9ers which give fairly good, respectable enough, long lung hits for me with full flavor without using up eliquid too fast.

It's amazing the difference in flavor you get depending which tank you put them in. Which is obviously not a fault of the coils, but it really helps to separate the good tanks from the bad.

Good tanks for flavor: Sense Herakles (bottom fill), Triton 1 (do not overtighten or it leaks out overnight), Amigo Riptide (bottom fill, an underrated gem). These all take Triton and Vaporesso Target coils but AVOID Atlantis coils like the plague! My Uwell Crown was good but I must have got a bad batch of coils recently and my trusty old Nautilus Mini always tastes good as well.

Bad or inadequate tasting tanks are probably worth mentioning too, I think. Here's some I have found: Aspire Atlantis 2 (it just seems to leach away the flavor from any liquid or coil, really weird and total shit, no one here recommending it, I don't think), Triton 2 (how could such a beautifully engineered tank taste so insipid and flat? It must have inherited something from the Atlantis 2. Much worse tasting than the Triton 1), Joyetech Cubis (AVOID!).

Good coils: Vaporesso cCell 0.9 and 0.5, Aspire Triton 1.8 and 0.4 (I think it was), Uwell Crown was good and I have a new 1.2 box to open so fingers crossed, Amigo Riptide/ Donner 0.5 (these virtually unknown gems have a genius little innovation involving nickel mesh at the juice entry holes which wick juice really efficiently into the cotton and coil, practically eliminating dry hits or the need to huff and puff to reprime after its been sitting unused for a long time. Love the one that came with the Riptide, so I reordered a new box of 5. They'll fit all tanks that take Tritons and cCells too).

Shit coils: Atlantis, Morpheus, Cubis.

Just some of my own personal experience.

Helpful list of tanks are interchangeable with Triton/ Atlantis style coils here:

Hello all, first post here! I haven't seen anyone mention the Council of Vapor Defiant (ceramic.5 ohm). While I had to overcome some of the issues with a hot mouthpiece, and it's tempermental as far as leaking if you're just a bit careless when filling, I've found this to be my go to tank for flavor running 70 watts. I absolutely love it! I've got a TFV8, Velocity, a Temple 22mm, An Air Force One, some tanked cartos, etc... and if I clapton a twisted ribbon coil dual 6 wraps@ .35 ohms, the Velocity and the Temple compete with my Defiant on the flavor front with the airflow set up right... but that defiant is back to back consistent and delicious without the need for redripping. I'm looking into a crown, and the cleito to compare.... but I just cant imagine it getting any better flavor wise. My only complaint is the coils are expensive and don't seem to last as long as I imagined they should. Does anybody here have a Defiant who can give me an objective comparison?

i dont usually care for prebuilt coils, but was seriously impressed with the prebuilt coil my Tornado Nano came wiht. i believe it's a .5 "chip coil". anyhow, it performs darn near as well as my 24ga SS316 or dual clapton builds i use in the RBA deck.

I hear a lot of people say the Cleito has good flavor. I can't speak from experience, as I never use tanks with pre-built coils.
Personally, I think your spinning your wheels if you're trying to get flavor from pre-built coils. RTAs are the way to go if you want flavor and the convenience of a tank. Not trying to be rude, just trying to help

I'll probably be the only one to recommend this, but my current favorite flavor tank with factory coils is the Innokin Scion. .50 ohm coil at 70 watts, awesome flavor, mucho clouds. I'm not a cloud chaser but I find this setup keeps me off of the stinkies. I have tried many atomizers thru the years, and always went back to smoking a cig or two every week. Not since I got this tank. I also currently use a Big Baby Beast and it is very nice also. I use the Q2 .4 ohm coils in that one. (won it along with a SMOK G150 mod). Never liked SMOK products, but for an internal battery mod, it's very nice.

I do have to add that I have always liked Innokin products, so I'm sure that I am biased.
Also I bought RTA's for my Scions, easy to build on and great flavor too.
Down side is that the Scion drinks juice, but I DIY, so, it's all good.

I have to put in a good word for the Freemax Fireluke mesh tank. It's as good as any tank I've owned for flavor, plus the coils have a nice, long lifespan. There is only one choice for resistance at 0.4 ohms, but they are effective at a wide range of power. You get pretty solid flavor at 45-50 watts, but it sings at 70-80 fee will handle 90-100 c you like your vape nice and hot.

It has a great look without getting ostentatious or "radical" as the design tends seems to be heading in vape gear at present. Here's mine on one of my Drags:

I still love my Crown tank. I started reading and all the people saying the Crown was their favorite surprised me. I thought I was the only one using a tank from 2016, then I realized those comments were from 2016. Anyway still a great tank. The Geekvape Alpha is a new favorite of mine and I love the push button top open. Don’t have to worry about accidentally opening it. The meshmallow .2 coils are great with it as well.
